<The Darkest of Hearts>

Inside my small apartment, I placed my keys on the desk closest to the door. The lights were dim from the old, warn out bulbs. A buzzing came from it when I flicked on the bigger lights. It really was a rundown apartment.

"Are you really going to leave that girl to roam the city? She's also a contractor," Krow asked, he didn't seem so worried. That's why I wasn't worried. I'd only deal with her if she got in my way. If she made so I couldn't go after my prey, or if she came after me.

I've heard that other contractors have found each other and killed each other. It was when I first contracted with Krow and was learning how to handle things. Everyone has a wish they want granted, but not everyone can make that wish reality. That's why I wouldn't go after a contractor unless they came after me.

"I'll be in the shower, don't bother me for any reason," I stated and walked into the back. I closed the door and locked it. The bathroom was small, but I had enough room to move around in it.

I sighed and started pulling my clothes off. In front of the mirror I watched my reflection in it. I was pale and my hair didn't help me out at all. My eyes were the only feature that seems nice about me at all. Below my head was the top of my chest, a scar ran from my collar bone to right about my heart in a diagonal fashion. It wasn't my only scar either.

Over these years I'd been gathering my own strength, and improving my abilities. I'd only met a few other contractors in my life, and only one of them had tried to kill me. My deepest scar was from that instants. In a matter of seconds, I was close to the brink of death, but my will power was abnormal, and instead, the other was killed. So, I decide that I'd kill before they killed me.

The world I lived in was far different from the normal citizens, and I've only lived for 21 years. My entire life has always been bleak and contaminated. I've seen more than those coddled naieve children. There are things I wished to forget, yet some of those things fuel my reason for living, for continuing forward. I will never forget the things I've seen, and I will never forgive those people.

"I will find that man, you can count on it," my expression distorted and showed my true self. An angry, revenge seeking woman who will give her life for that one moment of satisfaction.

When I finish that man off, I will have fulfilled my purpose in life, and then I can rest in ease. But that's not why I am doing this. No, the real soul who should be able to rest...

I smoothed my features out a bit, and put on a calm look. It was easier to hold this form rather than share my true shelf with others. Even Krow hasn't seen my true shelf.

In the end, my goals were selfish, but so were the one's who took my life from me. The one's who graced me with this unending desire to seek revenge. I am human too. I was hurt by this whole ordeal and now I seek that man out in order to return to a better life for all those who he'll victimize. Even if I die in the process, I will carry his soul straight to hell! He will never escape my wrath.

I turned away from the mirror and looked at my black curtains. They didn't have any design, it wasn't necessary.

I pulled back the curtains and walked into the shower. There was only one knob that worked, the other being nothing more then a nail sticking out. I had to use pliers to get the nail to move enough for it to mix with the hot water so I didn't burn myself.

The water poured out with a spluttering sound before it started to run well enough onto my skin. The heat still too warm, but I didn't care. At least it was working.

I stood under the water, watching every drop leave the head. Feeling it touch my shoulders, running down my chest and splitting into different routes. My sides, my waist, my knees, all the way down to my feet; every ounce of my body being covered in the specks of trepid water. It allowed my stressed out muscles to loosen and relax. The only time I'd give into that temptation. The sounds of the spraying water became the epitaph of a peace and calm mind.

I closed my eyes, letting this feeling over take me. Putting my head under the running water, my long hair, its length going all the way down to the back of my knees, starting to soak in the thick water.

In the midst of this cool down, I finally let my mind wonder to the places I don't usually tread. Those memories that give me the strength to continue on the path I've set before myself. The reasons for my whole being here, and the reasons I was able to stand alone on this path of darkness. As long as that world was stained in death, so I was.

"Alice, Alice, ALICE! Can't you hear me? I mean, every time. You sleep in the weirdest places. We aren't kids anymore," my older sister, Leanne, stated.

My big sister, Leanne, she's taken care of me since our parents died in an accident when I was five years old. She is beautiful and kind, I really look up to her. Her long, curly blonde hair that touches her shoulders, her blue crystals of water for her eyes. I always want to make her happy.

"I'm sorry sister, I won't do it again," I said as I stretched in the warm, spring air.

"No, no sister. You always do, but I'm just glad you can be safe, if you weren't, I'd never be able to live with myself," she smiled. Her beauty was not to be rivaled. Even as I am her sister, I seem more of a shadow compared to her, but I'm so glad that I'm the one who gets to be by her side. It makes me feel proud to be her sister, I don't care about anything but her. In a world plagued by devastation, what more could you ask for then having at least one family member still alive.

