Chapter 1: Killed by a Pebble

"Bang!", a brilliant, golden radiance lit up as a huge spatial crack ripped open the starry sky. A little gem the size of a thumb nail was thrown out of the crack. Like a meteor it crashed into the ground creating a crater three meters in diameter. A tiny azure light, lit up in the gems core, pulsing with a slow tempo. As the light pulsed the gem slowly floated up and started rotating. It spun and started to absorb spiritual force from the sorrunding air. Slowly and sluggishly at first, but it's rotation speed increased, gradually becoming faster and faster. The faster it spun the more spiritual force it absorbed, the spiritual force in the area was soon depleted, however as the absorption increased and spiritual force was being drawn from miles away creating an energy storm. The gem's light became brighter and it floated higher as it absorbed more spiritual force, almost reaching the tree tops, as if trying to reenter the spatial crack. It continued to greedily draw energy from the air, the spiritual force storm started to stretch for hundreds of miles, the spiritual force became so thick it condensed into visible clouds. The gem grew brighter and brighter, enough to outshine the stars and flew so high it almost reached the crack. Just as it was about to slip into the spatial crack, a bolt of black lightning, darker than the night sky, forked out of the crack and struck the gem with a deafening "boom!". The gem was smashed back into the earth and lost its luster and the pulsing light became weak, almost estinguished. A majestic voice echoed from the spatial crack, "DO NOT DEFY ME!!",

" Should I survive, I will release you from the seal, be good and wait patiently for my return!".

Then the golden radiance vanished and the crack closed, but, just before space healed a sigh was barely heard, "Farewell my child, You are our only hope."

Then everything was silent, the gem's light faded and it looked no different than an ordinary pebble. The spiritual force storm dissipated but it did not leave, the clouds slowly fell onto the forest enriching the earth, strengthening the organisms and nourishing the trees.

Dawn came, the sun rose on an inconspicuous crater, a tiny light shone momentarily from a pebble, unwilling to be left alone. Then the sun set, seasons changed, trees fell and mountains rose, eons passed.

In a forest with trees, whose crowns pierced the clouds, and with rivers running deep, a young boy crashed through the underbrush, clothes torn to tatters by thorns and his handsome face scratched by branched and twigs, charged into a clearing running for his life. Panting, he notched an arrow and bent his bow as he turned around to face the abomination that hunted him for miles. His grey eyes narrowed as he looked at the hulking monster that trudged out of the tree cover. Standing at two meters tall with shoulders as broad as two men, it's pig head rested on a short neck, with a pair of short tusks protruding from it's lower jaw. It drew a wooden club from the animal hide loin that it wore around its waist and grunted, "Oi, quit ya runnin' already and lemme hit ya. Am already hungry as is and you harly have any meat on ya."

It raised the wooden club and charged at the boy swinging at his waist, but the boy didn't give the Ork the chance as he let one arrow fly after another. The arrows hit the or square on the chest but bounced off the ork's grimy, leather like skin, failing to leave even a scratch.

Dropping his bow and he pulled out the short sword from his waist and charged at the hulking monster. He dodged to the side, attempting to get behind the ork but it surprised him with a quick reverse swing of the club and caught him square in the chest, tossing him two meters away. The ork's beady yellow eyes lit up as it flopped over to the downed boy. He got to his knees pushing his purple hair away from his face and coughed out a mouthful of blood and the charged at the ork, he ducked and slashed at its ankle and cut the tendon, the ork squealed in pain as it dropped to one knee. The right leg could no longer support its massive weight, as it fell it swung the wooden club at the boy and clobbered him into the ground. The boy rolled out of the ork's reach then got to his feet. Holding his chest he turned around to see the ork using the club as a crutch and was dragging it's limp leg, with hate smeared all over it's ugly features it lounged at the youth, the sidestepped the open arms of the monster and swung his sword at the ork's arm, slicing into the tendon in the ork's arm pit he disabled it's left arm. Seeing a chance he quickly spun around and stabbed the sword into the ork's throat, there by ending it's life, howere, with the last of it strength the ork used it remain good arm to punch the boy square in the chest causing a cracking sound to reverberate in the silent forest.

The boy folded like an empty sack and flew across the clearing, his chest had caved it, with labored breathing he fumbled with his bag and took out a blood colored pill the size of his pinky finger nail and swallowed it. Within moments the bruises on his chest cleared up, the bones fixed themselves and his breathing eased. Huffing loudly he sat up and spat out a glob of clotted blood he mummered, "Damn Amar, why the fuck did you steal that ork's 'Crimson Blood Fruit'. Now I'm down to the last grade two Restorative pill."

He got up and went over to the ork's corpse and pulled out his sword, then he cut off the left ear and broke off the pair of tusks and put them in his bag, " A level 9 ork, should get me a quite a few silver coins."

Then a faint humming interrupted his thoughts, when he turned around to check the source, he saw blood covered pebble floating about a meter off the ground, startled he slowly backed away but before he could get far the stone shot at him at high speed, before he could react he felt an intense pain between his brows, his last thought before he passed out was, "Great, I survive an Ork to be killed by a tiny pebble."

The outer layer peeled off revealing a dazzaling gem that shone brilliantly under the sun. As the gem merged with his forehead, it sank into the skin, leaving only a tiny reflective surface, adding to and enhancing his devilish charms.
