Chapter 3: Your invited
His bed definitely needed replacing. It was a serious surprise that the thing had not fallen to pieces yet considering all the damages that had been done to it over the years. Alex was very happy it was well made but it was still uncomfortable. Springs had distorted out of its natural positions and the fabric had countless small tears and frayed stitching that kept it loosely whole. The former white material had turned a unhealthy yellow over the course of the years. But no matter how broken it was, he was too poor to get a new one any time soon.
Alex adjusted his body to make himself comfortable before proceeding to look at the letter. The writing was old fashioned and the paper itself looked like some high quality parchment instead of printer paper that a normal school or anyone in this modern age would use. It was already surprising the school invitation was sent via a letter rather than online, since nearly 90% of every part of society is done digitally nowadays.
Dear Alex Hackett,
You are invited to join my school called Midnight high school. You might have heard the odd rumor about this prestigious academy but this letter will clarify everything for you. Starting on the 4th of September please head to King's cross hyper loop station, platform 3. Please aim there for 7.00am since we will be leaving at 7.30am. From there, you will be taken on our private hyper loop train to our school grounds, where you will spend all of your time until you graduate.
You have been assigned to Kobus boarding house. Your room number is 56. My school will provide any essential necessities, such as pens, books, toothbrushes and more, however you will need to provide for you own clothes and anything that you would like extra to bring more personality to your room. You will not need to bring your own laptop or computer since every dorm room is fitted with a state of the art Omen Deity, the latest super computer which has 10TB of SSD storage, 1TB of RAM, and such much more nerdy stats.
You will be assigned a tutor group upon arriving at King's cross station. You will also be giving a form to fill out say we can assign allocate you your preferred specialization of subjects. Just remember to hand this form back in to one of the staff members before the hyper loop arrives out our school campus

Alex took in a deep breath as he slowly digested all the information. Below the invitation was a series of school rules but it looked complicated so he placed the letter on his beside cabinet before proceeding to pack everything that he might need, whilst imagining what this dream like school would be like? Based purely on the fact that they are willing to spend out $16000 dollars on computers for every student alone was already enough to show how prestigious and luxurious this school is. Alex could not wait and yet it still unsettled him even if it was purely his imagination, there was a soft scent of blood permeating the air.
