The next three days proceeded as „usual", meaning he fished some time, sat next to a campfire, and slept.
He could get about 13 fishes (6 of which he already ate).
As he had a lot of time to think, he noticed some strange things going on, firstly he never had a glimpse of a probable civilization anywhere near his camp, there weren't really any other animals beside the fishes he spotted, only a deer, which he couldn't catch, a hare, which tasted really good but didn't carry any Soul Stones, and some insects.
It became utterly mundane to life here, everyday only eating fishes looking at the fire and going to sleep on a solid, uncomfortable ground. So he couldn't wait to leave this dull place, but right now was not the time, he had to strengthen himself so he could survive a potential attack or something like that.
And even though he didn't want to experience 'that' again, he had to.
He now had 7 shards (+7 potential shards from the fishes he didn't eat as of now), enough energy, and obviously enough water, I mean he live besides a fucking waterfall how can you not have enough water in that situation *cough*.
'Nah nah nah, I seriously don't want to, nope, nope miss me with that. I will not do that, come to think of, why should I even do that, I mean I could just live here forever eating fishes every day, slowly turning insane and when people find me I will have developed into Gollum, wait… I could probably transform myself into Gollum if I wanted to. Ah It's too late I'm already insane!'
Adam slapped himself.
'Okay, Adam focus, you need to get out of here and a little pain is better than being dead, so I'll need to pull through!'
'Today I'll steroid my back and the next couple days my upper arms, my forearms, my thighs, my calves and feet, and then those tiny muscle groups that are only useful in a couple situations. This is going to be a hell of a ride…*sigh*'
'But it's necessary!'
After preparing all the requirements he sat down on the ground, put a piece of wood between his teeth he could bite on and started the process.
The same sense of soreness and weakness from last time filled his body, his back area screamed in pain, cold sweat appeared on his forehead and a shiver ran across his back.
"RRRGHAAARARAAGHGHGAAAGHHHHH!!!!" he cried out like a wild beast.
Birds were startled and the whole forest went silent for one second.
After it was over he laid there panting and exhausted, but it seemed to be better than last time, first off the pain didn't come unexpectedly and he was fully prepared, it even felt like the pain was not as severe as before, but only a tiny little bit, it was a hellish experience still.
Several days later he was finished with the transformation of his whole body but he noticed that some things weren't as optimal as before, for example: his sense of balance was trash and his flexibility was almost non-existent, but he chose to correct these things later on as his first priority was finally sleeping on a bed.
With enough rest and a powerful body it was now time to explore the world! (His surroundings)
Being careful and watching his surroundings he proceeded straight away from the cave and surely after hiking for about 3 hours, in which he found some clearings and strange looking berries he didn't dare to touch, Adam saw his first "road", that was more like a primitive pathway.
Standing beside it with no leads where it goes, he just went right.
And even after 3 more hours he reached nothing, by now he was already thirsty, he had packed some fishes but how could he transport water. With no other option besides walking further down the road he sat down under the shade of a tree by the roadside.
Even though he felt the strange tranquillity through the gently rustling leaves, through the warm breeze, and through the occasional sound of animals he couldn't really enjoy it as much as the first time he experienced it.
And surely after Adam waited for a good hour he could hear wheels bumping in the distance and after he stood up he could verify that, in his view appeared an oxcart, which drove in his direction. What was weird though was that the two oxen pulling the cart were strange, they were smaller than regular oxen and had no horns but they somehow felt stronger and more threatening.
He waved at the driver and the cart was stopped besides Adam.
"Ya need a lift?" the driver asked, it was a middle-aged man of medium height with a thin and tanned body wearing simple, rough and bland clothes.
"Sure, where are you headed to?" answered Adam and hopped on the cart, it was filled with bags of grain.
"I'm delivering sum stuff to Oblisey. The Name's Eliezer, what's yours?"
"You can call me Adam."
"So what's a young lad doing out here?"
"*sigh* I can't remember, that's the problem, I know that I entered the forest but then I completely forget what happened next and after that I found myself by the roadside."
"You're saying there's a strong Monster in the forest that can wipe out memories?"
"Could be, I don't know." said Adam as he shrugged.
So long it was all going according to Adam's plan, which was as following:
1. Meet a merchant/guy with cart/carriage that brings you to the nearest city
2. Talk with them and get as much Information as possible (use the amnesia excuse if necessary)
It wasn't that bad, he knew that a nearby city is Oblisey, monsters exist in this world that can wipe out memories, but they have to be quite strong and City's or shops get supplies by cart, so the civilization hasn't developed as much as his old world, but it appears to be a world of magic.
Although he didn't know the exact details but if there are monsters certainly there is a force that fights them and that force must be quite strong or the driver would be more bothered about the monster in the forest.
Why the fuck can't I write more than 500 words in the Author's thought but you need a minimum amount of words for a review (I think 140 but I'm not sure), this doesn't make sense.
Anyway, the real Author's thought is in the Comments. :)
