Chapter 4: First.... Practice???

Once in the bathroom I find a stall and hang my bag on a hook on the door and begin undressing. Stripping away the dressy shirt and the hot pants as well as kicking off my school shoes. Opening my bag I reach in to pull out my dark purple gym shorts with white gold designs on them when the lights go off.

'Ugh I should have known.' I groan inwardly.

Quickly I slip into my gym shirt and grab my basketball shoes out of my bag. Thanks to my Raven Eyes I can still pretty much remember my surroundings, but it's obvious that's not the case for my hazers. They bumble and bump into multiple things before finding my stall, the sound of a chair being place down and then the scratching a hand reaching for something.

Ah he wants to steal my bag, luckily I already took my shoes out or it would not have been a very good first day. They find my school work bag first which to be honest doesn't have much in it. Just a couple pencils, erasers and a calculator. Next they find my gym bag which already has my school clothes in there as I'm currently lacing up my final shoe.

I think some payback is in order for whoever though they could steal my stuff. Dropping down in a push up position, I slide underneath the wall of the stall into the one beside it and then slip out of it as quiet as possible. Which I am a very quiet person when I want to be. Remembering what I saw from the show I had studied martial arts like Seiho from the show, and various others that focused on balance and smoothness of motion.

And sorry Kuroko but I also studied misdirection and have developed quite the nifty sleight of hand that's even translated into my basketball game. Hey don't judge, you have to be over prepared if you're going to face the Generation of Miracles.

Either way one of those martial arts also focused on being able to walk with silent footsteps, or stepping in a way that's sounds like it's coming from one side but really it's the other. Sort of like a sound misdirection, people rely on their hearing more than they think since not many are naturally gifted in reflexes to keep up off visuals alone. So they use all their senses to try and gauge which way an opponent is heading.

Silently I creep out of the bathroom before exiting and then locking the door once I'm out. Seeing nobody else in the hallway I head toward the basketball court with a devilish smile on my face.

Opening the door to the court I see 6 people standing near the door with smiles on their faces, only for them to instantly drop when they see who stepped out out of the door.

"My what's with the long faces? Make a guy cry being that disappointed in seeing him." I say in mock sadness before bringing back the devilish smile, making my teammates shiver a little.

"Uh where is Tao?" One of them asks

"Who's that?" I reply while tilting my head to the side and dropping my smile, adopting a confused expression. Kawahara steps up and speaks.

"He was the one shooting the free throws."

"Ahh the guy who missed 15 shots in a row, well maybe more considering he was probably shooting before I got in here." Everyone slightly flinches at that and a couple have a bit of anger evident on their face.

I chuckle a little at this.

"Haha. If he was the one that came to steal my stuff in the bathroom, then he is currently locked in there." I close my eyes and relax the laughter from my face before looking down at the floor. My eyes gain serious look as I bring my head back up to stare at all of them, they once again flinch and now they all have surprised looks. Blinking my eyes they go back to their usual aloof nature and speak jovially.

"Do try to refrain from stealing my stuff in the future, it will not be pleasant for the one that attempts it a second time."

*bang bang bang*

Looking back over my shoulder down the hallway toward the banging, then back to them I continue.

"Seems like he's ready to come out, why don't one of you go help him. I need to warm up for my first practice." I say with a genuine smile before walking my way in between them and they naturally made way for me. This confused them even more.

[Kawahara POV]

When Aida looked up from the floor it was like I saw death for the briefest second before he blinked and smiled making it feel like it never happened. Also the way my body just moved on it's own when he walked through all 6 of us like we didn't exist.

I've never felt like this before, like I was so small compared to someone. I've always been taller than other kids my age, but he made me feel like an ant. And now as soon as he stepped inside the the lines of the court it's like I feel heavier and the air is thicker, and I could have sworn I saw these black feathers fall when he walked past.

*bang bang bang*

"Guys let me out!!" Hearing Tao's banging and his yell brought me out of my thoughts. I look over at the other members and they are just standing there watching Aida as if in a trance. And watching him myself I can't blame them, he puts the guys on Kamata West Junior High to shame, and we couldn't even score 20 points against them last year. We really have a monster on our team this year.

*bang bang bang*

"Guys!!!" Tao yells once more.

This finally seemed to break everyone out of what we trance we were in and rushed to unlock the door to find a very distressed Tao who seemed to be on the verge of tears.

"Tao what happened?" I asked quickly

"What took you guys so damn long, I've been beating in that door for hours." Tao asks shakily

"Huh? It's only been 5 minutes." I raised my eyebrow at this.

Tao's eyes widened slightly. "O-oh I see." He stands unsteadily before looking and seeing everyone's worried faces and scowl forms on his face.

"Bah! Don't look at me like that! Come on let's go practice." He says and stomps past us down the hall, we all look at each other and then shrug following him back to the court just in time to see Aida hit a 3 pointer from almost in the corner of the court.

[Back to Ryosei]

Aaaand 10. That's 10 shots in a row from each of the 5 spots of a 3 point contest. Oh looks like the team is back.

"So when does practice start Vice cap?"

Kawahara looks towards Tao and I grimace, no way, that guy is the captain? Tao sees my grimace and his scowl deepens before speaking.

"Right now, 4v4. Me, Kawahara, Arata, and Otani vs Otake, Teshima, Ikehara, and Aida. Otake's team will wear the yellow jerseys."

A smile rises on my face, finally my basketball career in Kuroko no Basket can begin.

Author's Note

Once again many apologies for lying about basketball being played this chapter. But I wanted to do a POV switch to show what other people felt and saw when talking to Ryosei, and one POV took up half the chapter! Don't worry next chapter will definitely have basketball as it will be a 4v4, and if you don't remember from earlier all of Tao's teammates are starters, while Ryosei only has one.

Tao thinks he will get an easy win and get back at Ryosei, but I wonder what will really happen. Depends if I want Ryosei to crush them or not, guess you'll have to see.

Hope you enjoyed.
