Chapter 3: Aftermath ('Dog' POV)

Grrr, Stay away humans or I will attack! The little 'dog' not much bigger than a puppy thought o himself.

"Hahaha! Look at the little shit! Growling like a big boy." The human in front of him mocked, his face full of sinister intent, the people with him laughing along.

"Get this dog, we will have him for supper!" By his command the two lackeys attacked, diving for the 'dog' the two acting more like beasts than the beast they went for.

You asked for it! He thought.

"Get away from him!" However right when he had just bitten into one of the lackeys arms another figure came into view, a slender human child, a male by the looks of it.

With a swift kick he knocked the other lackey who had missed his grab and sent him into the alley wall.

Just like this a scuffle ensued a 'dog' and boy versus three stronger males.

This fight did not take long to end, they were all homeless and could not afford too many injuries so the delinquents retreated first, "We will get you for this!" though not without leaving a cliche threat behind first.

What a good human, I like you, you will become my master! With this the little 'dog' had decided to make this boy his master to repay him for saving his life.

As the saying goes, 'If you fed one dog then that dog would trust all one hundred humans, but if one dog bite a single human, they would kill all one hundred dogs.' this was a fundamental rule he had learned early on, thus making this boy special in this little 'dogs' eyes.

Master! he thought jumping around the injured boy and playing with him.

However in the next moment a voice cracked the sky and boomed in his ears, "Ave Torum." the boy looked to the sky and as did the 'dog' the both of them feeling the same surprise and confusion.

In the next breath however the boy had picked up the 'dog' and began running away.

Master what's going on?!?! Why is everything screaming? It's painful! He thought, the terror taking his body, his instincts telling him to take his master and keep running.

"Master Orem, or god to all of you, has tasked me with giving you all one last message, he can no longer protect this world, and so as his last gift, I will bestow you all the ability to become stronger!" It was then that he wished nothing more than to find a place to hide with his master that a voice soft like a beauty rang out and lights descended from the sky.

When the light was absorbed into his body the mud and grim on his fur began wilting away into nothingness as a calm feeling swept his body as though a gentle tide does the sand.

"Summoning: Undead Requiem!" The voice from before then took to the stage once more, and in the next second a dense horde of skeletons appeared out of thin air, the skeletal remains of both human and beast alike, though they just ignored them.

Mas---! He could barley look up before losing consciousness.

"Where am I?" He thought looking towards the only source of light in the darkness, his profession fire, though his was a bit different than the boy's since his was a blue flame rather than a white flame.

Pitter Patter, he walked and walked, his short legs doing him no favors, the sonorous echo of each step falling to a rhythm of constant movement within the silence.

For no rhyme or reason he did not stop once he reached the fire, his instincts did not make him stop and run from the fire, but rather urged him onward, and so he went.

"Chaos Wolf, you have been given a rare one indeed pup, use this power wisely as it is dangerous as it is powerful." The voice from the flame spoke and the 'do-, the wolf pup listened.

The words of the fire and the knowledge of his profession hit him like a truck but he recovered quickly, looking to the words now etched in flame in front of him.

Though he should not be able to read, these words simply seemed to make sense to him, like it was as natural as walking.

So then I am now a Chaos Wolf, with this I've gained the ability to produce fire from my body at will as well as to command lower class wolves, will master still like me even if I'm now like this, Would he make a pact with me? He thought through clenched teeth, he was not worried about the world or the future but if his Master would still care for him all the same.

Once he had finished reading everything and committing it to memory he was ejected from the dark space.

"Seems like nothing will ever be the same will it, Buddy." The first thing he heard was his master speaking to him and as such he felt he should respond.

"The world is dead, Master." Speaking grievously he looked at his master whose face was filled with surprise and shock.