My line of thinking always centered around her, and I always knew that we'd be together for our whole lives. There was no one else, just us, so what more could I want? No matter who would come between us, we'd always be there for each other.

Yet, all good and bright things always come to an end. I never thought despair felt as bad as it did that one day. The day my entire life, my only reasons for living, was taken from me.

"You leave her out of this, you monster," my sister held an expression I'd never seen before. Both of us were tied up by strong hands and I was truly afraid. I wasn't afraid of our situation, but I was afraid of my sister.

My sister never told me anything. I lived life in the dark of a darker side to this world. One she purposely left me out of.

"Sis…ter?" I asked, my whole body was shaking. All this time I had no knowledge of what my sister really was going through. All I ever knew about was the fact that we were safe and happy. Was that happiness fake? Did I end up hurting my sister over and over again? I was ignorant of the truth this world truly held.

I stepped out of the shower and pulled my robe up. I let my long hair air dry, but my mind was still swimming about the past I'd lived. All that happiness we had, was not just a lie, but it was fake. It would have continued if I'd been stronger, if I'd been able to escape from the darkness that had grown in my heart.

Was that why Krow was here? Because my heart is black and filled with the negative energy I let decay my soul?

I walked out of the bathroom.

I saw him flying around the room. He was obviously in an excitable mood.

Krow was and is a part of me, that much is clear, but what part had he grown from. Was I doomed from the start? Would I never grasp the happiness I sought after?

"Can't let my mind slip too deep, I won't recover otherwise," I sighed. Things wouldn't move forward at all, and I leaned against the wall.

"Lady Alice, are you alright?" he asked coming to a halt in front of me.

Krow was a bird, but not a bird. He didn't have to flap his wings to fly, he could just float. Yet he often times used them as if he really was a normal crow. Just looking at him now, quiet, not saying a word, he seemed like one.

I looked at him, "I will break free from this curse, won't I?" He seemed to smile and that was that.

<The Brother has a Complex>

It was now the late hours of the night, so not many people were out except for a few exceptions. People who were out drinking and those who didn't have homes to begin with.

"Bran, you can tell your big brother what happened," I whined as I chased her to her room.

Bran began to show her dark, angry side. I loved my baby sister so much that I'd kill the boy she would fall in love with. Was that wrong of me? Would I regret doing that?

Slam.

I hit my nose against the door as she slammed it shut.

I rubbed at the now bleeding accessory.

"Kirk, you have such a deep loving sister complex. Why don't you find yourself a lovely little lady to settle down with," my group started to tease me. They were rough people, but they meant well.

Our group is made up of abandoned souls in this desolate world. Together we call each other family, being the only one's who would take any of us in.

"Shut up," I yelled back.

In all truth. I was hurting. My younger sister found herself in a situation and I wasn't there to save her. It...could have turned out much worse.

I sighed and plopped onto the couch.

Where did I go wrong? I never thought that anything bad would happen, what can I do for her? If she won't talk to me, I can't do anything. I felt weak, hopeless. I was nothing.

I looked up at the ceiling, and gave a deep, heavy sigh.

"Of course, fighting with your sister must be hard," Mesmer stated as she stood looking down at me.

Her golden curls stretching down to my face. Her blue eyes crystal clear, but holding a sadness I couldn't measure.

"Mesmer, can I ask you something?" I asked.

She gave me a questioning look. "Yes; what is it?" she asked.

"You're the only other girl here, maybe you can talk with her. She trusts you," I said.

"I can, but what exactly happened?" she asked.

"I only know what I could see. And that wasn't much," I sighed.

"I see, it sounds like an ordeal. I'll go talk with her. I'm sure I can get something more," she said.

She put her finger and her thumb to her chin. She looked elegant.

"Alright, leave it all to me," she said holding up her fists. She walked straight to Bran's room and Bran let her in.

The whole group waited for Mesmer to come out. It seemed to last a long time before the door opened again.

Mesmer came out with a smile. She always wore one, it didn't matter what was going on or how bad something was. Her smile never faded. You often wondered if her smile was ever sincere?

"Well, did you get anything? What happened?" I asked.

"Nothing good, but it's not easy to repeat. She was attacked by someone calling himself Jack the Ripper. He sexually assaulted her, and when she thought she was doomed someone swooped in to save her. She says the rest of memory is a little foggy after that. She only calls the figure being female with red hair," Mesmer explained.

