Chapter 2: 02: Transmigration

…80%…100%, Spirit Transmutation Completed. Adapting host spirit to new body. Commencing Fusion]. That was the first thing Bordrin, heard when he first came too. All he remembered was a warning then brain splitting pain, before finding himself here. But where exactly was here?

[Fusion Complete. Warning, severe damage and foreign energy located in host body. Optimal recovery path undergoing analysis. Found. Host should transmute foreign energy into life essence to facilitate recovery]

'Foreign energy? Transmute life essence? Don't remember any concepts like that in Legends Arena. Maybe it was in the Manual. System?'

[Affirmative, by fusing concepts found in the manual with the sensed concepts of this plane, system analyzed this to be the optimum recovery method]

'Plane? Did I somehow teleport somewhere else in Legend's Arena?'

[Negative. User not in a virtualized world. Adapted terminology from host memories plus the adopted body's memories automatically to best explain sensed phenomenon]

'Im no longer in the game? Adopted Body? Wait! Transmigration?'

[Affirmative. The situation seems most similar to the concept know as transmigration found in Host memories.]

'Hmm, for me to be in this state, most likely this body found himself in some trouble and died. Why am I in this body then if it died? Chip, commence transmutation and condense information to best explain my situation. Also, pull up the HUD'

[Commencing transmutation. Optimal energy path flow found. Commencing analysis of body's memories. HUD activated]

Finally, that familiar blue light flickered once more in Bordrin's eye. He was feeling antsy without its convenient display

[Bordrin (Stratos Deshar). Strength: 2.4(1.2), Agility: 2(1), Vitality: 2.5(1.2), Status: Severe exhaustion, mild burns, soft tissue damage. Body recovered but energy needs to be replenished]

'Woah, this body is so strong, is he some sort of superhuman? Wait, is he even human? After all, this is another world?

[Host body is considered good for his age, but nothing special. The genetic makeup of host body cannot be said to be human. Insufficient data for further analysis]

'Alright, anyway finish the scans and analysis and get back to me'. Having sorted all that out, Bordrin was finally able to properly examine his body and his surrounding. It seemed that even though his injuries were healed, he used all his energy to do so, so he had to struggle to his feet before beginning to look around. He seemed to be in quite the rocky place with various sized holes sprinkled in the surrounding. It reminded him of a hot spring he had been too back on earth, which had natural geysers as their main attraction point. There didn't seem to be much vegetation ahead of him, but looking back there seemed to be quite the lush forest, although all the immediate area surrounding him seemed as desolate as the rest.

He spotted a pool somewhat near him so he began to shuffle towards there, both to get a drink and a look at his new appearance. After shuffling for quite a while, he managed to reach the edge, where he came face to face with a young boy who seemed to just be approaching his teen years. With striking red hair and scarlet eyes, the first thought that came too mind was of some anime characters that used to be popular back then, although his facial features were closer to that of a Central European than anything. He stared at the face that would follow him for years and finally began to think back to earth.

After dedicating his life to <<Legends Arena>> for so long, he had lost all his friends and the support of his family. After finally making it big, he had decisively cut ties with all those old friends. After moving his parents in with him, he had enjoyed life for the next 7 years with his newfound wealth, before he's parents passed from age. At that point, he started to really think about starting a family, as he was already 32. But then they finally announced the release of his class advancement manual, and he decided to first focus on that before thinking further about it. But he now found himself here, not knowing if he would have a chance to ever go back and achieve that dream. He didn't have much tying him down after his parents death, but he still couldn't help but tear up at the thought.

Lost in his thoughts for a while, he forgot his original intention of coming here to get a drink, until he heard his chips prompt, finally drawing him out of a trance.

[Body Memories fully analyzed and cached. You are Stratos Deshar of the House Deshar, the ruling house of the County of Deshar, under the Kingdom of Rael. This body was targeted and died due to the machinations of Amoreta, your Aunt. By drawing on the formerly unknown energy known as Kraft, was able to transmute that energy to heal Host body at the expense of dropping back 1 step to become a non-practitioner.]

'Explain Kraft, Practitioner and Transmutation"

[Kraft: A sort of Mystical energy not unlike mana in Legends Arena. Practitioner: Someone who practices the 9 Steps, 3 Paths. Transmutation: Host retains the ability to transmute objects, more information needed to for further analysis]

'9 Steps, 3 Paths?'

[The Cultivation system of this world that refers to the Mortal Path, Earthly Path, Heavenly Path, and the nine steps one must take in each of those paths to ascend by achieving Nirvanic Rebirth. More information needed for further analysis]

'Seems that my biggest limitation right now is my lack of understanding towards this world, and this body was too young to know much. "Chip, fuse host memory with mine, run analysis protocol in the background, focus on information gathering and my transmutation ability. That seems to be my lifeline"'

[Affirmative. Data being loaded now, 10%…]

Bordrin once again felt that brain-piercing pain and had to struggle to maintain consciousness. He's body was quite weak at the moment, and he didn't want to risk passing out in an unfamiliar area, especially knowing there was someone out for his head. Eventually, the pain began to subside, and this time when he looked around he began to recognize where he was. He knew this was the clan's forbidden ground, located behind the forest that bordered the back of the east court, where he lived with his family. Even though he came from a relatively stronger branch, they had been relegated instead of staying in his Grandfather's manor were his cousins where, because of his mother's disobedience.

It wasn't all bad though, as this allowed him to sneak out quite often after all the people there didn't dare offend him. Even if he wasn't treated as he should be, he was still a direct descendant of Lord Deshar and carried the last name, and the others in the east courtyard where descended the adopted talents or vassal houses.

Bordrin decided to only refer to himself as Stratos from now on. After all, he was in his body, and with the fused memories, this was more natural. After all, with his identity as a transmigrator, he could get into some trouble he didn't wish for. After all, he didn't know what means the people here had to discover things like that.

With his thoughts wrapped up, he asked the chip to ensure the safety, before finally getting that drink he had been waiting for. With this, he was finally ready to start heading back. With his new memories, he knew he would be much safer once he returned home. But before he could start heading back, he began to hear shouts

" Over there, that's where he was hit. Hurry up, the Mistress wants confirmation of his death, especially now that the explosion has subsided"

[Warning, Hostiles related to this body's death detected. Recommend evasive maneuvers]
