Chapter 3: Inheritance

"good! Good! You are finally here! I've been waiting for you for over a thousand years!! The one who inherited everything!" The beast's voice shook the forest.

(this stag knows me? inherited everything? What is he talking about?) Leo could only raise his head and watch the stag with a confused look on his face.

"Now that you are here I can finally leave this place!" its booming voice echoed through the forest once more.

The giant stag head in the Sky convulsed for a second before he stopped moving all together.

(Is ...Is it dead?) he said while looking at its dim eyes confused.

From the mouth of the great beast Leo saw something small and white fall down slowly toward him. It was slowly getting closer and closer until it got to the size of a basketball and that's when he heard a voice.

"CATCH ME MASTERRRR!!"

Leo realized the little thing was heading straight for him! He quickly sidestepped and a loud thump was heard beside him, dirt flew everywhere.

Before the dust settled he heard that same voice one more time, it sounded slightly high pitched and immature.

"I've waited for you for so long master! How could you be so mean!"

A tiny White thing crawled out of the small crater that was left on the ground.

It was a small deer ... no i guess it would be more right to call it a fawn, a pure white fawn with bushy fur made of leaves and small branch looking antlers on his head.

"Master? Who's your master? Who are you?" Leo once again glanced at the giant stag, though He isn't very intelligent he had a guess of what was happening.

"It's me! That large thing was just a husk, this is my real body!" the little thing said while looking up at him with a smile on his face.

Leo looked at the happy looking fawn that went up to his knee ... it was this little thing that almost gave him a heart attack?

He walked up to the little deer that looked extremely happy as it watched him get closer. However the first thing that his master did instead of commending on how hard He worked was to pinch his chubby cheeks instead

"uwauwauwa masther stouawuawuawp!"

"hmm! you dare scare this great one? you need to be punished!" he said stretching the little deer's cheeks.

It was only 10 min later when Leo started getting tired that we could no longer hear the little fawn's cry in the forest.

"boo hoo, how could you do this master? I've been protecting this place while waiting for you for so long!" the little fawn sulked.

"hmm! You acted so big and tough before, look at how tiny and weak you actually are!" Leo said while looking at the little fawn, proud of his work.

"Master is a bully! Hmm! if you weren't the one chosen by grand master this great one would not care about you!" the little deer said with his swollen red cheeks.

Leo rolled his eyes at him and said "What are you talking about? Inherit what? Who's grand master?"

The little fawns said as his face changed from sulky to proud. "hehe you don't know how lucky you are, you were chosen by grand master to inherit everything! You see, grand master was the most powerful Dream Master that ever existed! He reached where no one had before, wherever He went people had to bow down! but unfortunately He wasn't able to break through to godhood.... If he had 100, no 50 more years he could have done it!" *sighs*

(A god? I get to inherit something from someone who almost became a god? How amazing must it be !) he thought while rubbing his hands together.

"Quick little deer! quickly show me what i get" Leo said shaking the little thing.

"????" The little fawn tilted his head and looked at him with confusion.

"but master, you should have already inherited everything, don't you remember anything from before you woke up?"

"hmm all i remember is having many strange dreams but what does that have to do with anything? Don't tell me i inherited dreams?´´ Leo said with a chuckle before He noticed that the little fawn wasn't laughing.

Gulp (don't tell me i actually inherited dreams....)

"Of course! What else would you inherit from a dream master?"

"dream master?"

"You don't know? .. hmmm, didn't grand master leave an explanation? well its fine i guess, this great one will teach you! A dream master is one of the three paths for humans to reach godhood, the other two are sword masters and sages. The three paths are each a piece of gods power and are the things that make up human beings, the weapons master has the power of destruction and he trains his body, the mage has the power to change and he trains his intelligence, and lastly we have the Dream Masters! they have the power to create and they train the soul! Once you reach the peak of any of these paths then you can light up your God Fire and become immortal!"

