"what does it mean to awaken as a magic user?"
Mich decided to say what he was thinking. in response to this question, Jane shot him a questioning glance.
"It's a bit strange you know this term without knowing what it is, only a bit... OK, to put it simply awakening as a magic user is just what it says."
Jane said with a smile but seeing that Mich wanted to know more she continued.
"So you know what mana is right? you might have been told you have it, but that's not entirely right. what you do have is a mana pool, a dormant one... awakening as a magic user means to have your mana pool awakened."
To this response, Mich had a lot of new ideas and theories. The biggest thought on his mind by far was.
"How do I do it though?"
"well a long time ago, when our ancestors were in the first stages of civilization so many years ago, we were ruled by beasts. not literally, but the stronger ones would treat us like cattle, coming by every several years or so, eating the elderly, and sick. so naturally we were outraged, but we had no way to resist, we had warriors, but they weren't enough-"
*cough cough*
Seeing how... passionate Jane was getting in her story, Mich who was on the edge of his non-existent seat, coughed loudly to catch her attention. and coming back to her senses, she blushed and continued.
"Well anyway, one day a young man after eating a strange plant, found something inside him, mana! this allowed him to fight back against the monsters, making the start of the human world! So to answer your question, the primitive way to awaken your mana is to use the right herbs. but around five hundred years ago, it was discovered that a mage could use there mana to awaken another's mana. this way also lowered the risk of awakening almost 100%!"
Mich didn't even need a moment to think about what his next question was, after hearing what she said.
"Can you awaken me then?"
Puting a wry smile on her face, like she knew he was going to ask, she replied.
"Nope, if someone of my level tried to awaken you, I might cause permanent damage to your mana pool. Don't worry though the first thing you do in class is awakening your mana. so you won't have to wait more than a day"
Having received his answer Mich walked away with a lot on his mind.
that night Mich was lying down in his tent looking at the moon through the thin roof of his tent, he had been thinking over what she said, and what he need to do next, but his conclusion as to what he needed to do next, didn't sit well with him, wait. there was nothing he could do right now, he just had to wait for them to get to the school
