Chapter 1: The Devourer.

Alec is one of the first of his kind. At the age of 3, his mother gave him a sword and he swallowed it. The next day he went outside and began eating metal. Everyone was confused as to what this boy had. The doctors examined him and thought he must have been born with a rare genetic abnormality.

His mother, rather worried, took him home and tried to hide dangerous objects from him. Nonetheless, when he was fifteen he ate their house, and at sixteen he swallowed a few neighbors next door.

The parents, being extremely worried, tried to put him into a military program. However, when he was there, he ate his lieutenant, and became a one-man army. In fact, he ate the entire base, and finally grew tired of being in this planet.

He started burrowing into the earth and chewing everything that came in his way. Whether it was Nevada, Alaska, or even Russia, after his hunger was quenched he still ate everything.

It really made no sense to him why he kept eating, but he did, and eventually all that was left was the water in the ocean.

This seemingly impossible task took him over three hundred years. His parents had long died since then, and probably by accident he at their remains. Needless to say, this was just the start of his journey, and Alec finally was greeted by that genetic abnormality.

A seemingly small worm was in his gut ,and it was called a gu worm. It decided to take residence in him on his third birthday, and because of this worm, Alec had reached the Celestial Stage.

On earth, the planet that Alec devoured slowly, and tormented for hundreds of years. He became known as the end, and often times he ate people by accident to feed this worm. It made him crazy, but they tasted like they were giving him energy, and after a few years he grew accustomed to eating everything.

Now, this worm, explained it all. It was hungry for nutrition but also provided him benefit. Normally, it'd be impossible to cultivate on a planet without qi, but it accomplished it. This worm, needless to say, required food and sustenance to level up its owner.

Alec could only thank the worm as it flew off seemingly also at the Celestial stage. His dantian was now full of energy, and Alec began realizing he could fly. He shot off into space, and landed on the moon. For some reason, he was quite used to eating planets, and left nothing of either the earth or moon.

As he ventured through space, he noticed he could move very fast. If he measured his speed, perhaps he was going near the speed of light. However, those planets were so far away. Finally, he reached out for one of the stars and felt his hand slip through the void.

Trying to examine this mystery was too much for Alec. He was in space and was somehow breathing, but his entire life didn't make sense, so he flew into the black hole he just made. A force sucked him in, and he ended up on a planet with soil.

When he was on this planet, there was nothing there besides a few homes and human women tending to their young. He picked himself up and took some clothes that were drying. After putting them on, he walked into the village and tried to find himself a home.

Alec then noticed he could change his form. As someone who'd never cultivated before, he still had the instincts required to use his Qi.

Qi was the basic force of cultivators and Alec knew nothing about it. However, his talent was unheard after supporting the legendary godly gu worm, the mysterious dragon phoenix worm. It was known for its unbounded potential and the Qi in Alec's body surely helped in his transformation.

He nodded in the mirror and looked at his new teenage form. He felt satisfied and walked into the local orphanage and demanded a room.

….

"You… you're telling me you lost your parents?"

"Well… I didn't really lose them… Its more like they're digesting a few things I said…"

The lady at the counter laughed and handed him a piece of paper. "Well, runaways aren't technically orphans, but I hope you didn't' take more on then you can chew… It's not easy here, and I really hope you make a few friends."

"Sure! I'll make friends!" Alec with an upbeat smile was agreeable when he wasn't hungry. Luckily, he ate enough food for a hundred years, and wouldn't need to devour this planet for perhaps 50.

"Alright, well, new kid… I'll show you your quarters… Dinner will be at 5 o clock, and your going to have to be registered with the local school. If you have any problems with anyone, just talk to Ted the Guard. He's at the Foundation stage, and should be able to protect you." She turned her keys into a doorway and opened up the door.

"Hmmm, well, thank you for accepting me! I promise I won't eat anyone or cause any trouble!"

"Ha… I'm just an old shrew, but you look as harmless as a fly. Why don't you go get settled before the kids return from school?"

Alec nodded his head, and quickly and cheerfully walked inside the chamber. She pushed his back gently with a kind spirit that did not match her old face and wrinkles. He loved old people, and imagined he'd eaten quite a few.

Be that as it may, he decided to put eating people behind him. Well, unless someone pissed him off and they were alone.

If that was the case, then he could eat them and spit out their remains in acid! He'd learn many things from his beloved gu worm, even though it was just unconsciously.

"Well… you strong little boy you… Old granny has to go wax her legs before she scares off the old gentlemen in the park… You have fun and don't forget to have your quarters ready before the boys are home."

"School will also be tomorrow at seven o clock am. Be ready for having a good time! The teachers will probably only beat the shit out of you if you're like the rest of the kids here. However, for a new boy like you they should take the lessons pretty easy."

Alec had no idea why teachers would be beating him on his first day. After all, if they did that, he would be justified in eating them, and perhaps even their families if he felt like getting a lot of revenge. However, he'd only eat them if they truly pissed him off, and he also had to learn how to use his powers.

"Uhm, miss, what kid of school is this? It's not a military school, right?" Alec had enough of military schools and already ate one. If this had a military school, he might as well go to another planet…

The kind old lady pat him on the back. "My darling, no! This is a cultivations school, and your teachers are lovely cultivators in the golden core stage! If you don't know what that is, just wait a few days and they'll explain it to you… Now, granny has to go… seriously do that thing!"

Alec understood that women were different. "Okay, please have a good time there… And don't let any of those men make you sick!"

The old granny could only laugh. She forgot she hadn't given Alec her name… In fact, she didn't even know his name was Alec till a minute ago. "Hey, Alec, my name is Belinda Canterbury by the way… what's your last name dear?"

"Ah… I think it was Bard? But… can I just take your last name… I like it better, and my memory is kind of funny."

After receiving a kiss on the cheek, the lady pointed over to the bed and began laughing cheerily. "Heh… just don't cause too much trouble Alec Canterbury…. Be ready for school in the morrow…"