The explanation left me raw. There wasn't much information to go off of but the bottom line is that I let my sister get hurt and someone else came to her rescue.

"What do you plan to do?" Mesmer asked.

I looked at the floor for a few moments before speaking, "I...think we should find this hero of hers. Though it pains me to say it, I let my sister get hurt. I need to find and thank this hero of hers. Red, hair...is that all we can go off of?" I asked putting my hands to my head and ran my finger's through my dark brown hair.

"A female hero huh? Do you think she'll give us autographs?" the gang chanted waiting on my next orders.

"Shut it you idiots. We shouldn't bother with those kinds of things. We just need to say our thanks," I shouted back getting into the rhythm of my gang.

For a brief moment I thought back to the alley way. I recalled a man laying in a pile of blood, his head and neck severed.

I wander...if the hero we are looking for is a hero at all. Will she be dangerous?

Town Hall

The day of events unfolded like a chapter in a story book, and came full round back to the initial start. Many citizens' would be asleep in their warm, cozy beds, awaiting the next morning in blissful sleep. Not all are given that luxury though.

Back at the station, the inspectors and detectives were reviewing the notes from the days many incidents. On one side of the room a group of modern police officers chatted, not caring about anything. They didn't have to delve into these cases, most of them were just plain out criminals. If a criminal died, who cared.

In the midst of this carefree group sat two officers. An inspector and his partner.

"So, Inspector Edward, what do you think? It seems a citizen is going around enacting their own justice." Judy asked as she looked into her coffee. It was going to be another long night of filing paper work for the current criminals they've found dead.

"We'll have to capture them, that's what I'm thinking, but we can't even begin to know who is capable of doing this. In all honesty, I don't feel bad that a citizen has taken up this task. I mean look at this group around us," Inspector Edward sighed listening to the many cheerful laughs of his co-workers.

"But if the higher ups catch wind of this, then there'll be problems in so many areas," Judy sighed.

"Well that is if the higher up find out. None of them ever come to this city anyways. Remaining in their safe building in Neo New York," Edward stated tossing the manila folder onto the desk with a puff.

"I see, well I guess we can only clean up this mess for now," Judy sighed reaching for the phone when a hand touched hers. She looked up to see two children looking before her.

Edward stood up as Inspector Dallas came to stand next to the twins.

"Dallas what's the meaning of this?" Edward asked.

"I am Olivia, and this is my brother, Oliver. You're city has had an influx of deaths recently, right Inspector?" Olivia asked.

She looked to be no more then 10 years old, with long white hair, a braid coming from one of her bangs. Her eyes were icy blue that looked too cold for even the snowy regions. Her brother looked almost identical to her, but his hair was short.

"Edward, they are coming from Head Quarters," Dallas explained.

"You haven't been checking in. The leader was worried you couldn't handle this case on your own. We are here to help you track down the murder," Olivia stated her words holding an icy chill.

"I don't need help, especially from children, " he stated.

"It wasn't a request," Olivia's words held spark in the air turning the room into a freezer.

"Mister Inspector, we aren't normal children. We have been trained in this area, as you can tell. I would also avoid making my sister any angrier," Oliver stated, no emotion permeating his voice.

Edward swallowed. He knew a little bit about what head quarters were doing, but he didn't want to believe it. The two standing before him proved all those rumors true.

"Fine, I won't be participating in the heaviest parts of this case since I have other cases to see to. My partner will be with you two every step of the way though," Edward explained.

"I see, you've come to your senses Inspector. I thank you. I am Olivia Herald and this is my twin brother Oliver Herald. We come from Neo New York's main branch under the orders' of Alicia Rosenburg. We will be in your care," Olivia said with a bow toward Judy.

"Ah, right. I am Judy Le Kross. I will be in your care as well." Judy said returning the gesture.

It would be case for each and every officer.

District B- Upper Class

Apartment Building B, Upper Class residence. A place I have called home for the past three years. A place where I live with my aunt.

I stepped up to the door, taking a deep breath.

Since three years ago I haven't felt human or normal. At times I have to force myself to act normal. Maybe this whole being of mine is a side effect of the past. I don't know though.

I opened the door and stepped into the foyer.

