Chapter 8: Grand Dao of Robbery
[Holy mother! Their skillset are sickos! Draconic Majesty, Tenderizer and Mind's Eye are cheats. That's true dragons for you!]
Opened his eyes widely, Ranata can't help but make a huge gulp in surprise of seeing those duo stats and skills. His action can be seen as very rude by other people, especially when the two ladies heard his gulp and feel disgusted when seeing how big his eyes opened. They felt like a little loli stared by pervert uncle on their way to their elementary school. The one named Lumina stare with sharp eye and talk to him with crisp tone.
"Excuse me, gentleman. Don't you know that it's rude to look at us like that? Are you molester?"
"Molester? No! Even though I am a pervert, I never molest woman. It's just that I am surprised to see two true dragons at once."
"What's with that excuse? Hmm? What did you say earlier? Two true dragons?"
Hearing his remark, the two girls immediately become vigilant. Althea's hand moved to grip her blade on her back while Lumina's hand is already gripping the hilt of her sword. Both of them are ready to brandish their weapons. Realizing that he just blurted out their secret, he quickly put both his hand in front and making a stop gesture before making up a reason.
"Hold on! I have no intention to harm you ladies, you know? As for how I know about your secret, it's because both of your Draconic Majesty exudes so much aura that it's so obvious that you are true dragons."
Hearing his reason, both of them lower their guard a bit, before continue asking him.
"You can feel our Draconic Majesty? See our aura? Who are you? Why did you seem so familiar about Dragons?"
[Are you f*cking kidding me!? Who the hell don't know about dragons? Those legendary creatures are stereotype character for any epic tales! You can say that an RPG without dragons are losing their awesomeness.]
Retorting in his mind, it took a breath for Ranata before he answers them.
"Ehem~ My name is Avadhi Ranata. I have studied [and play] about dragons for quite a long time. So it's just natural if I know a bit about you."
"Learning about us? Study? Oh, you must be a renowned noble or royal family to have access to that kind of knowledge."
This time it is Althea who do the talk.
"Pardon us, my name is Althea and this one here is Lumina. We see that you come from the direction of our goal. May we know if you see any anomaly in your way to here?"
Hearing her question and seeing where they headed to, he can roughly think about what their objective are. If he is not wrong, their goal must be tied with him. But he need to confirm it for sure.
"Anomaly? Like what? Storm? Yeah, there is a great typhoon just rampaging over there for a while. But it has calmed down for now. So it's safe."
"So you see that storm? Looking at the time, you must be very close with it. How can you survive?"
"What so special about that storm? Why you two must investigate it? Just curious?"
This time it is Lumina who give him explanation.
"Yes, that storm is uncommon. Or should we say, unnatural. We can sense a great amount of magic when that storm brewing. Even from the distance. It's clear that this disaster is made of magic. If the cause is not found, we are afraid about any possible casualties in the future should that storm appeared again and run amok in the middle of civilization."
Nodding his head, Ranata make a smile. He has confirmed his guess and now he have an idea. He proposed it to Celes and she gives her thumbs up about it.
"Oh, don't you worry about that. It's totally safe now. That storm should not happen again unless a certain somebody is provoked. Instead, we should think about what to do now."
"What to do now?" (Althea)
"So you noticed them. Well, those bandits are common occurrences in this area. They are easy to deal with." (Lumina)
Right after Lumina said that, Ranata spout a series of selected words of insult he made with Celes in great succession, Ranata and Celes has selected those words carefully to quarantee their success in riling up those bandits who are hiding in the shade of the tress and have surrounded them.
"Get out, you sons of a bitch! Come to Your Daddy here if you have guts! Stop hiding like a chicken there!"
A scream can be heard as their reply not long after.
"Bastard! To think that there is a foul mouthed brat like you! Are you not afraid to death!?"
"Hah!? What did you say!? Death? Wanna kill me? I suggest all of you to drop your weapons here and give me all of your items. I don't want to kill people in front of beautiful ladies."
Hearing what Ranata has said, both the ladies and all the surrounding bandits are flabbergasted. We are dealing with a group of bandits right now. Normally, it's them who rob other people. So why would he want to rob them instead? Not to mention, they have outnumbered them. How can the bandits surrender and give up their belongings? Is something wrong with this man? Is he gone nuts?
