Chapter 80: Recruiting Chi Chi
Since West City wasn't far from where they were, Kalan and Bulma wanted to go to Bulma's home. The group of four separated, Nam and Ranfan flew to Kalan's dojo.
Kalan and Bulma stayed in West City for a couple of days before leaving. Kalan was able to stock up a bunch of capsules. Where else would you find more capsules than in Capsule Corporation, where capsules were invented. He got many maid droid capsules, they would do all kinds of housework and cooking, being very convenient for Kalan. He also took a bunch of house capsules, fridge and freezer capsules. They would come in handy during his travels, as his materialized houses did not have the function of turning into capsules, so he would be making lots of houses and leaving them there every time he materialized a house.
During his stay in West City, Goku came by, apparently the dragon radar broke, so Bulma repaired it for him.
Bulma was also happy to spend more time with Kalan, she had skipped school a month or two earlier than summer vacation because she missed Kalan. But to her vexation, Kalan was nowhere to be found when she arrived at Kalan's dojo. Now she was happy Kalan brought her around his travels. She continued skipping school as it wasn't long before summer vacation started. She had also gotten used to traveling around on his cloud while being hugged.
Kalan flew toward Mt. Frypan, he wanted to recruit Chi Chi to his dojo.
"Since Goku came by to repair the dragon radar... It means in a few more days he'll wreck Red Ribbon Army's headquarters. Then we'll be going to Fortune Teller Baba." Kalan thought while flying toward Mt. Frypan. Kalan had expected the Red Ribbon Saga to be longer, but to think it was about to end in just a few more days.
"I guess I should first recruit Chi Chi, then wait a few days till Goku comes back..." Kalan planned to delay his world touring a few days.
"Kalan, what do you like about me?" Bulma suddenly asked.
"Your big boobs." Kalan said jokingly and squeezed them.
"Hey! Hmph, be more serious." Bulma pouted.
"You're cute, and I like to tease you." Kalan said and pecked Bulma's lips.
"What do you like about me?" Kalan also got curious and asked.
"Eh? That, well. You're handsome and strong, and a lot better than a playboy like Yamcha." Bulma said. Yamcha was also handsome, but he brought new girls to her house every few days which was annoying. She had only offered for him to stay at her due to her large house and their friendship.
"It really looks weird with the whole mountain gone..." Bulma could see Mt. Frypan now, except the whole mountain was gone.
Kalan found Chi Chi's Ki and landed next to her.
"Ah! Kalan and Bulma! You gave me a fright!" Chi Chi suddenly saw Kalan and Bulma pop out of nowhere. Luckily she didn't send out her boomerang blade on her helmet at them.
"Hey, Chi Chi!" Kalan greeted.
"Hi, Chi Chi." Bulma also greeted.
"What are you doing here?" Chi Chi asked curiously. She was looking at the construction of her new castle, it was built at the base of where the mountain used to be.
"Kalan you never told me why we were coming here." Bulma also had no idea as she had simply followed Kalan.
"Chi Chi, do you like martial arts?" Kalan asked.
"Yes, my daddy is the 2nd strongest student under Master Roshi. He also wants me to be strong like him!" Chi Chi said proudly.
"Do you know I'm the two times champion of WMA?" Kalan wanted to know if he was known, otherwise it wouldn't really help if he asked if she was interested to learn martial arts from his dojo.
"Yeah, congratulations Kalan! My dad just told me about the results of WMA. Although it was unfortunate that Goku didn't even become the runner up..." Chi Chi said.
"Chi Chi, Goku is getting stronger while you're idling. Shouldn't you also train hard to match him?" Kalan probed.
"Yeah, but it's not easy to be accepted by Master Roshi..." Chi Chi said sadly.
"How about you join my dojo? It's pretty strong. And if not for Jackie Chun, my student, Nam would be the runner up." Kalan invited.
"Are you as strong as Master Roshi?" Chi Chi hesitated and asked.
"Yeah, it's the only place you will be able to learn martial arts as good as Goku." Kalan said.
"Don't tell me you've got your eyes on a little girl now." Bulma muttered.
"You're thinking to much..." Kalan looked at Bulma as if he was looking at an idiot.
Kalan brought Chi Chi back to his dojo and instructed Nam to teach her. Chi Chi did not like to wear a dougi, so Kalan specifically made clothes similar to the cheongsam she wore when she participated in WMA in the story.
"Why are you treating her better than me!" Bulma said jealously. She was just wearing the normal dojo dougi while Kalan especially made a cheongsam for Chi Chi.
"Then what do you want to wear?" Kalan said helplessly.
"I don't know, a cheongsam?" Bulma wasn't sure either as she was new to martial arts.
"You don't look asian..." Kalan made a cheongsam for Bulma, but it looked kind of weird with her purple hair. Kalan also didn't like seeing her reveal all her legs.
"Asian? What's that?" Bulma asked curious.
"Oh, nothing. Haha." Kalan laughed it off.
After awhile of trying several outfits, they decided on a sports bra with a tank top and baggy pants.
"All my beauty is now hidden." Bulma pouted.
"You can show it to me all you want in our room." Kalan said suggestive.
"Hmph, pervert!" Bulma blushed.
