Chapter 1: Mysterious Cube
Prologue
It was a hot dark summer night, Adam, as usual, was in his dormitory, laying on his bed.
He was facing the TV that was currently playing resident evil, the lights in his room were off it was pitch black.
His friends recommended the movie, but it was not really interesting. He was looking for something scary, something exciting to watch, but this movie turned out to be very boring.
Wanting to shut off the TV. He grabbed for the TV remote but instead fell unto the floor.
"Dang it", he grumbled, the fall looked like it gave him a bruise. How is that even possible he was thinking, his bed was so close to floor it should no even hurt.
He realized that he fell on something. Quickly feeling for the object, he fished out a triangular Rubiks cube.
He was curious about how the Rubiks cube got in his room. He certainly did not buy one and he did not think that any of his roommates would just toss a Rubik cube into his room.
They probably just forgot about it, getting up he went and turned on the lights to his room. Feeling a little famished he lumbered to the kitchen, hoping to get something to eat.
Checking the time it was 11 pm, and his roommates weren't back. He was surprised even though his roommates liked to party. They never came as late as 11.
Thinking there were probably getting hung over somewhere, he checked the cupboard for anything he could eat, he found a bag of already opened lay's chip.
Grabbing it, he went back into his room. As he entered his room, he noticed the Rubiks cube, he randomly threw on the floor.
The Rubiks cube looked really weird. It looked old and really expensive. It looked really sophisticated like a gadget, kid's in the future would play with on a normal day.
Picking the cube from the floor. He noticed the cube's texture felt really odd like he was touching rubber even though it clearly looked metal.
He tried twisting it around, and it didn't move an inch. He was getting quite curious about how this got into his room. His roommates did not have enough money to buy something like this, the color was gold and he wasn't sure if it was made out of. But it looked like actual gold.
Knowing the cube's texture felt rubber, he tried squeezing it. But instead poked his palm, with one of the edges of the cube.
Feeling the painful sting, he dropped the Rubiks cube and checked his hand to see if he was bleeding and for sure it was.
Going into the bathroom to find a band-aid. He came out with a band-aid plastered on his palm,
he went out again to find the weird Rubik cube.
Going to where he dropped it. He could not find it anywhere, he checked his room looking for it, but could not find it.
He dropped the idea of looking for the Rubik cube. He had tons of movies to watch and did not want to waste time looking for the Rubik cube.
He grabbed the next movie on his watch list, it was a movie that just came out, IT. It sounded quite interesting reading the back of the DVD case. Putting in the CD he turned off the lights to his room and covered himself with his blanket an laid on his bed.
The movie took exactly 2 hours and 15 minutes to finish, it was quite weird to watch. He did not find the movie scary, just weird the clown looked quite stupid. Like an elementary school boy and a rabbit had a baby together.
He really was quite confused about the father and his daughter. The father wanted to rape the girl and that was quite confusing, the movie did not give a specific reason why the father would want to rape his daughter.
He was snickering thinking that the man was sexually frustrated and couldn't get a girl so he was venting it on his daughter.
He checked the time it was about 1:20 am, and his friends were still not back. Grabbing his phone from the table, he dialed his roommates phone number, the phone dialed but went to voice mail shortly after.
"I hope they're okay", he did not really like his roommates but they were at least acquaintances. He did not like the idea of people he knew getting hurt. Turning off the TV, he turned on the lights and went back to his bed, getting ready to sleep.
His roommates were quite annoyed by him because he always slept with his light on. He did not like it too, but he was quite afraid of sleeping by himself in the darkness.
Even though he liked watching horror movies in the dark. He was okay with the fact that his eyes were open in the darkness because he knew he was aware, even watching movies in the darkness made the movie scary that why he did it.
He tried falling asleep but couldn't, he just could not shake the feeling of being watched. He felt that it was just his paranoia acting up again.
Felling weirded out from the feeling he got up from his bed. He went to his bookcase and grabbed a book. Checking the title, it was a book he was really familiar with Percy Jackson the lightning thief.
The book was one of his favorite read's as a child. Going to his bed and sitting up against the wall. He started reading the book. It was just like he remembered, Percy being bullied by other people, because of his unknown powers.
Reading the book he tried finding clues in the first couple of his chapters that pointed out that Percy was a Demigod.
He was thinking how cool it would be to be a demigod. But thinking about it, he liked his life the way it was right now. He had a stable part-time job, a car, and a nice place to live. He guessed the only thing, he seemed to be missing was a girlfriend, and that was not because he was ugly.
He was actually quite good looking, 6 feet exactly, short blonde hair, with a masculine jawline and fit body.
The problem was that he was quite an introvert, he like spending time with himself. And watching movies, he was great at interacting but never liked talking to people face to face.
It was just to difficult to try and put up an 'I definitely care about what you are saying' face.
He just didn't like it. Getting tired he again tried to fall asleep, and felt himself getting tired, and drifting away to sleep.