"Why are you quiet? Quickly, drop your weapons and gather all of your stuffs here. Then, scram!"
Not caring about the looks other people give to him, Ranata continue his demand with commanding tone. Well, those bandits are so weak. None of them have any skill and all their stats are 1 digit. Even if he killed all of them, they are not enough even for just a snack. So, instead of killing them, why not use them to impress the ladies and show them how overbearing he is? Maybe after that, they would gladly offer themselves to be his subordinates under his wing. Just thinking about having two dragons fighting side by side with him is enough to rouse the blood of chuunibyou flowing in his vein. His face made a smile so bright like an innocent kid who have given a toy by his beloved parents. Ahh, life is so good~
After a while, someone who seems to be the leader of the bandit ring wake up from his daze and raises his axe while screaming loudly.
"You son of a b*tch! I will kill you now!"
When the two ladies sees that and about to draw out their weapon, Ranata calmly stop them and said, "You don't need to dirty your hands with their blood. Just stay here and enjoy the show~"
Seeing this man's gesture, Althea and Lumina choose to stay and watch.
"I take it that nobody from you want to surrender? Then I will force you a bit."
Just before the axe would chop his head, it stopped. That moment, everyone is dumbstruck. The ladies and the bandits, all of them can't believe what they see....
The axe is pinched in between Ranata's thumb and forefinger!
"Holy Bahamut! Did my eyes play trick on me?"(Althea)
[Absurd. Stopping a great axe like that with fingers? Is he a human? Surely he is not another dragon in disguise? If so, he must be a great dragon for we can't feel anything from him.] (Lumina)
The bandit leader is equally shocked. But what make him feel the dread is that he can't move his axe even though he have exerted all his strength. Just how much power is contained within this thin fingers? Is he a monster? Suddenly, an impending feeeling of doom and terror strike his heart, creeping through to his soul, like something is trying to eat him alive from the inside, worming out of their way from his heart to his entire body. His brain numbed, while goosebumps can be felt all along his spine. He loses the grip of his axe, kneeling down and trembling non stop. And not only him, all the bandits in the surrounding area have slumped on the ground. They are even some among them who are crying, peeing, or even calling their mommy non stop. All bandits have been colored in dread, fear, despair and sense of helplessness. They felt like a sinner in front of Lord Satan, who can't do anything except waiting for their execution. Even a fish in a chopping block can still struggle. But them? All their power is drained out from their limbs, they are limping like their bones are turned into jelly. They feel no hope.
[Skill activate: Intimidate.]
Activating Intimidate the moment he pinched the axe, Ranata issued his command once more.
"I tell you for the last time. Hands over all your items here. And do it quickly.'
But there is no response from the bandits. Only their trembling got even more intense, like vibrat*r in maximum output. Celes then told him immediately.
[Master, release your skill. Your Intimidate is too effective for them]
[Oh, ok ok.]
Releasing his Intimidate, he repeat his command after waiting for their tremble to subside. The Bandits, hearing his voice, all approaching him one by one with staggering steps. Some of them who lost their power greatly even struggle hard just to crawl up to him like he is the last straw of their life. With trembling hands, they give up their weapons and all items in their possession, safe for the clothes they currently wearing. No one dared to hide their items. They pour out all of their items in frenzy. Soon, all of their items are piled up. Satisfied, Ranata swipe all the loot into his Storage Pouch while nodding and smiling like an innocent little kid given his favorite snack. But in those bandits's eyes, that smile is no different than the smile of demon king who awaits them in the deepest eighteenth layer of Abyss. Many of them can't stand it anymore and collapsed on the spot, losing their consciousness. The others continue their trembling and their body can not be moved by themselves.
Seeing the state the bandits are in, Althea and Lumina open their eyes widely and put one hand to cover their mouth. Never in their 16 years of life as juvenile dragons has they see this kind of scene. So overbearing! To subdue that many people with only two fingers and his aura! Of course, they felt how fearful his Intimidate, too. But because they are not targeted by it, those feeling just pass over them and they are not affected by it. But surely they can imagine how it feels to be on the receiving end of that power. Even they feel like they would lose themselves in it. This is an Ultimate Robbery where the victim is absolutely hopeless!
