Chapter 1: Xue Xin the Master Magician
Earth, at a certain laboratory
Sit in the lab was a man about 50-year-old. The man has a tall and firm body build. His face is neat and clean showing his flowing charisma from his entire being. his name is Xue Xin, one of famous magician that exist in the current society.
Xue Xin was a magician that could cast magic spell level 8. He is a magician with mana ocean boundary layer 1, a magician that have this amount of mana in normal case can only cast magic spell level 7 at very best. but the magic Xue Xin cast was an exception because he creates his own magic circulating system where he can cast magic higher level at lower mana state than required.
Even thought Xue Xin can already cast magic spell level 8 but actually, his talent is only above average at best. because of his talent, his mana stagnates at ocean boundary layer 1. Whenever he tried to form the next boundary his mana that already condensed to mana heart always quivering. there is even one time when he tried to breakthrough his mana was leaking from the mana heart and causing him poisoned by the mana. that accident take him several years to make his body back to his normal condition.
Can't accept his current condition, Xue Xin began traveling to some Ancient Ruins and Forbidden Lands, he even learning everything that likely to make his talent change. To no avail, his journey was not bearing any fruit. in some ruins, he even found a dark magic that can make his talent became better furthermore the best one, but Xue Xin didn't do it because his conscience cant bring himself to sacrifice someone just for his gain to recreate his body. after he read the dark magic book he immediately burns them so that no one can learn the magic anymore.
Xue Xin as he grew old and old, he just keeps learning not minding the dozens of time he disappointed by what he found. it's always his dream to become someone at the peak of magic like several figures in the legend that reach the peak. on of them was his idol the first magic emperor the one that spread magic civilization hundreds of year ago. in his adventuring time, Xue Xin not only found knowledge regarding magic and the other, he also found some entertainment from the old time. several things he fond of was like novel, anime, music, movie and the other series that can't be found any more at the current era. those entertainments he found was an item from the era before the apocalypse began and no magician existed at the time.
Xue Xin at first didn't look to enjoy it at first but after he found a bunch of them and start enjoying them, moreover he uses several things on the content of those anime and novel to create a new magic. he really amazed by the inspiration of the people from the old time, maybe because there's no magic at that time their brain can imagine more than those that really have magic like the people at the current era.
Xue Xin currently observing a box he found from his last adventure. he found this box inside a temple ruin deep in the devil abyss sea. Xue Xin through many things just to get this box, didn't count the many traps he needs to bypass that leave many wounds on his body, the guardian that guarding even manage to hurt one of his eyes. Xue Xin was indeed had hurt one of his eyes it can be seen from the eye patch he wear now. the wound he got from this journey mostly already been treated but still, he cant recover his missing eye. Light magic level 9 treat even missing limb, well it's not like he can do it and he didn't have a friend that proficient at light magic that can treat his eye so he just let it be and cover it with eye patch.
the box he found is locked by some kind of formation that carved at the entire box. even with his wide range of knowledge, this time Xue Xin got a hard time because the formation is something that he never saw before. he can only make a rough speculation based on some of the formation lines, but he didn't understand what language used on those formations. like the side of the box there are four different glyphs each that he can assume for infusing mana on them, the problem now he can only try himself for the sequence for the right 'key' to open the box.
Xue Xin tries using force to open the box but the result was disappointing, his body that already enchanted with magic cant even budge it for a bit. Xue Xin tried to cast several magic to it but every time the magic he cast get close to it, a barrier that covers the box absorb the magic spell he cast. Xue Xin cant help his curiosity he take off his glove and touch the box directly, to his surprise there's no barrier that prevents him from touching it didn't like the first time he takes it from the ruin using a tool. Xue Xin feels the cold from the box as he traced the formation line. when both his hand touch the side of the box, the formation line lit up startling him, Xue Xin immediately trying to retract his hand but his hand was glued to the box something was like sucking his hand. no, sucking his hand was an understatement because he saw the mana in his body was depleted at rapid rate. it even absorbing his mana.
"Bang"
the box opened up creating sound harshly, from inside was excluding a dazzling light, Xue Xin already left his hand from the box and guarding his eye against the light and to see whats inside the box. inside the box was seven colored pearl seen by Xue Xin, the pearl inside start hovering. Xue Xin stretches his hand to grab them afraid they flying away. that to his surprise, these seven pearls start flying to his way even before his hand can grab them.
these seven pearls flying at frightening speed, when these pearls touch Xue Xin body he feels heavy pressure on his body. Xue Xin tries to cast body strengthening magic but to avail because his mana already depleted. his body shattered because cant stand the force that came with the pearl and his soul was taken away to the void by the pearl.
