Chapter 31: Warcraft! Battle of Durahel's capital

Sanortep was having a serious conversation with his most trusted friends inside the living room in his house. They had been discussing stuff related to Mays and Ria's sudden plan on going to the demon continent. There were just a total of three people there including himself. Not even their spirits was inside the room at the moment.

"Maybe, just maybe… I think we should provide an elite squad to follow up after them. What do you guys think?"

"Hmm… That sounds logical. Indeed."

"Indubitably."

"I don't really know who should be the leader of the elite groups if we really made one though."

"I'll see to it."

"My talent are yours."

Veins started popping out on Sanortep's forehead after he heard the reply of these two close friends of his. It was just way too irritating.

"Seriously you guys…"

"I have heard the summons."

"Is there something amiss?"

That last line made him snap. He knew way too well where those lines came from. It was after all one of his favorite game once.

"Yeah. Something was wrong with the head attached to your bodies! How come you two had the gall to quote those Warcraft character in the middle of a serious conversation like this? Treat this matter seriously please."

"Time is fleeting."

"You thought of that?"

"Hah you lost. That just now was night stalker's line. Hahahhahaha. Admit it I'm better than you."

"Tch, it's just a fluke. One more time!"

These two apparently was competing against each other on who could be better at imitating a game character. They decided to imitate Lich King and Nerubian Assassin's respectively and after several minutes, one of them finally slip out and accidentally quoted a different character.

"ENOUGH!!!"

"Kaay."

"Sorry."

These two were San's best friend even before they started playing HeavensTale. They were his high school friends who spent time together gaming every weekend. A chubby, tanned guy named Zai who imitated the Lich King and a frail, nerdy looking guy named Ebb who posed as Nerubian Assassin previously. Their love for games was totally borderline insanity.

"But San, if your brother was really great as you described him all these time, I don't think there would be any problem even if he really did go alone there."

"Ya maaaaaan. Even you yourself was way more awesome than those hidden class people during the Great War thanks to your martial arts. This brother of yours was like trained in this same martial arts years before you right? He must be like… totally godlike here."

"Don't forget that he was also one of those hidden class too… The almighty Red Wargod maaaaaaan. I bet he can even solo the dark dragon right now."

"I know that. Despite his awesomeness, he was still a human. Even I would die if I fight a freaking goddamn raid boss alone."

"In that case, let's just send the Misfit Squad. They never help us in anything anyways."

"Yeah, that's true. Those guys would also love this kind of thrilling mission for sure."

"Well… Those people were dependable all right. Even back in HeavensTale, that squad was the only party in our guild which could rival our main party."

At the very least, these two game freak did came to a brilliant albeit questionable conclusion. After giving it a little bit more thought, San also agreed that sending Misfit Squad would be the best course of action for them. It was too bad that he couldn't leave his post to join his brother. There were lots of people who relied on him after all.

"The three of us couldn't go because of our job here. Our main party was practically useless without us. Sending them was like the best option for sure."

"Bleh, it can't be helped then."

"It's okay. It's not like we asked them to work together anyways. We will just arrange it so that Misfit Squad keep their distance from them and help only when necessary."

Apparently, even after suggesting that squad to be the reinforcement, these two actually had a bad impression on them. From the guild point of view, it was kind of true that they never helped with anything and always do whatever they wanted. But San knew them best. Some of them were even the founding members of Misfit Society, whose seniority was obviously above Zai, Ebb and even himself.

"Nah, your worry are pointless. If anything, they would only be glad if they got to work under those two. Believe me, I'm the guild leader after all."

----------------------------------------------------------

Mays was on top of Flamence's head, watching the bombardment with a gleeful face. Almost every spirits of his had joined the fight leaving only Syaitona alone who stood by his side. Since the scale for this fight could be considered large, Mays even summoned his other two spirits to join the fray.

