Chapter 105: Lucy Heartfilia (1) Part II
It's been about two days since I met chibi Lucy and I have to say from what I have been able to see when I sneaked inside the mansion, I was once again reminded that this is different from Fairy Tail the story. In the canon version, Lucy's father was stern and didn't show any emotion on his face but this happened after Layla died. Deep inside he was a good man who wanted what's best for Lucy even if that really wasn't. That was proven later on when he reunited with Lucy.
But here, he is arrogant, egoistical and indifferent. Layla had told me that this only happened after he started getting all the money and fame after they started their company. At first it was only arrogance that showed up in him but soon he became the typical rich asshole. Spending money on prostitutes and cheating on Layla was one of them, slowly growing indifferent to his family was another.
Anyways, from what I was able to see, he had basically ignored Lucy completely. Leaving her to the servants to take care of and only met her when it was time to eat, and even that was not happening that often as he dines with his clients or mistresses.
On one hand I was pretty mad at the guy for how he was treating Lucy but on the other hand, doing what I came here to do would go much smoother without his interference. Why does that sound like I'm going to kidnap her or something? Meh.
Right now I am watching as Lucy has once again sneaked out of the mansion, though this time empty handed. But seriously, what are the guards of this place doing. I mean they are letting a twelve year old sneak past them time and again. A normally sane person would have upped their guard duty by now, I mean that is both the logical and responsible thing to do after all. But again, I won't turn down this golden opportunity though truthfully it's happening so often that I don't know if I can call it a golden opportunity anymore.
Anyway, I'm getting sidetracked. Again. I watched as Lucy once again entered the forest and started to look around. Oh my, looking for little old me? Well, I guess I'll wait for a while more before showing up in front of her.
"What are you doing?" After a few minutes of stalki*cough* following, I spoke from a tree branch right in front of her which caused her to jump in surprise.
"Don't do that." She, obviously not happy with being startled yelled so at me while pointing a finger at me while the other hand was on her hips.
"Riiiight. Again, what are you doing? Don't tell me you are running away again?" I gave her a blank stare as I said that which caused her to falter in her bravado before once again questioning her. Not that I didn't know what she was doing of course.
"Well, you said you could train me so I came to train. And I also don't have any friends so I was hoping we could become friends." Lucy started off strong but at the end of her answer, she was wiggling nervousness and sadness. Of course I knew she didn't have any friends and wouldn't have any until meeting Natsu and Happy but I didn't let that show on my face and instead just nodded at her which put a smile on her face.
"While I did say I would train you, I can't really spend all my time with you since I have my own training to do. And as I said before, I won't be teaching you any magic. That's for you to figure out." Although I could teach her some common magic, I don't want her to divide her attention from celestial magic too much. Maybe in the future I could teach her something else but for now, just training her physically is fine.
"That's okay, I already know which magic I want to use. I'm going to become a celestial mage like my mother. After I get bigger and stronger, I am going to go and search for the keys one day." She spoke proudly once she heard what I just said and I just raised an eyebrow at that though inside I wondered if she somehow found out about her mother's magic already.
"Alright then. Now, I'll set up a schedule for you. Every morning at nine o'clock you are going to meet me here to start training but only after you tell your guards that you are going out. Whether you tell them you are going out to play or explore or whatever, I don't care. As long as you tell them I'm fine with it. As for what you're going to learn, I'll think of something. For today though, we can just hang out. I mean we have become friends after all." After listing out these things, I gave her a smile which she returned and soon enough we headed out into the town.
We were just walking around and looking at things but since Lucy rarely got out of the mansion, she was seeing a lot of new things. And since I was the only one here to talk to her, she asked questions on what caught her curiosity and I answered them dutifully.
After around half an hour of walking around, Lucy got a bit tired so we went to a restaurant to eat something. And since two twelve year olds coming to a restaurant by themselves wasn't exactly a common sight, it took some time to convince the owner that we weren't lost or anything like that and just here to eat.
While waiting for the food to arrive, Lucy and I started to talk to each other. We talked about each other's likes, dislikes and dreams. When I told her my dream of having a harem, she asked what it was. To which I just told her that I'll tell her later. But now that I think about it, Lucy is probably the only one I told that I want a harem on the first real conversation. I mean, I did tell the others at one point one way or another but never when we just met.
But other than that, we had fun just talking to each other and then when the food came we started to eat. While eating I had noticed a few of the guards at Lucy's mansion looking for her outside but decided to just ignore them. If it took them this long to search for her, then having them run around for a while longer as a little punishment is good enough.
After I paid for the food once we were finished, I told her that the guards of her mansion were looking for her. She didn't want to leave yet but I convinced her otherwise. I told her that she needed to prepare for tomorrow when I begin training her. And I also told her that I would be sneaking her inside the mansion so that she can prank the servants by coming out of her room when they had probably already checked there.
The following twenty or so minutes followed by as I dropped Lucy in her room as I watched chaos among the servants unfold as Lucy came out of her room just as a two of the head servants were nearby. After that, I went to the small tree house I made near the area where I will be training Lucy and headed off to get some sleep.
While I laid on my makeshift bed, I thought of the future and also the past. At least the past where I existed in this world. I had my work cut out for me but I knew I'll do fine when the time comes. I am prepared enough as it is and I'm not going to be stopping my plans on getting stronger. With those thoughts and also on how to best train Lucy, I nodded off to dreamland, ready for the next day.
