Chapter 5: Shy Under His Gaze

When my brother slowly walked away, I felt so shy to be talking to a man that I couldn't look up at all. I wished I could disappear from the man's sight but when he started speaking to me, I looked up. I haven't seen too many men in the world, but I could tell this man was definitely much better looking than the rest. He had a defined jaw line with soft facial features. In that instant when I saw his face, he was looking at me as though he had known me forever. I felt even more shy under his intense gaze and right when I was thinking of saying something back to him, my niqab loosened up and fell off. I immediately reached down to grab the veil but right when I reached down, I felt his finger tips as he had also attempted to pick up my veil. Feeling another wave of embarrassment at his daring touch, I quickly pulled my veil away and ran back to my brother.