Ice spirit, Erocci the assassin and thunder spirit, Mada the gunner. Erocci was designed as a charming, slightly chubby yet curvy beautiful succubus while Mada was a tall, handsome cat eared humanoid beast. These two alongside the other six spirits were Mays's only spirits which were equipped with full set legend tier item.

In fact, despite having his archive full of everything, Mays never summoned any other spirits beside these eight spirit even back when he was active in HeavensTale. He was way too lazy to bother swapping to other spirits and level them when he would never use them in the game. He really was a man who focused on practicality.

Since Mays was not a money warrior, he obviously had problems with fortification and gear enhancement. He couldn't waste his in game gold to fortify everything he owned. Because of that, he only focused on what he needed.

In the end, after years of playing HeavensTale, he managed to at least provide all eight spirit of his with highest tiered gear which was already fortified and enhanced to the very limit. In truth, it was only seven in total considering Golia's gear never changed.

"Sir Mays. My Master have not arrived yet. Is it okay for us to disregard her and start the attack like this?"

"It's okay, it's okay. No use worrying over something already done. Just stay focused."

"Yeah. Master never made a wrong judgement."

Minerva who stood behind Mays on the back of Flamence asked hesitatingly. Both Mays and Syaitona answered her question without any shred of worry. She on the other hand had cold sweat all over her forehead.

She was told specifically by her master to wait for her before launching the attack. She knew how much her master loves battle. She also knew that her master hated to be left out the most. She was without a doubt the one to be blamed after letting things escalated to what it currently was.

"Ugh. Whatever I don't care anymore."

Minerva gave up thinking about it. There was no way for her to fulfill her master's wish at this rate. Might as well do nothing rather than worrying.

At the moment, there were three dragons flying freely on the sky. Besides Flamence, the other two dragon which Mays summoned were the Dark Flame Dragon and Emerald Thorn Dragon. Unlike Flamence, these two were large dragons.

Among all fifteen dragon mounts available in HeavensTale, only three of them were medium sized dragon. The others were all large sized dragon. These two dragons were around thirty meters in size.

The situation turned chaotic right away after they arrived at the capital. It escalated beyond control after the dragons started destroying building in the capital one after another. Flamence flew at a higher attitude compared to the other two dragon while Mays who was on top of it observed the surroundings. At the same time, he also wanted to test out the ability of these battle mounts.

There were two type of mounts in HeavensTale. Normal mounts and battle mounts. Normal mounts were just mounts for traveling purpose. They disappeared the very moment players entered [Combat] status. In this world, instead of instant disappearance, they just ran away the moment it got attacked. Battle mounts on the other hand would stay with the players even during combat. Obviously, they provided various type of buff or effect for the player depending on the mount itself.

Even the first black horse Mays summoned when he just arrived in this world was a battle mount. Its skill to instantly killed lower level monsters was practical. As for Flamence, it was just a speed based mount. It had two skills which were [Speed Boost] and [Sonic Rush] which were useful for PVP but at the same time, useless for crowd control.

The other two dragons were overwhelming in that part. Dark Flame Dragon got an aerial bombardment skill [DarkFlame Fall] while Emerald Thorn Dragon got an area disabler skill [Entangling Vines]. They also had the passive skill [Flame Convergence] and [Infinite Nature] respectively.

Prior to this, San already explained to him how awesome these battle mounts were. They were at least on the same league as gold ranked intermediate bosses. Their huge body was also a surplus when fighting a horde of low level mob.

There was also something Mays wanted to confirm himself.

"Friendly fire is enabled here."

"It was like the game was specifically made in preparation for us to come here. Even those skills of the battle mounts could be utilized perfectly here."

That reminder from San echoed in his mind right now. Back in HeavensTale, party member could never hurt each other. Basically, there would be no friendly fire situation in the game. But now, it was different.

Attacking one owns battle mount just to activate their passive skills, using skills on friend who could reflect and enhance the power at will and even using skill on self just to induce whatever debuff needed for unlocking hidden status. It was now possible to include everything in their plan since the current world was no more a game.