Leo was dazed from all the information. (become a god? Gain Immortality??)

"quick little deer, tell me how I can become a dream master! quickly tell me!" He said while once again shaking the poor little fawn.

"hmph!" The little fawn snorted "You think its easy to become a dream master? though since you were chosen by Grand Master you must have some talent, but you still cant even feel mana yet so how are you going to start cultivating? Come, we will start with the basics" The little fawn turned around and started walking towards The Broken lake.

(hmm you can be cocky now but wait until i don't need you anymore, ill pull on those cheeks until they come off!) Leo grumbled in a low voice.

"oh right, hey I've been been wondering this for a while now but whats with those creepy bushes??" Leo said while passing by a swaying bush that looked like a giant chicken

the little deer looked at a nearby bush in disdain "Oh them, they are just weaklings who don't know their place and tried taking Grand Master's things"

(he did this?) Goosebumps once again ran over Leos body.

"haha you don't have to worry, it only happened if you stayed in the forest for a long period of time, you see i was in a half conscious state as i waited for master so i didn't fully suppress my mana and it might have.... leaked a little" the little deer said embarrassed with his cheeks turning red.

(why are you blushing?!)

"The excess mana that was escaping my body has strong affinity towards the wood element and that was what made this Forest and it tends to effect living beings as well" he slowly explained.

"all of this Forest came from you??" Leo asked surprised

"yup! Originaly this place was a desert you know! Aren't I amazing master?" The little fawn asked with his nose in the air.

"Then if you can do all this then you must be very strong right?´´ Leo asked slightly worried (maybe i shouldn't tease the little deer anymore.)

"well, not exactly... though i can still be considered a rank 9 beast its only based on amount of mana, I don't have any attacking capabilities, the only reason those creatures were effected was because they are extremely weak, the strongest one was a rank 3 beast at most, the only thing i can really do is have slight control over plants and shape shift which is an ability all magical beasts have by rank 8." he explains as they trotted towards the lake with Leo following right behind him.

"You can shape-shift?" shape-shifting was a great ability! It doesn't matter how weak you are if you can turn giant and Swat people away like flies.

"yes but not how you are thinking, the shape-shifting we gain is very limited. We can either change our sizes a bit or we can change into human form."

"you can change into a human??? Show me!" he said excitedly as he wondered what the little fawn would look like.

The little stag stopped his trotting, turned around and did as he was told. His White Grass like fur started falling off as he stood up onto his two feet. It was very quick, you would miss it if you weren't paying attention.

A second later there stood a little boy. This little kid had hazel eyes and hair, his skin was snow white, and he was wearing a small white robe that fit his body.

Though Leo had none of his memories he had a feeling that he has never seen such a cute child before, but he held himself back and did not let the little fawn know so he wouldn't get cocky in the future.

The little thing waited, but seeing that Leo didn't have much reaction he felt disappointed. The little deer was very proud of his human form, he thought he looked very attractive for a human but seeing the lack of reaction from him, maybe he wasn't as attractive as he thought he was?

"its hard to move around the Forest in this form" he said and then turned back to a little deer and started walking towards the lake once more.

Reaching the shore the little fawn stopped and looked back at him. "This is one other thing Master left for you, it's a mana lake! you see mana is attracted to itself, so after hundreds of years it will eventually accumulate into a lake like this! however it is rare to find one of these pools anywhere since it attracts those things" the little deer said as he turned his head to one of the nearby bush monster

(So that's why they kept coming here) Leo thought to himself.

"A pool this size is enough for you to put down a firm base in your cultivation!"

"Great! how do i start!" he felt genuinely excited.

"its easy you just have to take it all inside!" the little fawn said while beaming him a smile.

Leo looked at the the giant lake the size of a football field then looked back at the deer smiling at him then back at the lake then at his own body then at the lake one more time.

(There's no way i can take all of that! ill definitely break!) he thought to himself feeling a little scared.
