Chapter 3: The Incident!
Those spikes are making their way towards me. If I get stabbed by those it will be the end of me. I close my eyes and block myself in hopes I somehow not get injured or die.
Suddenly, I hear the sound of Iron breaking into pieces. I open my eyes and find the girl from earlier is standing in front of me...Who is she? "Huh?! No way...What are you doing here?! This is has nothing to do with you...In fact we are helping you...Yeah!" Sean is sweating and looking here and there. Seems like he is scared of this girl. "Beating someone to pulp doesn't mean that you are helping me...Instead your making a mockery of the righteous way the knights live!" The girl says. "Now, now, I think we have fought enough." Mr. Daniel comes towards us clapping his hands. "I am pretty sure you guys don't want the headmaster to get upset at you now, do you?" Mr. Daniel's voice seems quite evil...That literally sent shiver down my spine. "Tsch! Whatever, let's get out of here." Sean says to the other guys. "Phew~ That was close." I console myself.
The girl that helped me turns around to her way and her long hair swirls along with her. "Hey...Thanks for your help and may I please know your name?" I say to the girl calmly. "For someone who just was near death, you sure are calm." The girl turns to me and says. "And my name is none of your importance. If you are important to me or catch my interest, I shall reveal it to you." She says to me and walks away. Well that was...Unexpected... "You better stay away from her if you want to survive." Mr. Daniel says to me. Stay away from her huh? I wonder why the students were so afraid of her.
"Hey, you are the new kid right?" The Jacob guy who was getting beaten asks as he gets up. "Yeah..." I reply to him. "What's your name?" Oh no...He seems really angry... "H-Henry...Henry Marshal." I reply to his question. "Henry Marshal huh?" He seems really pissed off about something...Did I mess up or something? This is bad because if I need 4 students by the end of Sunday...I am going to be in a huge trouble if someone from my class hates me.
"YOU WERE SOOOOO COOOL HENRY!!!!" Huh?! Am I hearing things? "What did you say?" I ask as I felt like I heard something wrong. "YOU WERE JUST AMAZING! THE WAY YOU FOUGHT AGAINST THOSE CLASS SILENCE STUDENTS IS JUST SOOOOO COOL!!!!" Jacob continues. "What type of magic did you use?! Was it speed?! Or was it power?! Or was it some kind of teleportation magic?! Oh how can it be teleportation my bad." Jacob speaks really fast. "Jacob calm down and introduce yourself." Mr. Daniel says to Jacob. "Oh my bad." Jacob bows to Mr. Daniel. "My name is Jacob Firefist. Nice to meet you Henry!" Jacob gives a huge smile. I don't understand how can a guy like him be a pervert...He just seems like a fun loving person. Unlike me whose a complete boredom to people.
"Well, to be honest I am impressed new kid." Mr. Daniel says to me with smile that indicates roll with me. "What do you mean, Mr. Daniel?" I question. "Well, I meant to say that even without magic, you gave those kids a hard time. That's pretty impressive." Mr. Daniel replies to me. "WAIT! YOU DIDN'T USE MAGIC AT ALL?!!!!" I can't do anything but give a nervous smile with Jacob right in my face with his eyes twinkling. "Yeah..." I say. "THAT IS JUST SOOOO COOOL!!!!" Jacob says with his eyes twinkling. "It's just my mother taught me martial arts, so I am pretty good when it comes to close hand-to-hand combat." I say to Jacob. "Wait! Your mother? She must be pretty cool too then right?! What's her name?" Jacob questions. "Jill Marshal, that's her name." I reply to Jacob's question. "Why do I feel like I have heard her name?" Jacob questions himself as he gets into deep thoughts.
"Hey Jacob, you wouldn't mind helping the new guy with something you know?" Mr. Daniel asks Jacob. "Of course not! How can I not help a cool person like him?!" Jacob questions Mr. Daniel. Mr. Daniel smiles towards me. "Go on, tell him." I explain Jacob everything as we sit in the med centre where Jacob gets treated by a white robot. This is interesting because a robot is using magic. We normally don't get to see robots like these but they are called the enforcers. All the robots have limited supply of mana given by the owner and everyday their owner replenish their supply of mana. This is the first time I am seeing one in action and I must say I am quite impressed by it.