Before he came here to the capital, he already told his spirits on what to be done when those demonic beings counterattacked. He had prepared several plan should the situation progressed differently from his prediction. He was totally pumped up when he explained all his plans in great details.

"Kill! Kill! Destroy them all! Mira commands thee… Give them hell!"

"ROAAAAAAAARRRRRRR!!"

Mira was totally absorbed in her destroyer mode. The Dark Flame Dragon was not any different either. It roared mightily, answering to Mira's thrilled shout. Also riding the Dark Flame Dragon was Aloha, Damia and Mada. At the moment, they were all on standby, waiting for the demon's counterattack.

"Mira was really into it."

"Be… because Master himself asked her to do whatever she wanted."

"Oh. No wonder."

They could even chat leisurely as if the current situation was not one bit dangerous at all. At the very least, the atmosphere there was good. Compared to the other group that was.

Silvia, Golia and Erocci were on top Emerald Thorn Dragon which flew side by side with the Dark Flame Dragon. Both Silvia and Golia were not the talkative type while Erocci herself had no intention to talk to those two either. It ended with an awkward period of endless silence on top of the dragon.

Since most of the demonic beings who approached them were all mob character, they all got entangled to death by Emerald Thorn Dragon's casual attack. Because of that, these spirits had no chance to showcase their power yet.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

"There were only three dragons and a total of ten people attacking us."

"Just ten? You sure? That sounds like a stray godkin to me."

On top of the clock tower, Babila and the other high ranked officer in the vanguard force were still busy in discussion. They were accessing the situation while keeping tab of the enemies. At the moment, their current fighting force were eight gold ranked intermediate bosses, fifty eight silver ranked intermediate bosses and around seven hundred gold ranked and silver ranked normal bosses and normal fighters altogether.

If the opponents were just those ten people and three dragons, their current force should be more than enough to defeat and kill them. With a grin on his face, Babila commenced a counterattack with a determined voice.

"Dorega, you lead squad one and take down the dark dragon. Dimes and Grot, take squad two and fight the emerald dragon. The rest of you, follow me. Tonight we feast on dragons!"

"Yes sir!"

"As for you Alakan, I have a different task. Get the ancient summoning tablet from my room and proceed on the summoning process. This fight should be an easy one but I felt a tinge of uneasiness from this. Better do whatever we can rather than regretting it later on."

"Whatever your order is, master."

Alakan was without a doubt the second strongest in this vanguard force after Babila. However, he obeyed Babila without hesitation. Nobody presents knew but he was actually Babila's servant sent by the higher up from their dukedom.

Flocks of demonic being shot toward the sky one after another. Vampires with black demonic bat-like wings, Winged Monkey with their furry brownish classic wing and humanoid Pegasus with their feathery wing. Soon enough, the sky were covered with hundreds of demonic beings.

"DEMONSSSSSS!!"

"RUN FOR YOUR LIVESSSSSS!!"

"The dragons are fighting the demons!"

"Ruuuuuuuuun!"

On the ground, panicked humans were seen running everywhere. Most of them never knew that their kingdom's capital was already occupied by demonic beings. They were not to be blamed though considering most of the high ranked member and the royalty had been brainwashed by those demonic beings. By pulling the string from the darkness, they easily occupied the kingdom without leaving any trace.

"Leave your belonging and focus on leaving the town."

"Don't panic. Our kingdom's Wyvern Knight will repel those demons. Quickly move away from the dangerous area."

Several knights were busy guiding the civilians toward safety. They themselves didn't know how dire the situation they faced right now. The only thought they had in mind was to reduce casualties as much as possible.

The humans on the ground had no idea that the attacking dragons were actually under commands of a human, a godkin to be exact. They thought that those demonic beings might had done something to anger the dragons which resulted in their current predicament. Dragons held a sacred place in human's heart after all.

