Chapter 1: Metropolis
' Eh, Where am I?" Lamar thought, He suddenly woke up in a dark alleyway. He was surprised not only by where he found himself but what he can see. He looked at everything around him and noticed his vision was not hindered at all by the darkness. Able to clearly see in detail the trash that littered the ground.
"Ok, not the strangest thing...." Lamar said out loud. He attempted to stand up but as he did his hands and feet made large cracks in the ground as he applied force. He blankly stared for a second before giving another attempt at standing up. This time with considerably more control.
He stood up dusting off his clothes which looked to be a white T-shirt and grey shorts accompanied by socks and slides.
He started walking out of the alleyway. 'I wonder what city this is?' he mentally said as he peered out and looked onto the street.
The buildings sored into the sky reaching the clouds. Many of these skyscrapers had billboards with celebrities and popular products being advertised. "Wow.." Lamar has never seen anything like this before... though he couldn't remember.
Lamer picked a direction and started walking. 'Where is everybody at tho?' He hasn't seen a single person since he left the alleyway. He continued on his way passing by a couple of stores before he felt endangered; it was hard to explain he felt something like a sixth sense telling him to dodge. Time itself seemed to slow down as he instinctively bent his body with superhuman movements to dodge the incoming object.
His slides couldn't handle the force as they instanty broke apart under his nimble strength. the projectile shot through the air piercing multiple buildings before flying directly over Lamar. 'Wha... a human?' time still slowed down for him as he looked at the object, flying directly inches above his head he was shocked to find out it was a man.
The guy shot rapidly into the bottom of a nearby skyscraper With an ear-splitting bang. Dust and debris erupted onto the street. some of the cars were knocked by the force of the collision gliding into the air.
Lamar stood upright not at all impacted by the shockwave from the impact. "Damn, I must be superhuman now no ordinary person would be able to dodge something like that," he mumbled to himself as he watched the skyscraper collapse on itself making the ground rumble. A damaged part of the building fell to the street, hurtling directly towards Lamar. He felt strangely calm as he looked at the building-sized chuck of debris flying right above him.
He felt no danger from the debris and lifted his hands into the air using a small amount of strength he gripped the fifty-ton broken building falling on him and lifted it above his head quite easily. 'Did not expect it to be this light but aight,' he thought before gently placing the broken chunk of the building on the ground.
Lamar's ears twitched picking up rustling he turned his attention back on the area where the man smashed into. The guy broke through the fallen building jumping into the air and landing onto the street with a loud boom.
the man was well built standing strong and tall he had on a blue outfit accompanied by red trunks, red boots, and a long flowing red cape. A yellow belt encircled his waist and there was a highly stylized "S" symbol on his chest.
The man instantly noticed Lamar surprised he raised a hand to his ear and said in a deep voice "Batman emergency we still have one civilian in the area,"
the man on the other end replied "We evacuated all civilians earlier. He might have been missed, Superman."
Lamar himself was surprised because he actually heard their conversation. He thought to himself 'How did I hear that?'
Before Lamar could even react superman appeared in front of him with a burst of speed. Lamar's senses were going off telling him this man was dangerous. Superman looked at him with some worry and said
"Hey, kid you need to leave this area fast. It's not safe here Metallo is wreaking havoc."
Lamar didn't have time to reply. He felt his senses flaring telling him to dodge and he was about to do exactly that but the man in the blue costume stood in front of him and caught the car with one hand and tossed it to the side with a flick of his wrist.
Lamar looked to where the car that almost hit him came from and saw a tall humanoid robot with a bright green crystal in its chest. the robot man was staring down superman and started running at him. superman did the same flying at him at super speeds they both slammed into each other.
The wind stirred up from their clash of strength.
Metallo took a step back and loaded a jab. superman easily blocked the punch grabbing Metallo's arm and throwing him over his shoulder slamming him to the ground.
The ground in all directions cracked open.
Lamar was watching on the sidelines intently during the fight and he was amazed not only by this inhuman fight but how he can perceive it, no normal person should be able to capture their movements.
The battle was quite short only lasting a couple of seconds when superman got serious, instantly Knocking Metallo out.
Superman made sure Metallo was unconscious before turning towards Lamar and flying over.
Superman flew down in front of Lamar using x-ray vision looking over his body checking for injuries.
Clark's face gradually shifted into slight surprise before reaching to his ear and speaking in a low tone "Batman this kid is not human."
