Chapter 4: Chapter 04: Failed to Track.
Winter, January 03, Year 4611, Boundless Realm Headquarters, Ancient Dragon Kingdom, Seven Dragon Continent.
A glass broken into pieces after being throw by a tanned and long-black hair man. He was very furious while looking at some people who kneeling in front of him with pale face. As if he wants to eat alive those people, he gritted his teeth strongly. His chest was going up and down every time he was breath in and exhale. His vein is bulged out while his hands grip tightly.
"How come there still no information about that bastard!?" He roared his inner heart with bloodshot eyes.
"Sir … Sir Gillant, we were truly sorry! We had failed to track the former leader!" One of the people who kneeling answering. He was damn scare till his body wet with sweat. Other people was trembling and keep their mouth shut.
The man name Gillant, the former assistant of Albert, was glared them with cold eyes. His golden-yellow eyes looking at this useless men with disdain. How come hundreds men like them can't even catch a single person? He didn't think Albert was this slippery till no one can track him after he successful flee. But he was very sure Albert won't be able escape for long time. Albert's meridian injured quite heavy and he was weaker than normally. So, normal people like these useless men could still kill him with outnumber.
No matter how many treasures Albert possessed, Gillant believe he wasn't invisible. One day, Albert's treasure would be exhausted and he wouldn't have anything else to protecting him. Albert would die for sure, that's Gillant dreamed.
"All of you dismiss!" Gillant scorned when looking at this useless men.
Seeing everyone leave, Gillant stood there alone silently. He knows Albert is very smart and meticulous. Every plans that Albert make always end up with success, but still leaving a hidden danger within. If not because of this, Gillant may not brave enough to make a plan to betray him.
Too bad the plan he planned carefully failed to kill Albert. Now, he doesn't know what happen to Albert. Is he still alive and well, or he is about to die in the middle of snow? Gillant really didn't know. He wishes he could see everything in this world so he wouldn't always feel worried like now.
He bites his lower lips. "Albert, I hope right now you were buried at snow and never awake!"

Sound of door crashing down waking Ace and other from their sleep. He was surprised and also wondered who would have barged in in the middle of night. Was it some bad guys? Bandits? No, he surely remembered there's no bandits around here. He and other kids already live here more than three months and never meet any bandit. But if it was really some bandits, why would they barged in? There wasn't any expensive stuff in here. Also, this place is run-down. No matter how it's look, other people may think this place may empty and being abandoned because other than beggar, no decent people want to live in this kind of place …
So, from Ace's analyzed, he makes a conclusion. Maybe, those who barge in was looking for Albert! He hurried stand up from bed and look for a weapon. Sharra see Ace suddenly take a weapon. She knows something not right, so she asked the other kids, who just wake up because startled by a loud sound, to silent. Sooner or later, Ace know those people will come to their room …
Another door being kicked and that door is from the kids' room. Once again the kids were startled. Ace stepped in front, tried to protect them from these strangers. Ace looked at them with caution. These strangers wore a black mantle with a hood hiding their faces. Also, this place is quite dark with only fireplace as their light and warmer. Even without their hoods, Ace still couldn't see their face clearly.
"Who … who are you guys!?" Ace mustered his courage. He knows these guys come not to find them. He starts to remember what Albert said to them, as long they pretended not knowing anything, everything may be fine. "What do you want?" He tried his best to calm his palpitate heart.
Those black guys silently observed them. They suddenly scorned after long silent. Seeing their target wasn't there, they turn around and leave as if never come there. Other people already checking all the house's room and there was no other living person presence aside from those five kids.
Ace gave a deep sigh when he saw those men go. He was worried if he could truly tell some lies if those men asking him. If his lies being detected, then their life may end today! But thank goodness, those people didn't ask them anything since they just a kid!
From distant, Albert narrowed his eyes while hiding his presence. If those men tried to harm those kids, he would make a move in instant. His hand grabbing his weapon tightly while keep staring at the run-down house. His sight was strong, so he could see those men haven't touch the kids.
It's only less than five minutes after those men barged in, but Albert feels it was like a whole day when he waiting there. He was slightly nervous, worrying about those kids' safety. Only when he saw those men headed out without injure anyone, he could feel relieved.
He didn't hurry to enter and check the kids. He still had to make sure no other group pursuit coming and barging in again. If other group come when he was with the kids, then they would be doom!
About five hour passed. Sky gradually becoming bright and sun is about to arise. Albert patiently waited at outside while glancing to run-down house time to time. Sometime he catches Ace presence standing in the front of house. As if Ace was worried about him, he was frowning when looking around. He can tell Ace didn't dare to shout for calling him, afraid to attract unwanted attentions.
Only when sun has risen, Albert decided to head back so the kids won't be worry anymore. He was quite sure if those men try to track him, they won't stay more than a day in the same place. He believes they already move to other spot since they believe he won't stop at one place. If he was easily tracked by other, then they won't need to send out bunch of men to search him.
"Sir!" Ace looked surprise when he saw Albert come in. "Are you alright? Last night, some people suddenly barged in as if looking … for you?" He wasn't sure about this.
Albert nodded. "Did you kids already eat?"
The kids shake their heads. They didn't have any mood to eat after what happened.
"Prepare some meals. After we eat, we shall leave this place. Move faster since I also don't know if those bunch men would come back again or not. This place is not safe." He ordered the kids.
The kids look each other for a while. Then, they hurried to cook since it's better if everything done sooner.
When the meals prepared, the kids wolfed down their meals as if their life in the line. Albert can't help but twitching his mouth and make a small cough. "Take it slower. This place may not safe, but eating too fast won't be good for your digest system. Also, you may get choke." He also wants to say that this is their period grow time and they need a lot nutrition, but he feels this isn't the right time to say it.
They nodded their heads in unison and slowly eating their meals. After they done, Albert take out some thick mantles from his space and giving it to the kids. Since the weather is cold, even in day, he didn't want them to catch cold while they heading to the nearby town.
"Sir, I see you didn't use any mantle when head back. Aren't you cold?" Reala asked after Sharra helped her wearing a mantle.
"I didn't need any. As long I have my spiritual power, I can make my body warm without any mantle." Albert patiently explain.
"Wow! Being cultivator indeed awesome! You didn't have to worry if winter came!" Reala's eyes was glittered. "I can wait to be a cultivator!"
Albert silently nodded when he saw her spirit. "Ready?" He glanced to all kids.
All kids nodded in unison.
Everyone already used their own mantle. Now it's time for finishing touch. Albert decided to applying skin mask to his face. This skin mask was a high grade mask and can change other appearance. If someone didn't have a very sharp sight, then they couldn't tell the different between fake skin and real skin.
After applying skin mask, the kids were agape while looking at Albert's face. It's totally different from before! Aside from his hair and eyes, only Albert's facial and his vibe chance.
Somehow, Kyle didn't feel afraid like usual. Albert's cold face still there, but it wasn't unapproachable as before. Don't know why, but this skin mask makes him more … mundane?
"Aww! Your handsome face is gone!" Unexpected Reala suddenly complaint.
Everyone looked at Reala with facepalmed. Girl, don't you know how to read situation? Albert can't help but twitching his lips.
