Chapter 16: more trouble
watching them eat just the cores i start thinking about how much each core would sell for especially the peak rank 2 cores. sucking a deep breath, no wonder they say it's expensive to raise demonic beasts. it's a money sink if they aren't strong enough.. a few minutes later jo-jo and hera finished up I quickly grab then then and put them in my robe before heading back to the carriage.
walking to the other side of the carriage i see the trio cover in blood while gasping for air as rank 1 corpses littered the ground. looked like they had a hard fight too, smiling. you guys okay? I ask.
the trio finally turned to face me with shock on their face.
"your a girl?" the first guy says
"and a beautiful one I might add" the 2nd guy says.
it don on me I forgot I took off my mask,fudge oh well the cats out of the bag.
" I am a lady, this lady has a name. nyx"" I said with a scowl.
"hi nyx I'm qui" says the only female, point at the first guy"he is zhang" and pointing st the 2nd guy who had a godsmack smile" he is luk"
" nice to meet you, but we better leave this place, it reeks of blood which might bring more beasts," saying with pleasant voice. I open the door and get into the carriage.
inside I wave my hand and the ice melts, quickly the trio rush towards and door. once we were all inside the coach takes off. we rush though the twilight of the night and cover twice the distance we done this previous day.
" nyx what are your two demon beast haratiage? luk breaks the tense silence to ask.
"I don't know, I got them at an auction" telling the truth I reply. I look at there eyes to see if I can find any greed, but their wasn't any.
" can I hold them" qui says with big eyes.
" no, they are still asleep" I replied to back to her
"so your s girl, why wear a mask?" zhang ask
" because I'm beauty and a genius" I said with pride.
we starting idle chatter day and night.
5 days later
at the speed we are going we should be there by tomorrow morning. luk says
"finally, we can get out of this carriage, I can't wait to be a sky knight and fly. "I say fantasizing
"how do you know you will be a sky knight" qui says as she gave me strange look.
" becusde I your grandfather am grrr he best" pointing my thumb at me with a cheeky grin.
"excuse me miss and misters. there are bandits outside. the coach driver said looking panic.
"have us everything you got" bandit 1 said.
stepping out the carriage the four of us look at the 30 plus bandits majority were at novice warrior, a few rank 1-2 andthe bandit leader was rank 4.
"hey boss look they got some beauties" with a perverted stare
"kill the men and take the women" the bandit leader says
as they were slowly aporiched to infuse fear into us. I step forward and summon out my sword"dont worry guys I'll take care of them all"
I decided I need to scare them and show them my full power or they might tell someone and it eoiks be more trouble then it's worth to deal with. felling confidantes about the one sword move that I used in the bar, put my sword to my left side, so make it into a horizontal slash. the gust of wind intensifies as I get ready to make my one slash. "kill Izanami" I say as my sword gets pulled out of the sheath and streak across the air, cutting it as it goes along. a 3m thick black 20m cut streaks across the road, its quickly expanding into a longer cut. before the bandits have time to react, the first bandit got his upper body destroyed, leaving his legs and bottom half on his pelvis. blood jettisoned out, the horror on the other bandits face as they were to slow to dodge the blade slash very quickly everyone of the 30 plus people died. their were mostly legs everywhere, in the back few tried to jump but their lower body was hit leaving them more time to scream in agony before death, other tried to fall to the ground but split in half as their left or right side was to slow. the leader has it best of all. he only lost his feet, trying jump over it. he was crawling on the ground begging for his life, tears mixed with snot liters his face. as he slowly bleeds out thigh his feet.
standing weakly but still standing, I walk over towards him. step by step. every step you can hear the squish blood that littered the floor. trees were cut cleanly in half making everything in 300m visible. as I reach him, he turns and start begging me to spare him. desummion my.sword, I pull my scythe, giving him a death stare. "I'll spare you if tell me where your hideout is" giving a sweet smile
"I'll tell you I'll tell you just spare me" he begs even more. "it's 2hr walk north, by a hill. the entrance is closed by a bolder". he says
smiling at him I look back at the carriage "I'll back in about 5hrs if that's okay?" before they could say anything I turn around and before I step to far I summon my sword anand flick it to the back of the bandit leaders skull, before he had any last thoughts the sword pierces through him like a hot knife though butter. recalling my sword I disappear in the woods.
as soon as I was out of sight, i quickly fall gasping for air. never again, I quickly go try and recopureare. 40mins later I feel better, good enough to do a few steps. i decided to hurry up and start flash stepping. 20mins later I arrive at the hill. I walk around it and see a small bolder. moving the boulder I see a dark tunnel. walking down there was no one here, the tunnel then splits into three, taking the most left path I see what look like to be rooms, keep walking forward, there is one big door. this must be the boss room, kicking it down. theiris just a bed covered with furs and gold piles in corner. swipining the gold, and walking around the small room. I get the feeling I'm missing something, I quickly freeze the room. looking at the ground I see lines that run towards a wall. secret passages, with a quick cut, the wall splits in two. walking further down the worn steps, which hasn't been used in ages, I see a corpse and a large instrument decaying. walking towards the corpse, there was a ring on his finger,
"don't mind if I do" taking the ring i bind it and look inside it. there were what looked to be sheet music and two instruments. one looks like a pipe with holes on it and the other is quite large and unprtaical. it has what looks to be keys all long the face. continue to rummage I see a latter.
" to the person who finds this, I ask you to listen to an old man's rant. I Balthazar markus, am not from this world or universe, I come from a different one. one so advance it makes everything hear look ancient. I was an up and coming musician who wanted to make it big, at age 5 i could play any Mozart song on the piano, at age 10 I can play almost as well as Beethoven, John Ogdon, any of the 10 greats i could mimic their work by age 21. at age 25 I made my own works and started to rise up in the music world from a mare copycat. but then one night i was hit by a truck coming home. it came out of nowhere. when i woke up i was a teen in this world which didn't have a piano or any knowledge of it. that's is when I took up the flute, I started to relearn it and master it. before I knew it 500 years went by as I got stronger a passion for me to make a piano, the perfect piano. I went on a journey and slayed and choo down heavenly trees, used the finest of materials I could find. it took me 1000 years gather all the materials, I then practice on common wood for 200 years to perfect my craft. I then started on the real thing. it took me 290 years to make it and craft it to perfection but it was missing life. feeling death near me, I made my choice, burning my cultivation I infused all my power into it, making it into a heavenly magic tool, I quickly put it in my ring of holding to stop the wind and rain from running it. I leave it for my lagacy, may you play the tune i always wanted.
p.s if possible I want to take my remains to my home universe, and find a planet called Mars..
finishing the letter, I look at the corpse. "I will do as you say" i quickly move all the sheet music and piano,flute into my ring of holding then I put him in his ring of Holding. I think this is themost valuable thing in here. but i wonder why the bandit leader never found this place. thinking to myself as I leave the room and bandit camp.
