Chapter 6: chapter 5: Persephone pt.2
Let's see what a certain young man is up to at the same time, shall we?

While I made my way through the remnants of the nearby city, which fell into total ruin after the meteorites hit, I was thinking back on her.
She thanked me. Seriously, who in their right mind thanks their murderer for killing them?! She certainly was an odd one.
But what still confuses me is she had good instincts, she felt something was off, so why didn't she make a run for it? I might have even let her go, as I wasn't even sure if she's the one I was looking for anyways.
While I pondered over what is now in the past, I finally arrived at my destination.
It was a run down museum, which in all honesty was surprising that it still existed, considering the building wasn't renovated for over 300years and visitors were rare.
But it was just my luck that it did. The item I'm looking for is in here after all.
Casually kicking in the door, I made my way to the upper floor. There in the far back, I could spot it. One of the 3 Heavenly swords. It was one of the most powerful swords that existed throughout history and it was mine now.
I grabbed it and took it out of its sheath. The surface was free of any cuts or imperfections. It was well taken care of, even though it was already centuries old.
Resheathing it , I placed it next to my other sword, which I had from my previous travels.
Time really is a fickle thing. In the previous timeline, I had companions, but they all died because of her. I won't let that happen again.
Having made up my mind, I left the museum and made my way to the next City: Moscow
This time, I will survive till the end.

"Tell me, child, why are you here?"
For a moment I closed my eyes, to think about the right words. I grabbed the nearby tea cup in my hands and swirled the fluid inside it, while speaking.
"no particular reason"
"you asked for an audience and caused a ruckus, for no reason?"
She sounded surprised, I couldn't blame her.
Just the look of that masculine and pretty face with the black curly hair and grass green eyes, which opened slightly in surprise, kind of left me in awe. He really was pretty, if I do say so, however the fact that the goddess of the underworld took on his appearance, still disturbed me somewhat.
"exactly."
"so you are not here to deal yourself back to the living world?"
"I will be able to return there regardless, I don't need to make a deal for that"
"is that so? And how do you plan on accomplishing that?"
"if I were to tell you, it would take all the fun of it, don't you think?!"
I smirked in her direction.
She rested her chin on the back of her hand and studied me in response. Then after a short moment started giggling.
"alright then. As gratitude for providing me with quite the entertainment till now, I shall at least listen to what you have to say. Speak, child"
"It's an opportunity "
"Opportunity?"
She looked baffled for a second but returned to her composed self.
"For who?"
"Either of us."
"In what way?"
"You aren't allowed to leave the underworld, is that correct?"
"indeed"
"So you normally wouldn't be able to go to the world of the living, right?"
"under normal circumstances, that is correct"
"so, there are exceptions?"
"Yes, but at a high price. Why these questions?"
"For someone, who is basically trapped in here, I'm sure you have something that you want from outside. It could be anything. I am willing to provide you with whatever you wish for. It can be an item, or even the death of someone. Literally anything, may it be as impossible to accomplish as can be. I will do it"
"And what do you gain from that?"
"a favor"
"What favor?"
"I don't know yet."
"I see. By offering to do something that has the possibility of impossibility ,you want to leave open the option of a favor with just as much impossibility, is that it?"
"correct"
"interesting"
Folding her hands ,she leaned back with that big body and closed her eyes. She seemed to be thinking about it. That is at least more than I expected at first.
"Fine. I accept"
I was stunned. She really accepted?!
"Then...your mission?"
"I want you to kill something for me and bring me a certain item"
"What is it, that I shall kill?"
"Chimera. I need it's heart"
"I see. Well as long as it has got a heart ,it shall be killable, do I have a time limit or something?"
"No. The life of a human is short, so take as much time as you may, I shall watch over your progress till then"
"Understood"
Without anything else to say, I stood up and turned on my heel, but left with a few last words.
"Until we meet again, Persephone"
I felt her gaze on me as I left the castle.
In front of the castles gate, I met Calci again.
"Will you show me the way back?" I asked
He murmured something inaudible and went ahead. I took this as a yes. We retraced our steps on the way back, till the tunnel, where I first met him.
"This is as far as I go"
"alright"
Without looking back, I walked into the tunnel, back to the darkness , where I came from.
