Darkness...

Death...

It's all around us...

Am I dead? What happened to Elder Randall? The Villagers? I still don't know who my parents are! From the darkness, a silhouette of blinding light appeared out of nowhere.

"A shadowy figure has once again awoken from its deep slumber, only you can stop him, without you the world will once again be plunged in eternal death and destruction." The voice whispered enchantingly to Merin.

"Now awaken champion you are needed."

Suddenly the light started binding on him and quickly started recreating his silhouette.

Merin suddenly woked up, gasping for air, scared, he quickly looked at his surroundings, it was dark, it was almost like it the darkness was creeping on him, tugging him. Yet at the same time, it weirdly felt very intimate and comfortable with the dark. Something has changed, he felt it. It took almost a minute for Merin's eyes to adapt to the dark, shockingly, he could see clearly after his eyes adapted from the dark, it almost felt like it was morning.

Merin once again looked around at his surroundings and saw the swords of his parents and more importantly saw a body lying at the entrance of the house, Merin quickly ran towards the body with the swords in his hands, but his body betrayed him, as soon as he ran towards the body he felt a clear sting in his body and automatically falling the ground and shouted in pain. Finally, he looked at his body with a clear vision and saw his clothes bloodied a small wood impaling his left stomach. Unhesitatingly, he pulled out the wood from his body and once again shouted in pain and was automatically knocked out in pain.

Minutes later Merin once again woke up and quickly looked at his stomach, the wound was gone, and there seemed to be no blood that came out of the wound. Merin slowly started to stand up, clearly, his body still being damaged, made the entire ordeal a lot harder and painfully, but soon he finally was able to stand up once again with his full attention and balance. Merin once again tried to approach the body, but now slowly and carefully of course.

Soon he finally approached the lying body in the entrance of the house, and instantly recognize the figure, it was Randall. His Elder, his dad...

Shocked, Heartbroken, Merin instantly lost his balance and fell down beside the corpse of Randall, he quickly crawled near the Randall and wept loudly.

"I... Elder... no... Dad why, why did you have to die?!" Merin shouted while holding Randall's cold hand.

Anger consumed Merin, anger on his weakness, anger about his cowardice and anger on the Kingdom of Corinthia. He knew he had to change, he couldn't be a coward, and he will take revenge against those who had wronged him. Suddenly the darkness around the room ran in the corner of the room making the entire room purely white while the corners purely black. Shocked on whats happening around him he looked at Randall and for some reason, everything on his body was telling him to touch his head. As he was about to touch his head, a loud crash shocked him, and instantly the darkness came back.

Merin quickly looked direction where the sound came from, slowly a cracked started to appear on the door, then suddenly light burst in the room instantly engulfing the room with bright lights and a person was seen just outside the door.
