Chapter 29: The Royal Knight

"What was that?" the other knight said as he saw his colleague running straight to where the noise came from.

"I don't know," the knight with a crooked nose and a gigantic body said," but I do know for sure is that the knights might have encountered some kind of beast or a powerful being."

"Fuck! If I discover that if some of those greens made up those mess. Then I'll be the person who will be going to disciple them myself," the other knight replied.

"If that certainly is the case, then I'm afraid that the Holy Empire will be done for. Power without disciple is no different than giving an innocent child a weapon of destruction. It's just a disaster waiting to happen."

"Huh?" the knights laughed at it. He did not understand a word about it. "When you're trying to sound inteligent, it makes me want to puke, Darius."

"We better pray that it not our knights fault 'this' time. The prestige of us knights has already fallen low."

"Those new kids better be not bringing us problems."

The knights of the Holy Empire all looked bulky and powerful with their knight silvery armor made out of different materials that could make them stronger. They wore their silvery armor with great pride as they rode their horses fast to the place where the explosion had happened.

When they appeared, they saw their captain and a young man. They couldn't believe what they saw. A single, well, a giant of a man who was holding something like an egg was hissing at them. It was Hei Long, and for some unknown reason, his eyes were black. Usually, they were red and greenish. But not it was different.

The knight didn't care about that at all. What they cared about was the killing intent he emitted was eating away the courage of their war-horses. They kept on neighing and griding their tooth. Darius and the knights knew that their rides were afraid of the youth, and they could feel it as well. They felt like they were facing a giant monster, or even worst--a dragon!

"All of you calm down!" Darius Silanos had a deep voice. It sounded like thunder that the other people had to cover their ears or suffer the pain of their ears rupturing. His voice attracted Hei Long and Captain Mark Marcus, who seemed to be on the verge of fighting.

Starked with a fancier and bigger armor than the other knights to himself compared to the other knights. He was a captain with authority and might. Mark might have been younger than Darius. However, there was no denying that he was stronger than most of the knights here. Well, except for Darius. Darius was a beast of the Holy Empire. He was one of the royal knights who vanquished beasts and calamities with ease, and he had been hailed as one of the legendary heroes by most.

"Darius!" Mark said, "you might be one of the royal knights, but this is my mission! You're not going to overstep my authority here!"

"Well," Darius said with a laugh, "a young one dares to call me to name--Darius. Aren't we brave, young one?"

"Brave as an old dragon, sir!" Mark Replied.

"Good!" Darius laughed. "Good one with guts and grit."

Mark was happy with the compliment. However, it was cut short.

"But not enought!" Darius said. "A man with great power but no brain will die with a sword in his back. Mark my word, Knight Marcus!"

"What do you mean by that, sir?" Mark was getting angry. He didn't like to be lectured in front of his battalion.

"You will know it by then. First, what do we have here? A dragon? A beast? What are you exactly?" Darius looked at Hei Long. He appeared quite interested in Hei Long. He knew that Hei Long was a strong creature just by the aura he emitted, but he didn't where he lived or came from nor did he know why they were fighting with him in the first place.

"You," Darius pointed at Hei Long. "Where did you came from, and why are planning to kill us?"

Hei Long looked at him and pointed at the knight who lay on the ground not far from them. "He pointed his sword at me, and he got what he deserved. If you do the same thing as him, you'll suffer the same consequences." He unleashed more killing intent that the horses were starting to kneel down. The knights had trouble appeasing them from running away. But not from kneeling because of fear.

"Oh-ho?" Darius said. "He did what?"

"He pointed his sword at me, old man."

Darius laughed and said, "Then what will you do if I do the same thing?"

"You'll suffer the same consequences as him."

"Young-ling--" Darius shook his head and ran straight at him with a sword with speed so fast that the other knights weren't able to follow his movements. But to Hei Long, it was something that he could keep up with.

"Gift of the god--God's strength!" Hei Long cast his skill, and his body bulged while the world energy flowed through his body, giving him immense strength. Then he clenched his fist and threw a punch right straight at Darius's sword. "Boom!" An explosion followed suit with just a single bout.

"Take cover!" Mark Marcus shouted as he brought his shield in front of him and cast a skill that covered his fellow knights from the shock waves. Trees were uprooted as Hei Long and Darius fought, and craters were created as their attack grew strong over time.

"You're strong," Hei Long said, "but not strong enought!" He threw another punch at the ground, and then roots started to move up above the ground and chased Darius with great speed. They were tendrils of sharped roots and were empowered with the world's energy. So the tree roots were dangerous as they could skewer anyone with ease. However, Darius laughed as he evaded and cut the roots while keeping his position away from Hei Long.

"Great! Keep at it, young man!" Empowered tree roots gave chase to Darius. Darius stopped and held his sword. His arm bulged as he stored his strength with his skill. He breathed in and slashed his sword at Hei Long, who was meters away from him.

"First form-Sun Slash!" A diagonal wave of the world of energy formed and ran straight at Hei Long. The skill cut tens of tree roots like it was a piece of tofu. It was a skill that he gained from the Holy Empire from his long and meritorious service. Sun Slash was Darius's signature move that killed beasts and calamities like they were flies.

Darius trusted this skill to end this fight. However, when he saw Hei Long slapping the skill, making it fly on his right side. The skill cut the cloud in the blue skies, but it didn't hurt Hei Long. He was fine and dandy. His body was just so strong and strengthed that he could face such skill without suffering any damages.

"How could it be?" Darius's mouth was wide open. He couldn't believe that such a beast of a person existed. Sun Slash was one of his strongest skills if not the strongest. It helped him slew beasts and calamities like flies. However, in front of this young man, it was simply nothing. Darius never boasted to be the strongest in the Empire. But he wasn't far from them. Plus he was old so he couldn't compare himself to them unless he was in his prime.

"Stop!" Darius smiled showing his white teeth and took off his helmet. His white-long hair fell on his shoulder. Darius wanted to apologize to him. Although it was too late to apologize, he still wanted to do it, knowing that fighting Hei Long would be no different than basically courting death.

Well, it was the a-man-proposes-god-disposes type of a plan. Hei Long's fist smashed to his stomach making him fly to where the first knight, who had pointed his sword at him. "Ughh!" Darius shouted," can't you be a bit gentle to an old man?"

"No can do, old man." Hei Long's eyes had long turned green at the start of the fight, but they soon turned black at the same the roots of the trees buried themselves. "I already told you the consequence, and you should burn it to your mind if you want to live."

"Holy smokes," Darius smiled as he barely held the pain on his stomach by gritting his teeth. "I just wanted to be friendly. There's no need for violence here! Such a young man like you should smile a bit."

Hei Long shook his head. He'd live all his life fighting on a battlefield. He already honed, so he was very keen if a person really wanted to harm him just by their killing intent, which he didn't feel from this old man. But Hei Long was a man of his word. So he had obliged to let the man suffer the same consequences that he had told him, which was why Darius was thrown directly at the first knights he encountered in this world.
