Chapter 1: Pathetic In The Eyes Of Others
She was labled as the most ugliest girl in the campus. She has messy hair that looked unkept for a decade, squinty eyes that was paired with big saggy eyebags, her nose was flat, and her lips looked like a cracked ice which is also paired with her golden teeths.
Her tanned skin looked so dry and dehydrated which is making people stay away from her. She has zero sense of fashion and she smells like an old geezer. Some say that she looks like a disaster. The literal meaning of disaster.
"Look it's her again. Don't you think she doesn't have any shame walking in this campus looking like that? I mean she's worse than the beggar I always see in the streets."
"Right. Everytime I see her I always had this question popping out from my mind. Just how did she get admitted from our school. I mean, this is not just an ordinary school. This is Key Riff Academy! The leading and most prestigious school in our country. How did a nobody like her got in?"
Everywhere she goes gossip follows. They look at her with their sharp gazes spelling disgust in every move and everything she do. They criticise her everytime like she's the black sheep of the whole country.
No one likes her and no one wants to befriend her. She's like a living disgrace for them and no one looked at her with pity. They all felt like she deserves how she's being treated.
"Ah!"
Some boys who's playing and running around bumped into her but they didn't stop. Instead, they kept running like nothing happened. No one dared to help her and no one dared to stand up for her.
She picked up her books one by one while kneeling to the ground. She looked so pathetic in the eyes of others.
*Riiiiiing
The school bell rang loudly as it reached every corner of the school. All the students immediately ran to their own respective classrooms.
She also stood up once she had gathered all her books and ran to their classroom.
"Miss Antonio?"
"Here."
"Mr. Claro?"
"Present!"
"Miss Sanch---"
"She's not in here Ma'am! Maybe she got abducted by the aliens because they thought she's one of them so they took her to their own planet already!"
Someone shouted and everyone started laughing.
Their teacher rolled her eyes and suddenly landed on the door which is suddenly opened.
"Miss Sanchez how many times do I have to tell you to be puctual?"
"I'm sorry Ma'am someone bump into me while I was walking in the corridor so I had to pick up my scattered books."
She said while holding on to her seven thick books. Their teacher sighed and casually waved her hand.
"Just be more responsible. Go to your seat."
She resumed calling out to the names of the students and soon started her lecture.
Meanwhile no one was already wondering around the campus since the class had started. It was a peaceful place when someone broke the silence.
"Yeeeeho!!! We're finally here! I can finally do whatever I want!"
"..."
Two boys was walking down the hallway. The one was talking nonstop about his future plan on the school while the other one was quietly walking behind him. He was looking straight like there's nothing that piques his interest in his surrounding.
"Hey Bro. Why don't you also say something? Huh?"
"..."
"Sigh. You know what? Sometimes I think I really look like an idiot talking to the air when you do this. Tsk tsk."
"..."
"Really. Maybe if I haven't been with you for the past 17 years of my life or maybe if I haven't heard you shout that day I would have thought that you're a mute bro."
"Shut up." He said without any expression and walked pass through him.
"Oh? Oh? See? Why do you always say that when I talk to you? Bro what am I to you?" He acted like he's crying while hiding his smile inside.
They continued walking when the silent boy abruptly stopped walking and the noisy one bump into him causing his nose to flatten a bit.
"I told you I nee-- ouch! Bro! Why did you stop for? Ow my nose!" He complained with a teary eyes.
"..."
He bend down and picked up a card, a library card. There's no picture plastered in it but the name made his eyes shiver for a sheer moment before it came back to its normal tranquility.
Lianna Sanchez.
Sounds familiar but he doesn't remember where he heard it though.
"Hey bro what are you looking at?"
Asked his Brother and tried to peek but before his eyes could land on it the silent guy suddenly put it in his pocket and continued walking again.
Andrew made a poker face and immediately followed him.