"Another passenger car was found filled with dead bodies. Many believe it's coming closer to Nirvana and are in a panic," a voice came from a lit room. The living room was being occupied by my aunt. I stepped closer to see a news program running. The camera was surveying the train car. It was filled with the bodies of the dead. It was so mutilated that you couldn't tell between male, female, child, adult, or even elderly. What they could show probably was nothing compared to what it actually was like.

"Oh my, how terrible. I hope it doesn't reach here. Who knows what could happen if a serial killer like this would enter out district. So many would die, no one could defend themselves." my aunt had a habit of talking to herself. It didn't matter if someone was at home or not. She would ask questions or tell statements pertaining to what ever she was watching or reading.

I walked into the lit room, "Rennie, you're home late? I know it's finally break, but you shouldn't stay out this late," she said turning to me. Her big red glasses filling up most of her face, and her curly black hair unkempt indicating a long day of work.

"I'm sorry. I was with a friend and we lost track of time in the shopping district," I smiled. I knew it wasn't real, but I could get away with it.

"Well, just remember, don't make it a habit. Anyway, you should bring your friend home sometime. I would like to meet them," she said with a smile.

I ignored that, "I'll go ahead and start on my homework. Even though it's break they still pile it on us," I gave a sigh.

"Yeah, I remember those days. To think I would benefit from all that work now," she gave a chuckle at her memory.

My aunt is a journalist and tends to travel around to different areas for her work. She hasn't had a job outside of Nirvana for awhile, but I suspect she'll have one soon.

"Oh, before I forget. My boss has given me a task. I'll be covering this serial train murder so I'll have to leave first thing in the morning. I'll be gone for a couple months this time. Will you be alright on your own? I do have a friend that'll come to check up on you," she said leaning over the back of the couch.

What is she, a child still?

"Oh, well if that's the case I'll ask my friend if she'd like to hang out here every once in awhile. That way I won't get lonely." Lie.

"That'll work too. But I'll make sure my friend comes every once in awhile," she said turning back toward the new program.

"Well goodnight Aunt Rosa," I said with a smile and walked toward my room.

My Rosa, a journalist and my aunt. She doesn't know of what took place three years ago, and only knows vague information I tell her. She works hard at her job and I don't fault her for her random absences. It's the reason she can live like this and why she can take care of me. I just wish I could feel human again and really appreciate what she does for me.

"I'm sorry," I whispered and walked into my room.

There was a lot of space and I could to do anything I wanted with it, but I just kept it plain. I had no material possessions to utilize or decorate with. The only thing I kept was a computer for school, a desk to work on, and a bed. There was a closet so no need for a dresser. I don't care about my appearance so no mirror. It would just remind me of the past if I had one anyway.

I was tired so I jumped on my bed and rolled to my side. It was nice to find a place of peace, even if it didn't last for very long. I just needed to rest. To forget or remember the good times. Here is where I could have both.

"You're looking tired," Shiro appeared in my face. I didn't flinch. My eyes narrowed.

"Go away," I gave an exhausted sigh.

"Fine, then rest up. You'll have a long day ahead of you tomorrow," he seemed to smile, then he was gone.

I rolled over.

When everything was accomplished, would I be able to return to how things were? Would we be able to forget all that pain? I didn't know but I held hope.

I closed my eyes and fell asleep.

Nirvana- Upper Town, Shopping District

Date: 12, July, 0026

Orial Family Restraunt

Munch. Munch. Munch.

"My little lady, you eat a lot," a waiter looked impressed and taken aback. He'd never seen such a young child like this, and he was also afraid she couldn't pay. If she didn't he'd be the one to get into trouble.

"I've used a lot of my power today, I tend to overeat when that happens. Well for now, I'll be fine, and so will the people around us," she sighed as she licked her plate clean. This was her eighteenth plate of food. She was certainly no fool, but she did act like a fool.

"Uh, h…here's your bill," a waitress stammered as she handed the child the bill. She was shy, but also wary about the people around her. It was almost like she couldn't do a thing unless she was given permission to do it.

Elesa, the young girl, looked up at the girl as she was handed the ticket. There was a strange sense coming from her, but she knew not to dig too deeply. It would only bring her unnecessary trouble.

She pulled out a wallet and handed the both of them some money. Before she put the wallet back, the two saw a strange amount of money from it.

She looked at them, "is there a problem?"

"Ah, n..no," they said and ran off.