"I see...Well I wouldn't mind coming to the headmaster's office but finding your other 3 people would be tough." Jacob says to me. "Why do you say that?" I question. "Well, I think you already know about our class. It's pretty bad out there. Plus a lot of them are criminals and delinquents...And then we also have people like Ilora Kaori..." Jacob answers. "Whose...Ilora Kaori?" I question. "The girl you saw earlier, I know her name is quite strange. Not to blame her, she doesn't like using her father's surname after all. So she uses her mother's surname." Mr. Daniel replies to me. "So...She's from our class? No joke?" I question. "Yeah, well, she is the reason why no one dares to target our class. Everyone wants to be on the good side of her because of what she did. No one would dare to go against her will once she has inserted one on you. If not for her record...She would have been a A, S or even a SS rank knight." Jacob replies to me. "She did something?" I ask. "I don't want to talk about that incident or else she will kill me and this is not a joke...She will not hesitate to kill." Jacob replies. "Well, I will just go ask her then." I respond to Jacob's reply. "Huh?! KID YOUR OUT OF YOUR MIND!" Mr. Daniel holds me tight. "I KNOW YOUR COOL AND EVERYTHING BUT YOUR CRAZY TO EVEN SPEAK TO HER!" Jacob joins in too. "LET ME GO I NEED TO SPEAK TO HER! SHE MIGHT BE ABLE TO JOIN US IF SHE KNOWS SHE CAN BE A KNIGHT!" I say to them. "Or you might sign or death warrant kid." Mr. Daniel says to me. "Yeah! She will kill you, more like freeze you to death." Jacob says to me. "Honestly, what are you people upto when there is a huge commotion on our campus." Erica says to us from the entrance door to the med clinic. "A commotion?" All three of us ask at the same time in a confused tone.
All four of us run towards the centre of the commotion in the campus. We see that a girl with long silver hair was hung on a tree in the middle of the campus. Her uniform was torn and her face and body had bruises. There was something carved on her stomach with blood. "You don't belong here." Who could do this to that poor girl? "Ashley!" Jacob shouts out for her. "Wait! You know that girl?" I question. "Of course! She's from our class!" Jacob replies. "Tsch!" I quickly run towards the girl but Mr. Daniel stops me. "What's wrong Mr. Daniel?!" I ask him. "Magic barrier for anyone who is dumb to run into it. The barrier will shockwave you. Pretty bad- WHERE DID HE GO?!!!" Mr. Daniel asks as he turns around but I was already gone. I ran towards the barrier. I know it's dangerous but here goes nothing. The ground shocks me and I scream. I scream louder then I ever have. "KID!" I can hear Mr. Daniel scream as I jump into the barrier. "HENRY!!!!" Even Jacob screams. I control myself. Compared to the training I have been to...This is nothing. I can go through this. I begin walking towards Ashley. "That body is completely inhumane! How can he walk through electricity just like that?!" One of the girls in the crowd questions. "He should have been burnt to crisp by now." I hear the comments. Loud and clear as I touch the tree which stops the flow of electricity in my body but it all doesn't end her...I need to rescue her without letting get into the flow of electricity. I start climbing the tree and grab the girl. "Huh?! What are you doing?!" The girl wakes up and questions me as I look around a way to help her out of this. Perfect! Wood prevents electricity so...I remove the noose of the girl with one arm and pull her up with another. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! DO YOU HAVE A DEATH WISH?!" The girl questions me. "Of course not, I am getting us both of here." I reply. "But you have burns on your body...How are you even surviving?" The girl questions me. "I just never learnt to die." I reply. I break a small piece of the branch and tie it to the girls leg using both her hand's noose and the noose that she had on her body. "Time to run out of this barrier." I say to her. "But you will be fried chicken if you jump down!" The girl says to me. "Don't worry about me and just jump and run!" I say as the girl jumps and runs towards the barrier while I feel the shock. Damn...Why do I feel like I am losing consciousness? This is bad...Quite bad...If I lose consciousness now...I will for sure be fried chicken like she said. "Tap!" The magic barrier disappears as I lose consciousness. "Well...Good for me..." I fall on the ground with darkness covering me eyes.
I open my eyes slowly as I gain back my consciousness. I get up on some bed. "Oh his up!" I look to my left and see a familiar face. That's Jacob over there near the clinic entrance talking to that robot. Jacob comes running over towards me. "DUDDDDE! THAT WAS SOOO COOL!!!" His eyes sparkle.
"Yes indeed." I turn behind and I see that girl Ashley sitting on a bed. "Thank you very much for you did for me back then." Ashley says to me. "It's no big deal to be honest." I respond to Ashley's comment. "Well, if you waited then it wouldn't have been a big deal." Jacob says to me. "Oh yeah, you were in trouble for something weren't you Jacob?" I ask Jacob. "Yeah, someone changed the sign of the girls changing room and the boys changing room. So I entered the wrong changing room and then I was attacked by Ilori. I explained everything to the headmaster but he said a punishment is a punishment so he sealed my magic for a day. In fact, he was the one who saved you." Jacob explains his situation to me. Interesting...The headmaster can seal anyone and everyone's magic I guess...
"You said Ilori attacked you? Oh no that silly girl, what is she up to again." Ashley facepalms herself. "Anyways, I should introduce myself to you. It is rude not to so...My name is Ashley Klovich and I am from Czechoslovakia, nice to meet you." Well I know for sure now that the T.V. reporters weren't joking when they said that people from all over the world came to this academy. Well I should introduce myself too. "Well...My name is, Henry Marshal from the UK's nice to meet you." I say to Ashley. "Nice to meet you too Henry! Hope we can be friends for a long time." Friends huh? Something I never thought someone would ask me to be. Friends huh...
