Chapter 66: Indiana Tavy and the Tomb of Cheops.
*Soooooo....mind telling me Daddy...why are we taking a walk through the Desert instead of flying or teleporting straight to Giza?* Asked Octavia sounding slightly annoyed.
They were currently a few hundred meters from their, still unnamed, territory, walking towards Giza through the hot sands of Sahara.
"Oh well... that was a plan, i know but... I just had this sudden idea to have a walk. I was actually hoping to train that Dragon Skin Technique while i had the occasion. It's not like the tomb is going to disappear, right?" Konrad replied awkwardly while scratching the back of his head.
*Humpf...I remember you saying that you are never going to travel through the desert by foot ever again. Where did that decision disappeared to?* She asked but received no answer. She became puzzled so she looked at Konrad only to realize that she was standing still in realization a few meters back.
"Now that your saying that...Your totally right! I was so enraptured with the idea of finally training this Technique that i completely forgot how unpleasant it was to walk here Haha! Alright Octavia, Come. Let's take a teleport!" He said before turning back on his heels and departing towards the Palace.
**Snort* Silly Daddy* She muttered before following right behind him by turning into a blue cat...

"So here we are Octavia! Happy?" Konrad asked Octavia as they teleported to Giza with a portal.
*I would be happier if you put the teleportation formation closer to the Pyramids... It's still a good few kilometers of walking...* She replied.
"Well i could...but this here is closer to the city center and we're going to visit here more often than to the Pyramids, right?"He gave his reason.
*And couldn't you just make another formation specifically for the pyramids? it's not like it would take you a lot of time with your newfound proficiency in earth magic and a new supply of blood...* She proposed as they walked towards Giza.
"A waste of materials? Dunno. Maybe I'm just too lazy to take care of it when there's so much more interesting things to look into." He shrugged his shoulders.
"Anyway! Since we still have a moment of free time, let me ponder on this Technique as we walk. It's about time I get some physical resistance. You can continue training your Hawk form too." He said.
In the end, Octavia agreed and they spend their one hour long walk on a leisure training.

It was quiet an interesting Technique. Konrad couldn't deny that fact. Each stage of it was ingrained into his mind but he couldn't understand anything above the first stage even though he had that knowledge.
He knew how to go around in order to reach the first stage but if he wanted to reach the second, he would need to first achieve the first one, if only to understand what he was even supposed to do.
The first stage of the Dragon Skin Technique was also not something easy to do. It was actually a profound method of Mana manipulation that required of him to to infuse the Mana into his skin to form some kind of primeval, passive, magic protection that greatly increase his physical resistance and durability. In simpler words, it was a kind of intent magic that made his skin much tougher to damage by infusing the Mana into said skin.
Another thing he understood...that skill is actually a natural thing amongst dragons! And yes. The skill's knowledge let him know that dragons really did exist in the past!
It was something that any dragon would train instinctively from the day they were born and would achieve the first stage at the age of ten or something like this! The knowledge about dragons was really quiet interesting but it wasn't much useful to him at the moment, seeing as there is no living dragons in this world anymore. He really had to make some kind of breakthrough in his AWHS research...//try guessing ;) //
Konrad walked with Octavia through the city, the Concealment formation hanging on his chest like a giant medal, and he tried to get the hang of the skill but it was a slow process...
He was focusing on his palm, trying to visualize the proper magic to infuse into his skin, but even after half an hour of trying, the most he could achieve was cause the skin on the back of his hand to shine with magic that formed into a number of little scales. As soon as he lost concentration though, the light disappeared and his skin returned to normal.
At first Konrad thought that he would have to start from the beginning, but every next try afterwards allowed him to cover slightly bigger part of his hand with the glowing scales. In the end, when they finally arrived under the Pyramids he could with rather ease, cover his entire hand with the glowing dragon scales.
He felt a bit annoyed though.
"It takes so much time! if it's like this, i would have to spend an entire day or two focusing solely to reach the first Stage! Sigh...I guess that I'll do it when we are done with this Tomb." He complained as they were approaching the Great Pyramid.
If any dragon heard Konrad's complain, he would be now puking blood out of his mouth. "Slow!? A newborn dragons needs a month to achieve what you did in an hour by trying halfheartedly!' He would think.
"How's your Hawk form Tavy?" Asked Konrad turning to the Blue Hawk that was trying to unsuccessfully lift of the ground while trotting behind him. Octavia decided lately to ignore her coloration so she could better focus on the actual form and consistency. It actually helped her quiet a lot in her training but it was also quiet amusing to see a blue cat or a blue Hawk running around and occasionally tripping around him.
*It's getting better! I think I am on the right path of recreating the light bones and the Hawk eyesight! It's a really feeling to see only from a fragment of my body though. Thankfully I'm already almost used to it thanks to mastering the cat form.* She explained excitedly.
One interesting thing about Octavia's transformation. When she masters a form to perfection, It is very, VERY realistic. To the point that she even feels like the real deal, mind you with the ability to make her body practically indestructible and moldable at will.
She can feel the touch and have all the senses of the creature she is mimicking. Of course the only creature she mastered until now was the cat form but it was enough to show that she could feel pain, smell, and see better in the dark. She was even purring when Konrad caressed her belly!
Konrad had a suspicion that it was only thanks to the Skill Orb She absorbed, because he wasn't certain if she could recreate those senses normally, even if she reached this high level of Body Control. It must have boosted the power of her transformation ability above the simple molding, metal infusion and recolorization.
Konrad smiled hearing her positive response and turned back towards the Pyramid. They were already in front of the entrance, looking at a queue of people waiting for their turn to see the upper chambers. Of course Konrad and Octavia were headed in a different direction.

