Chapter 2: Glasses
For all you who have 20 20 vision... please have pity on this chapter!
Okay this week's discussion is the fact that "glasses" are very inappropriately named. We begin when glasses were in wire frames and had glass (YES, I said glass) lenses. You would guess that they were called that because of the glass lenses... BUT THEN THESE WOULD NOT BE RANDOM THOUGHTS!
So I will be telling you why I think they are called glasses... Ahem *In a regal voice* These odd things that we put on our face, so that we are not blind as bats in daylight, are named this peculiar name. We are to call them... "gllláááásssëëëësssss"? (Pssst... Am I saying this right? *whispers*) Ahh! I was just informed that it is pronounced "glasses"!
Anyhoo, they were forged by Salvino D'Armate. (That is they actual inverter of the first pair of glasses that you could put on you face. Just slap on some of Salvino's weird reading stones and, BOOM I give you sight!) And you all know that we love to call Salverno-what-his-face, lil' glassy! So we here by name his double-miracle-reading-stones-on-your-face-concoction things "GLASSES"! MAY WE ALL BE BLESSED WITH SIGHT! *End regal voice*
Also, now a days, I have to say, our community screwed up lil' glassy's reading stones! They don't even have GLASS any more! It is typically PLASTIC lenses!!! WHY the HECK would you call something with PLASTIC LENSES and PLASTIC FRAMES glasses!?!
I give up on our generation...