"Hey Henry, I told Ashley about what your said to me earlier. She said she will be joining us too." Jacob says to me. "Hmm? You will be joining us?" I question. "Of course...After all...I want to be a magic knight too." Ashley shows a sad face. "And plus you helped me too...From such a...Bad situation...So...I would help you in anyway possible." She continues. "I see...Well then, I want to know about the Ilora Kaori's incident." I say to Ashley. "HEY! WHAT ARE YOU SAYING?!" Jacob questions me. "Well, she said she will help me in anyways possible and she seems to care about this Ilora girl so you should without any doubt know about the Ilora-" I get interrupted by a familiar voice. "What do you want to know about me?" I turn around and see Ilora standing there.
"Shit! This is bad." Jacob says as he sweats. "I want to talk to you." I say to Ilora standing looking straight towards me with her anger filled eyes. "And why would I waste my time talking to you? Plus I only came here to check on Ashley who seems to be just fine. So I will be taking my leave." Ilora swirls around and begins making her way back. "Do you wish to be a knight?" I question Ilora. Ilora stops. "It's obvious yeah...Don't ask those kind of dumb questions to me. The only reason I am here is because I want to be a knight and so are everyone else." It's obvious that Ilora doesn't know about what class Rizing really is...If only they wouldn't have kept such secrets it wouldn't have been like this. "I just realised...You already should know about you not being able to be a knigh-" A spiky ice lands near Jacob's face and shattering into pieces near a wall interrupting him. "Shut...Up..." Ilora says those two words with heavy weight and leaves. "Wow....I survived...Somehow..." Jacob's spirit breaks and he sits on the ground leaving a huge sigh.
"What did you mean by she already knows?" I question Jacob. "Well...You see...Ilora's real name isn't Ilora Kaori. Kaori is her mother's maiden name. Rather it's Ilora...Kanda..." Ashley answers my question. "Kanda? What's such a big deal in that?" I question. "Don't you know?" Jacob asks me as he gets up. "Know what?" I ask. "The headmaster's name, it's Kurio Kanda." Jacob answers. "And Ilora is his daughter." I say. "That is correct but Ilora...She treats her father as an enemy." Ashley says. "It's all because of that damn incident..." She continues. "You wanted to know about Ilora's past didn't you, Henry?" Ashley asks. "Wait! Your really going to speak about it?" Jacob questions Ashley. Ashley nods.
"It was last year when Ilora joined the academy along with me. During that time, Ilora always had a smile on her face no matter what trouble came to her. She was a very bright student just like she is now. Her mother was a teacher here in this academy...Before it happened." Ashley says.
"One night...I don't know what happened exactly but when I reached the class next morning all that me and the other students saw was Ilora holding onto her mother and 10 students killed brutally. From that day, her eyes have had these intense anger in them. Like she would kill you in a moment if you do something wrong. That's all we all know about that incident. We don't know why she hates her father or why she attacks people who talk about that incident." Ashley explains to me.
"I understand why everyone is afraid of her but why do they don't talk about the incident?" I question. "Because Ilora brutally injured few students who were talking about that incident not long after that." Jacob answers me. "I see...So everyone is afraid of her huh?" I jump off my bed. "Hmm? Where are you going?" Jacob asks me as I leave the clinic. "Just to take fresh breathe on the rooftop." I reply and make my way towards the rooftop.
I reach the rooftop and look at Ilora standing in front of me taking a fresh breathe. "I told you I have no interest in talking to you." Ilora says. "How did you know I was here?" I ask. "It's simple because you leak out your mana. You have no control over it." Ilora says as she turns around swirling her long hair. Her anger filled eyes look at me. "I can't even enjoy this fresh air." Ilora says as she goes past me. "Don't you want to be knight?" I ask. "A knight? You must be joking. There is no hope for us. We are just mercenaries that are treated like trash, nothing else." Ilora replies. "What if I say there is a way for us to be knights?" I ask Ilora. "Stop joking, it's not funny." Ilora replies. "I can help you achieve that status of knight." I say, "What do you expect me to say? My hero, help me, make me a knight~ The dream of becoming a knight is just a joke for team Rizing. Forget about it." Ilora says to me. "If you don't believe me that don't but if you trust me this once I promise you this team will be knights. I know you hate your father for some reason but that is no reason to stop chasing your dream because even if that dream is untouchable in your eyes, others might help you achieve it. Trust me, you can't be anyone without someone." I begin to make my way towards the fresh air in front of me. "Meet me at the headmaster's office at morning 9 on Sunday. I will be waiting." I say. I turn my head around and see that Ilora has her fists clenched. She rages off the rooftop and slams the door behind me. I expected that. Hopefully...She comes on Sunday.
