Chapter 2: Beasts Trouble! Tyrant Tiger!
Ren journeyed towards Beris City but on his way he need to be careful because according to the system the Misty Forest is home for a lot of beasts.
There are two kinds of beasts living in this forest those are the demonic and magical beasts. Demonic beasts are known for their strength since they can't control the elements but in return they posses terrifying strength and speed than magical beasts. Magical Beasts have much weaker bodies than demonic beasts only slightly superior than mortals, but they are favored by nature and has strong affinity towards elements which they can use for offense and defense, they are not much weaker than demonic beasts.
The route chosen by the system is the safest one for him but only if there will be no unexpected things to happen. While traveling the system can't predict that there will be an ambush against bandits or there will be beasts hibernating nearby.
When traveling there is always no certain safe that is safe, who knows maybe while your walking a beast might pounce at you or while your resting a bandit might shoot an arrow in your head or slash a sword to your throat.
Ren didn't immediately start walking he first familiarize himself with the system and it's functions. And after 2 hours of experimenting one after another, he had already know what are the capabilities of the system.
The <Navigation Function> which was the first function Ren used was not flawless. It can only detect the area but it can't detect living things in that area. But all this functions can be upgraded and the <Navigation Function> will have and additional function aside from mapping which is detection. Detection can detect living things in a small radius but as the user levels up the radius will further increase.
The second one is the <Leveling Function> which helps the user get stronger in this world. The Leveling Function can be upgraded to have more ways to level up but at the current level the user can only level up by killing. The leveling function can only strengthen the user's stats if the user wants to further improve himself he can only work hard.
The last function is the <Shop Function> in the shop their a lot things that can be bought. Things like weapons, rare materials, techniques, and etc. The currency used in the shop is mystery points and currently he doesn't have any and the only way acquire mystery points is to act mysterious.
After sorting out a lot of things he started to prepare thankfully the system had given him a black robe in this way when he encounter someone they might be mystified by him and end up earning mystery points.
Reaching the Beris City from Ren's location would take almost 2 days but since along the way he was familiarizing himself with the environment he ended up traveling for 3 days but despite that he is still in the outer region of the forest.
Just when he can see the outline of Beris City he suddenly heard a roar and when he traced the direction where the roar came from it was from his right.
He saw a shadow of a beast from that direction, when the other party saw him it disappeared from its location and reappeared 6 meters in front of him.
When the beast was far away he can't figure out its appearance but now that it is not far away from him now he saw that it does not have any much difference to Earth's tigers. It is just that it was slightly larger and it seems to be stronger and faster than the tigers on Earth.
"Roar"
The tiger loudly roared and from the looks of it, it is trying to intimidate Ren with it's roar. When the tiger looked at Ren and saw his surprise expression it felt pleasure from scaring the other party.
Although Ren really had a surprise expression on his face it was not because of the tigers roar rather because at that moment the system's notification pop out.
[Ding! Congratulation to the user, system has unlocked the <Appraising Function>]
This was the reason why he was surprise and this was like a treasure form him. What will be his problem in this new world? Technically he will have difficulty identifying things but with this function he can identify anything that he doesn't know because at that time it showed another notification.
[Tyrant Tiger: (Rank 1) Commonly seen in the outer region of the Misty Forest, it is very tyrannical in nature and likes to bully weak beasts. It relies with it's bulky legs and razor sharp claws together with its sharp senses, a very dangerous beast to encounter. Known for it's strength and speed.]
That was the information about the beast in front of him and it appeared right after he saw it's appearance. With the appraising function wouldn't that mean that he will not be fooled by anything and can simply use the function to appraise things?
But he turned his attention back to the Tyrant Tiger in front of him and when he saw the look on the tiger's face as if looking on a dead man he couldn't help but shiver.
He just recently got here and now he's gonna die again that easily. He thought that faith is really harsh to him.
The tiger in front of him no longer hesitated and run towards him while Ren retreated in panic.
The length of 6 meters was transverse by the tiger in a blink of an eye, if it weren't for Ren running beforehand he would have been hit by the tigers paws.
Ren tried to ask for the systems help but it only answered him.
[The user must kill this <Tyrant Tiger> and the system will reward the user with 100 mystery points.]
After he heard what the system replied to his help he curse inwardly to his heart.
"What the hell is wrong with you I ask for your help and you can't even do such a simple job?"
The Tyrant Tiger managed to catch up to him and at the moment where he was slightly distracted by his thoughts he was hit by the tigers paws. He was shot flying towards a nearby tree where he cough a mouth full of blood.
*cough*cough*
Ren intensely cough blood out of his mouth. This was the first time that he had ever survive that kind of impact. If it were him back on Earth he believed that he will be lying in bed for months.
Dizzy, he shook his head and tried to regain his calm. He looked at the Tyrant tiger not far away from him before he said coldly.