"My, my! Such a grand entrance. Who might you be mister stray godkin?"

Babila who appeared in front of Flamence accompanied by his underling sarcastically talked to Mays. At the moment, Flamence was already surrounded by demonic beings. The other two dragons were also in the same situation.

"Just some bumpkin passing by. So, are you Babibu?"

"Right, I am he."

Fanning himself using his white handheld folding fan, Babibu answered proudly. He really had the air of a high class noble.

"No need for further words then. Prepare to be killed."

"Heh, the ignorant were always arrogant! Kill him!"

Still able to maintain his calm demeanor after being looked down upon, Babibu commenced the attack while he himself grinned at a safe distance away from Flamence. He knew well not to rush toward the enemy right away. Using the force at his disposal, he did the most basic things most leader would do, probing the opponent's power.

Two silver ranked intermediate bosses rushed toward Mays from both his side. Since these demonic being could fly freely in the sky, their attack was executed smoothly without waste movement.

"Heh."

Mays smirked. He never was one to refuse a fight brought to him. He readied himself while he observed the approaching enemies.

However, before the attack even reached him, both the attacker were engaged by Syaitona and Minerva respectively. The long haired male humanoid Pegasus was blocked by Syaitona's Berserk Demon Claw while a female flying monkey was sent flying by a twin [Flame Piercing Lance] casted by Minerva.

These two spirits moved without being ordered to. They regarded Mays's safety more than their own. Even if the attacks proven not to be fatal, they just couldn't sit by and let Mays took those attack. That feeling was mutual for every spirits of Mays. As for Minerva, she was specifically ordered by Ria to do so.

"Seriously, you guys were way too tense. There was no need for you guys to block those attack for me."

Mays lightly tapped Syaitona's and Minerva's shoulder as he casually talked. In fact, he was more than ready to fight those attacker. It never was his intention to hide behind women and let them fight while he himself did nothing at the back. It was just not his style. He was without a doubt those kind of people who loved the thrill of being at the very front of the battlefield.

"No, master. It was my duty to ensure your safety."

"My master had ordered me so. It was not within my power to refuse."

These two on the other hand were adamant on not letting Mays fight by himself. They even glared at Mays when Mays tried to drag them back.

"Bleh, fine. Just don't overdo it."

"Yes!"

Both of them replied delightfully as they started fighting their opponents. Since Minerva was a magic caster, she had no problem fighting off the humanoid Pegasus thanks to her [Sky Step]. She could fight off the opponents even when their move was unrestricted on air.

Syaitona on the other hand was having a problem fighting her opponent. She who was a berserker couldn't move freely without footing hence she could only stay on the back of Flamence while confronting her opponent.

"You sure are full of yourself. You think you could defeat us with this puny force you bring here with you?"

Babila who was still keeping his distance asked the laid back Mays who seemed without worry over the fight. He just couldn't see how these people would turn out victorious against them. The overall fighting power of these small number of godkins were obviously weaker for sure. If, they were just normal godkins.

"Why don't you check out the other side just to make sure?"

Mays's tone was full of confident. As if he already had the situation under control, he grinned as he looked at Babibu with a mocking face. The fight had barely started after all. From the time Mira ordered the fire dragon to attack the first building, it had only been half an hour so far. Despite not believing in what he just heard, Babibu stole a glance at the other two battlefront.

"How… how could this be?"

"This… this can't be happening!"

He was beyond shocked when he realized what Mays just said was the truth. The squads he sent to fight off the other dragons were on the verge of being defeated. It had only been five minutes since the battle started yet the winning side was clear as day.

"Heheh… Prepare yourself as your worst nightmare had just started!"

Satisfied with the shocked reaction coming from Babibu, Mays shouted at the panicking Babila. Brandishing both his crimson sword toward the enemy in front of him, Mays leapt forward, joining the fight without any trace of fear.