His resting place, that was never discovered, exists in between the lower chamber and the Queen's chamber.
The Tomb's shape originally formed the perfect "Divine Connection" Mana Generation form.
Due to the the disappearance of the limestone that covered and smoothed the Pyramid, the ability to generate Mana greatly diminished. Only the size of the Pyramid allowed it to keep it's position as the strongest source of Mana in the world after the XXXX.
Thanks to this building, The depleted Mana could recover by a miniature margin, through releasing over one hundred milion Mana points into the atmosphere after all the years of it's existence.

Without anyone stopping them the duo departed into the Greatest Tomb on the planet. The first thing Konrad pointed out was the obvious electric light, railings and the wooden footbridge to help people walk down the broken down stone stairs. It was not how an actual tomb should be like as it was more a tourist attractions than a Tomb but that's your today's society. And they would be angry if someone dug up their grandparents graves but when they do it, it's alright... Well... he shouldn't really mind as he was just about to be an even bigger disrespectful grave robber than most of those tourists believed they weren't...
It was in fact the first time for either of them to see the inside of the Great Pyramid because most of this stuff was already thoroughly explored and emptied, there was only this much they could see by taking the standard tourists path. No. The duo was currently looking for some kind of blocked passage or secret entrance but so far Konrad's observe continued displaying just information like

they were out of luck for the most part and Konrad was starting to lean on the idea of just making his own path with earth magic in the same way he build his Palace, by just taking the general direction of the supposed Tomb.
But he stopped himself for the moment, instead deciding to just check out the rest of the place before going for the big guns.
They were about to leave the King's chamber when something caught his eye. Konrad had a suspicion that the tomb might have been connected with that chamber but he discarded the idea because of the fact that this chamber was above the queens chamber, and their destination was supposed to be under it but now he was not that certain. I mean...just look at this place! This is literally a room with an empty granite sarcophagus! But the fact that it's empty was most likely the reason why most people assumed it to be the Sarcophagus of Cheops that was robbed by someone. That was of course an understandable assumption but it didn't work for Konrad for a few reasons.
One. He knew from observe that the real tomb was still somewhere out here. And second. The same skill said a quiet interesting thing about this granite sarcophagus block.