She stood up and left the eatery she was at. She was full and was ready to find a place of comfort to rest. Unlike food, she didn't want to spend the cash she made on pointless hotels. She'd find an empty place and sleep there for a few nights. It wasn't like she would stay in the city for long, there were a quite a few contractors that she didn't want to deal with.

"You're a brave young child, aren't you?" Wolf asked. For the past five years, she'd been treading a life that she would live by, and every once in awhile she would run into a contractor. Unless they were weaker than her, she wouldn't try to scuffle with them. The more experience, the harder it was to take them down. That's why she would just roam around, waiting for the right time to die.

"Brave? Do I look brave to you? I'm not naïve nor am I stupid. As long as my powers are active, even when I sleep I'd be safe. That's what my ability is, and anyway, I don't need a hotel. They are the most untrustworthy of all the people in this world," she shrugged and found an empty building. It was in ruins and was starting to fall apart. There's no telling how much longer it would last.

"Well then, enjoy your sleep, or are you really going to sleep?" Wolf asked as she sat down to look out the window.

"I'll sleep, but I can't right now. Something is brewing," she explained and staired up at the starless sky. She was filled with excitement. She knew something would come to entertain her.

She smiled.

<Faction P: Ravoria Gang>

A man came running into the warehouse. All eyes on him. This man being a waiter from the Orial Restraunt.

"Come on, that little lady had this much cash just ready to be stolen," the waiter was a part of this gang, and he was explaining to his group about a child. He was thinking she would be an easy target, and next to him was the waitress. She wasn't a part of the gang, but she had no freedom.

"It was like thousands of dollars just sitting in her pocket," the waiter continued to explain.

"Hmm, that sounds interesting," the head of the gang smiled and he gave the order to follow his lead to where the girl was staying. If easy was on the menu, then the gang only needed a small amount of hands. Although, he knew children to be tricky, so he sent a fair amount.

They came up to the building, it was only about 20 men who went, plus the waiter and waitress, so it was easy. The number was meant to intimidate rather than fight. It was also meant to trap the child and prevent her escape.

<The Child of a Devil>

I felt a presence within the building. It was obvious that the waiter and waitress were a part of something bigger. Their roles were seeming mild, and that when they saw customers with a high sum, they'd tell their leader. It would become a game for them.

I sighed as I just continued looking up at the starless sky.

"Hey, Wolf, why are the stars no longer lighting up the sky? I've always wonder about that?" I asked even if I knew he wouldn't be able to answer.

"The sky, used to have stars, but because of the clouding haze, only the sun has enough power to make it shine," a voice said at the door. I didn't expect someone to actually answer my question.

"Well, it seems I'm no longer alone here. Won't you come in, with your co-hoards?" I asked as I sat up staring at the concrete door.

A man appeared and came walking in. As soon as he came in, a bunch of other men followed him. I felt a smile rise to my face while hiding my eyes.

Now, I'll get an even bigger feast then I'd hoped. This guys leader must be naïve. A contractor, perhaps?

"Now, little girl, won't you share you're stash with us?" the waiter asked, I recognized him because of his little puppy next to him. She was the only one with a normal looking face, unlike the men who sinned.

I stood up and started to walk toward the two wait staff members.

"My, I was right to think something of you. I mean, you're different from all these men, aren't you? But, you have a sin on your own shoulder, don't you?" I asked as I walked up to her. She was shaking even more than before.

I looked up at her, my eyes glaring daggers into her shaky brown eyes.

"Hey, aren't you listening?" the man asked as he touched my shoulder. I wasn't pleased being touched. I had more class then these neanderthals. I grabbed his hand and clutched down hard.

He screamed in sudden pain.

"I would appreciate it if you didn't touch me so familiarly," I smiled.

The men around us got in a defensive stance.

"How sad, you're going to kill a child. What bad boys you are," I smiled letting go of the man's hand. He staggered back holding onto his hand.

He looked up at me with dark, frightened eyes. His whole body was frozen, as if he were the puppy instead.

"Now, lend me your ears," I smiled and they all could feel the air becoming heavy.

I spoke each word like venom piercing the human soul, "I've come to this fair city looking for something. I need it at all cost, but I am unfamiliar with this place. You're boss seems worthy, I want to meet with him. Can you make that happen," I asked pointing to a large built man. I figured he was the stupidest of the group and only thought with his fists. He'd respect someone of power and do as they ask.

"But, you won't listen to me unless I overpower you," I stated walking up to him.

"Don't look down on me child," he swung down hard but I blocked him with my palm. I closed my palm around his fist.