"Since your looking for your death I will gladly guide to Hell's door."
He then thought and ask the system "System can I borrow a sword?"
[The user can borrow a sword but only for a day and after that the system will reduce 20 mystery points to the user]
20 mystery points? for a day? Although he was unwilling his life was on the line so naturally he agreed to the system's offer.
[Ding! The user has obtained the <Darksnort sword>]
Well this sword must be worth it or else I will definitely die if the system plays jokes on me. Ren could only bitterly smile as he tightly held the Darksnort sword in his hand and dash forward the Tyrant tiger.
When the tiger saw Ren's actions it also run towards the other party waving it's large paw wanting to smash Ren in pieces.
The two of them got nearer into collision the other one holding a pitch black sword in hand while the other one waving it's large paws.
When the the sword and the paw collided a shriek can be heard which was followed by a loud thump.
*THUMP*
The large body of the Tyrant tiger heavily hit the ground and lay their unmoving. Dead!
Ren was panting heavily but his eyes flash with excitement. That exchange earlier stimulated his blood and he felt a sensation he had never felt before. Although it was his first time holding a sword it seems like he was holding it the day he was born.
That feeling might be bizarre but that help him understood more that what he need the most in this world is strength and without strength he can stop thinking of living.
In a world where the strong are adorned and the weak are disdain. No one would like to stay weak and will cultivate hard to become strong.
And that is Ren's dream, to freely move and become this world's renowned genius.
Since Ren had killed the Tyrant tiger he remembered that there will be a reward so he hurriedly ask the system about it.
[Ding! The user has obtained 100 mystery points]
[Ding! The system had deducted 20 mystery points as payment for borrowing the Darksnort sword]

Series of notifications flash into his mind and in that moment he received a message that he had leveled up to 8 in an instant. He can't contain his excitement anymore and whenever he remember his experience earlier, the life and death battle between him and the Tyrant tiger. Although it was only a short exchange but for him, who experienced it for the first time, it was an eye opening fight for him.
What surprised him even more is that all of his stats are all the same as before.
"System what is my current rank right now?" since he was able to increase his stats he thought that his cultivation will also rise. He remembered that according to the system, with the increase of his level his cultivation will also increase.
[The user's cultivation is at the 1-star Pemptus rank] the system solemly replied to him.
1-star Pemptus rank? The name is a little weird but does this mean I'm strong?
Ren didn't know the cultivation ranking in this world, the Pemptus rank is actually the lowest rank. Just think of what would happen if he were to know this.
In this world cultivation are ranked: Pemptus,Tetartos, Tritos, Defteros, and Prota each with 12 levels or stars. 1-3 stars is called early stage, 4-6 stars is called middle stage, 7-9 is called late stage and 10-12 peak stage.
Ren is a 1-star Pemptus rank which is considered at the early stage and if he wants to get stronger he needs to cultivate more. Cultivating in this world needs cultivation technique, resources and most of all innate talents.
If you don't have an innate talent in cultivating then you can stop thinking about it. Innate talents are divided into low grade, mid-low grade, mid-high grade, high grade and perfect grade. Having a low grade innate talent is the worst as you cultivate very slow and on the other hand if you have a perfect grade innate talent the opposite will happen as your cultivation will rise by leap and bounds.
And what about the elements? Naturally it will be linked to a person's affinity. Elemental affinity's are categorized into low, mid, high, extraordinary, and perfect level. If a person has a perfect level affinity naturally he will be truly blessed by the element he was linked and therefore affecting his speed on training skills related to that element.
Skills are very unique as they can be created base on your own understanding or learn it from created ones but the benefit of creating your own skill than learning it is like heaven and earth. The strength that you can display on the skill that you've learned from others is only 60% of its true strength even if you have a perfect grade talent at most it will only reach 70%.
While those skills that you've created can be fully utilized and use it's full strength and you can also use minor adjustments to improve it more. This is the best way because once you have fully mastered the skill you've created you can display it's full power with ease.
The system's leveling function helps Ren cultivate by only killing and gained experience points. Once he had enough experience points he will level up and the further he level the harder it is for him to raise it.
He looked at the Darksnort sword covered with blood. Half of the pitch black sword's body is drenched with the Tyrant tiger's blood. Ren looked at the Tyrant tiger's body and he saw that near the wound where the Darksnort sword had cut, black lines are spreading in it's body.
The Tyrant tiger's body is covered with golden colored fur and the one in front of him right now has black lines spread across it's body.
Ren pondered for a while, and the only thing that can cause this was the pitch black Darksnort sword which he had used to kill it.
"System what happened to the Tyrant tiger's body?" Since it only started having black lines when he used the Darksnort sword to kill it, he can vaguely that it must be because of this sword.

Sorry I'm really bad at making fight scenes and I'm also bad at making the MC talk a lot of nonsense as I believed that "actions speaks louder than words" ( even though it was written).
