Chapter 20: Intruder (1)

Seated on his throne while drinking a milkshake, Leo watched the forest with interest. With his divine sense ever present, nothing could escape his eyes.

"Ah, this thing is indeed marvelous!" He exclaimed for himself, finishing the milkshake in one large gulp.

Aside from the incredible technology he found on Earth, the second most incredible thing for him was the food. Leo had never visited a place with so many different recipes that, even without Qi on the menu, could be so tasty! The fact that many foods were made in a strange way did not bother him, he had eaten worse.

Relaxing in his comfy throne, the red haired man watched with interest how the humans fought in synergy against those giant scaled frogs and couldn't help but to smile when some of them died. For him, the lives of these beings didn't matter, he had seen- and done- much worse.

Even so, he found the soldiers' varied strategies intriguing, not only here in the forest, but all around the world he was watching with the divine sense. It seemed that the humans on this planet made up for their lack of Qi with greater combat tactics and military strategy. Still, the art of ruling wasn't much different from elsewhere.

At another corner of the forest, a more interesting fight was taking place. Mainly because it did not involve any weak humans, but only two beasts! Out of nothing, a popcorn bag appeared in Leo's hands as he focused on the savage fight.

Wild animals were used to the harshness of survival, yet, now they weren't only fighting for survival: Because the Qi inside the forest was richer than outside, further favoring cultivation, adding the easier access to had greater resources, like heavenly plants and fruits, the animals were evolving faster than humans and becoming more like the Beasts Leo used to know.

However, that did not mean that they had an easier life, quite the opposite. The life of a wild animal was already hard depending on where it was on the food chain. Now that they were cultivating, actually transmuting into the Wild Beasts, the competition got even fiercer. Knowing that, Leo made use of it to increase the competition even more: By putting resources on strategic positions and making sure that the closer one was from the castle, the richer the Qi would be. Thus, the Beasts were stronger and the fights more savage.

*BANG!*

A metallic sound echoed throughout the forest as two strong Beasts collided. As some birds flew away and weaker beasts ran in fear, the two faced each other in a stalemate.

ROAAAR!

Hanging from a branch by its tail, a huge ape hit his own chest angrily. However, instead of the normal sound one would expect, it was as if two metal parts collided. The ape, after adapting to the Qi in the world, had mutated and now his fur was covered in a layer of metal!

A bit further from where he was, a small lake with crystalline water shone bright. The beast constantly shifted his eyes towards his enemy and the lake: Making it clear that he was protecting the ownership of the place. Even though the lake was quite small, no bigger than a pool, the intensity of heavenly Qi it was emitting was enormous!

Unfortunately for the ape, it seemed that his threats were useless. As the opposite beast bared its fangs in response, emitting a low growl.

Some meters away in the ground below, a black panther looked savagely at him. It had six legs with deadly claws, pitch black fur that blended into the shadows and a scorpion like tail. One small detail did not escape Leo's notice, in the center of the beast's forehead was a small scar, an imperfection in that beautiful black fur.

In a sense, that scar was more of a symbol than a wound for the beast. Even though she could heal it, still chose not to, to remember her shame when fighting that human! And that was one of the main reasons that Beast caught Leo's eyes. After he noticed that the black panther was already developing a small form of intelligence, he decided to keep a look over her. Perhaps she would be his next disciple? That is, if she was the first to speak human language, as announced by himself...

The beast did not wait for Leo to finish his stray thoughts as suddenly, the black panther broke the stand-off by dashing quickly over the strong ape. Seeing this, the Metal Ape also launched itself towards his enemy. Using the The Twilight Heavenly Tree branch as a boost, he flew as fast as the panther!

*SLASH!*

*TINNG!*

The six-legged panther used his sharp claws and attacked the monkey midair. Unfortunately, the results were similar to her last efforts as the claws left only small marks on the metallic fur.

The ape, trusting wholeheartedly its defenses, didn't even try to defend, and launched an all out attack with both fists towards the panther. But the beast was quick and easily evaded.

One had an impenetrable defense while the other was faster, soon they were on a standoff once again. Neither of them wanted to back off from the richer Qi in this place!

But the monkey didn't stop, now that he didn't have to worry about defense, he attacked without worries. After a few more exchanges the ape was elated, his opponent was becoming slower! He punched left and right, used the threes to give powerful kicks and as the panther took longer and longer to evade, he felt the taste of victory drawing near. At that moment, however, he was careless. He didn't notice that a few small black particles had formed like shadows just under his feet.

Just as he was about to jump for another attack, the black particles condensed, forming a bigger shadow like tentacles that wrapped around his right feet, trapping the ape for a split second.

But that mere second was everything the black panther was waiting for! The ape had fallen for its trap and now it was time to finish that fight. Immediately she unleashed its strongest attack: In a flash, its scorpion tail flew towards his target like a bullet!

The ape could only open his eyes, scared, feeling the death approaching him. Yet, he had no time to scream as the deadly tail easily pierced his metallic fur and his heart, splashing blood and some time of acid green liquid in the tall grass.

Everything went according to its simple plan: The panther had never used its tail in that fight, only its claws, inducing the ape to think it wasn't able to penetrate its defenses. Afterwards faked being tired to ambush it and successfully kill his opponent.

Now, using his tail, the six legged panther dropped the ape's corpse in front of her and opened its mouth in something that resembled a smile. Moments later, it happily savored the dead body, absorbing the Qi on its flesh and using it to strengthen herself.

If any outsider was here to witness that fight, they would be scared shitless. Not only was the beast savage and cunning to some extent, but it was also breaking through just after the fight! Moments later, the Qi revolved around the black panther as it reached a strength equivalent to that of a Fifth Stage Body Tempering cultivator!

"Nice fight, that ape was quite dumb indeed!" Leo said to himself and looked over the empty popcorn bag. Even though both beasts had almost the same strength in terms of cultivation, that did not mean they were the same - just like humans.

Now that the fight had ended, Leo spread his divine sense throughout the whole Earth. At his cultivation level, it was pretty easy to cover such a small world entirely with his divine sense! He did not forget the task his master gave him: Not only should he introduce cultivation to Earth but he had to keep an eye out and protect the place from external powers.

Suddenly, he got up from his throne and smiled devilishly.

"Oh, so someone really showed up!" Leo proceeded to crack his knuckles and stretch his arms. "Why did it take so long? I was really in need of a helping hand."

His two disciples who were next to him, a Red-maned Lion and a silver furrowed Wolf, shivered when they saw his smile.

Leo immediately disappeared into thin air, leaving the two disciples to wonder when they would be so strong and who had bothered their master. That smile… someone was going to suffer.