"Now, that wasn't very nice, was it? I'm quite hurt, but I'll give you another chance," I said with a smile, "after all I did say you wouldn't listen to me unless I overpowered you." My body transforming into a bladed weapon and I clamped down again cutting his entire fist into little pieces.

The man let out a blood curdling scream, falling to his knees.

"Now, now. It's not that bad. You're friends will have it much, much worse," I said looking toward the group who now began to back up.

"Sinners, have no place in this world," I smiled as I let myself be taken in by the power that surged through me.

My entire fight was one-sided. Each and every man cutting down into little, tiny pieces. A smile etched onto my features through this whole ordeal.

The man coward in fear clutching at his wounded fist.

I finished my rampage leaving only two souls alive. The man who'd do my bidding and the woman who didn't sit well with me.

I turned to face the two of them, walking through the blood bathed scene, not a single drop on me.

"Wh...what are you?" the little mousy asked.

"Heh, you need to ask? I'm the devil," I said with a rotten smile turning to the cowardly man.

"Are you ready now? Will you do as I say?" I asked reaching toward the man who shirked back. I smiled pleased with the reaction.

"Now go, tell that boss of yours I'll be coming to meet him. I'm keeping this mousy so that she can take me there. I'll greet him tomorrow bright and early. If he chooses to fight, then he's prepared to die," I stated and the man ran off. His hand still clutched tightly to his chest.

I turned to the mouse.

"Excuse my rude behavior. I should tell you my name. It's Elesa, will you give me yours?" I asked her eyes still etched in fear. She didn't know who I was or what I would do to her.

"You. You and I are the same, miss. You see when I was a little younger a man took me in and at first it seemed like the ideal deal, but it shortly turned sour. I didn't have freedom and almost payed for it with my life, but fate had other plans for me. I found myself backed in a corner with no where to run, so I chose to fight. For this, I will bring no harm to you. It would be like killing myself," I said turning back toward the scene I created.

A pause with only the sounds of breathing could be heard.

"I...am Abbie, Abigail Gracie Johnson. I...never wanted to be any part of this. I...was left with no option. My stupid childhood friend became a member of this gang and I guess he's payed the ultimate price," she began to cry, falling to her knees.

I turned back toward her.

"Abbie, do you wish for freedom?" I asked looking at her shaking form. She looked up, her brown eyes overflowing with tears. She nodded.

"If I grant you this, will you help me in my goals here?" I asked, "I will promise that no harm comes to you. You have my full protection. And once I am done here you can return to a normal life," I explained.

She looked up at me in surprise.

"You don't have to trust me, but I will keep my word. I like killing, but I am not scum who will break a promise. That is the one thing I will never do," I stated holding my hand out.

She looked at it for a moment more before taking my hand.

"This gang leader of yours, will die by my hands tomorrow and you will be free of your oppressor. All you have to do is lead me to his hide out, and I will cause this same massacre with that place," I said helping her up, "are you okay with that?"

She looked back at the shredded bodies. Her whole body shaking from adrenaline this time.

"I will help you, I will buy my freedom back," she stated.

"Good," I smiled with an eerie undertone.

<Faction P: Ravoria Gang>

At that time, the leader of the gang was ranting about how his men had not returned.

"Where the hell are they?" he shouted in a loud, booming voice, "they should have already dealt with that little brat. What could one lowly child do to a group of grown men?"

The whole gang tried to stop his shaking of the building. The last time he was angry he almost destroyed their hide out, but he was able to get calm again.

"Turns out this little wench is far stronger then we could have expected. This should pose as a fairly amusing and enjoyable development," a man stated as he sat on the right of the large, giant that was their leader.

A girl chuckled as she came out of the shadows.

"Now, now, Shun, it doesn't mean she's as strong as us. We were easily defeated by our boss, and he just became a contractor too," the woman smiled as she closed the fan in front of her lips.

"As the dark becomes light, we'll have to wait until tonight. That way we'll be at our fullest power," another, younger girl stated.

"Fine, then I'll let you three take care of our newest prey. Use the excuse of revenge to help you through it," the boss stated.

The gang held a look of compassion, for only about a second.

The sun would rise soon, giving way to a new day. It wouldn't change the course of a new destiny to occur. As contracts last for a short time, the thought of who will become the strongest and live has yet to be decided. A clicking clock, with each hand that turns it grows more and more black. Who's fated to die in the next hours of their lives?
