Chapter 2: Younger Sister: Erika Miyano

"So, when do you plan on returning to school, Soren?" Kristina asked.

"Today," I told confidently, effortlessly maneuvering the chopsticks with practiced ease.

Was this a manifestation of the body's memory, I pondered silently.

"T-Today? Isn't that a bit sudden, onii-chan?" Erika's voice trembled with uncertainty.

"I've already missed a month of classes; I can't afford to fall further behind," I explained with a reassuring smile.

"But, onii-sama, didn't you tell us that your friends were willing to provide you with everything?" Flora asked, her expression betraying a hint of skepticism.

Ah... I hadn't anticipated this.

It seemed Soren had fabricated tales of having supportive friends.

"Yes, but I'd rather not rely on them. Besides, spending a month cooped up indoors has taken its toll on me," I replied, hoping to dispel any lingering doubts.

"I see..." Flora nodded, her surprise evident.

My newfound assertiveness appeared to catch them all off guard.

"Where are Nobuo-san and Ayaka-san?" I swiftly shifted the conversation, eager to change the subject.

Nobuo was my stepfather, and Ayaka, my stepsister, who was not only my age but also attended the same school.

"Nobuo-san's mother isn't feeling well, so he's gone to visit her with Ayaka," Yumiko informed me.

Now let's test this skill.

Scanner.

I looked at Kristina first.

Kristina: Motherly affection: 52%

Yumiko: Sisterly affection: 52%

Erika: Sisterly Affection: 53%

Flora: Sisterly Affection: 50%

From my understanding, the average level of familial love within the family stood at 50%, with three of them—Kristina, Erika, and Yumiko—hovering slightly above this mark. However, Flora maintained a steady 50%, suggesting a somewhat more challenging bond to strengthen. She appeared to be the toughest nut to crack.

With my sights set on accumulating Affections to unlock more items in the shop, I knew I had to start somewhere. While acquiring tasks at school was one option, I also recognized the importance of nurturing relationships within the family.

But where to begin?

I decided to start with the easiest target: Erika.

My younger sister, currently in her final year of middle school.

Without hesitation, I purchased a new skill: Aphrodite's Perfume.

A smirk danced upon my lips as I read its effects.

"I'm heading out first!" Erika announced, rising from her seat as she finished her meal.

Perfect timing.

"I'll be leaving too," I declared, seizing the opportunity.

"Are you sure you're feeling alright, Soren?" Kristina's voice dripped with concern as she cast a worried glance my way.

I offered her a reassuring smile, leaning in to kiss her cheek. "I'm fine, thank you."

Her surprise was evident, but she returned the smile nonetheless.

"Take care, Soren," Yumiko waved farewell as I made my exit.

"Have a good day, Onii-sama," Flora's soft voice added, her expression unreadable.

Putting on my uniform and slipping on my shoes with haste, I caught up to Erika.

"Whoa, Onii-chan, you seem to have grown a little taller, don't you think?" Erika observed, raising her hand to gauge my height, her sailor uniform shifting slightly to reveal a glimpse of her cute belly.

"I suppose so, but you're still as energetic as ever, aren't you?" I remarked with a smile, reaching out to tousle Erika's hair.

"Hey! I'm not a baby, Onii-chan!" Erika protested, though I could tell she secretly enjoyed the gesture.

How did I know?

Tiny heart symbols floated above her head, visible to me thanks to my scanner skill.

As we strolled, we couldn't help but draw curious gazes from passersby, Erika in particular captivating attention with her rare beauty.

Yet, I couldn't shake the feeling that I too garnered some of these glances now. While not strikingly handsome, my appearance had certainly improved, likely owing much to my Italian heritage.

"You know, Onii-chan... I was a little scared when you were cooped up alone in your room..." Erika confessed suddenly, her expression turning solemn.

"Hm?"

"But I'm really glad you're back!" she added, her grin returning.

Your brother is dead unfortunately and fortunately for me.

But I will take care of you, Erika.

Without hesitation, I pulled her into a tight embrace and activated my skill: Aphrodite's Perfume.

An invisible pink aura emanated from my body, enveloping Erika as she shivered slightly in my embrace.

"It's okay, Erika... I'm here," I whispered softly, holding her close.

"O-Onii-chan..." Erika's cheeks flushed faintly as she hugged me back, her modest breasts pressing against my chest. A shame she was wearing a bra.

Her scent was really pleasant, too, as I smelled her hair. I refrained from kissing her on the lips in favor of kissing her forehead. "That's alright."

Erika's heart began to pound louder inside her chest, and larger heart symbols began to fly out of her head.

"T-Thanks! Onii-chan!" Erika hurriedly withdrew, and the Aphrodite's Perfume ended as well.

It was hard to resist kissing her when I was so close to her.

I mean in my previous life I had barely finished highschool and I was still eighteen.

Erika: Sisterly Affection: 55%

I smiled. It had gone up to two percent but it was still a sisterly affection.

[If the sisterly affection reaches 60, the sisterly part will be removed.]

Oh?

[Under normal circumstances it should be impossible to rise more but.]

But I have Aphrodite's Perfume playing in my favor.

It's forcing and unlocking something inside Erika that shouldn't have been possible in the first place.

I'm starting to love this new life.
