Chapter 11: Why are you still here?
Today Feng Mian was in a particularly happy mood. This morning she didn't yell at her employees and fire anyone. She was even whistling a tune when she got down from her car. Walking into the company's lobby towards the elevator for her office, she greeted every employee that she knew.
The business contract with Mr D'Avino has successfully been agreed upon, last night thanks to her best friend. However, upon walking into her office she was given a fright.
"AH! Ying Yue? Why are you still here?"
Upon walking into her office, she saw Ying Yue laying on the floor of her office with her arm covering her eyes.
"You were meant to return to your country last night"
Everyone in the world knew of Lady Ying's feats three years ago. The biggest island between the east and western countries was claimed by her best friend, Ying Yue. At that time of her divorce, the agreement period between China and the United States was over and the higher-ups were fighting over who the island belonged to.
For two years, she stayed in the United States aiding their president to further develop his economy before she was given the island as a reward. On the same day, she was given consent to own island by the Government of China. So she ended up owning the country. Ying Yue named the country Ying.
"Feng Mian ... what should I do?" Unlike Feng Mian, Ying Yue was depressed.
Feng Mian quickly made her way over to her friend and laid down beside her, staring at the ceiling. "Darling, what's wrong?"
"You didn't ask. Why don't you ask?" asked Ying Yue. It's been 5 years and besides Feng Yu who was there on the night, no one else knew the reason for their divorce. Apart from him. However, until now even though Feng Mian knew they divorced, she never once asked.
However, Feng Mian just replied back with another question. "Would you have told me if I asked?"
And to that she stayed silent because they both knew she wouldn't have spoken.
Feng Mian turned her head to the side and stared at her, "Well? You speaking about this means you're ready to talk about it. What happened?"
"I don't know what happened. He just came home one day and decided that he didn't love me anymore. He decided that he wanted to throw it all away" and at that point in time then Ying Yue knew she was going to be fine because for the first time she never bawled her eyes out when she thought of him.
Feng Mian was silent not because she didn't have anything to say, but she didn't know if she should say it.
"I can feel your questions, stop hesitating, it's not like you. Just ask me"
"...Who initiated the divorce?"
"He did"
"Why?", Feng Mian rolled over and blocked the ceiling from Ying Yue's view with her head, "Tell me so I have a reason to march into his office and cause chaos".
At any other time, Ying Yue would have laughed and her friend's strong personality but this time she just turned her head towards the window on the opposite side of her, watching the busy traffic of China in the morning.
"I don't know why. He pushed me away without telling me why. In his heart, I wasn't worth an explanation"
At this Feng Mian dejectedly flopped back down and sighed. And she had prepared for 5 years to beat that guy up the second Ying Yue told her the reason he left her best friend in pieces. To think there wouldn't even be a reason.
So now there are two girls in the CEO's office, laying on the floor depressed. Both for the same man but for separate reasons.
"Ying Yue, don't you thin-"
After a while Feng Mian started to speak, however, she was cut off by the door opening and someone coming in.
"CEO Mian, there are some documents you need to sign at- CEO Mian?"
