Chapter 16: Issue 16: X Factor IX

Everyone celebrated, while Peter thought of the soon to be born Franklin Richards. Being Beyond Omega Classification power level given by the celestials themselves, Peter thought of the pains the Richards family would experience and of what he could do to help them.

He wondered if he could give Franklin a programmed Symbiote as Strange did for him and have that Symbiote limit the infant's powers until he could control them.

He really wanted to learn magic, but on top of daily martial arts katas, working out with MJ, crime-fighting, going to school, and preparing for his future, Peter still had no time on his hands to focus on training in the art of magic as well.

After the celebration, Peter went home that night in high spirits. When he entered his house, he saw May and Ben watching the news, walking up to them he spotted J.J.J speaking on the news.

"A recent breakout occurred at the Ryker's Island Prison where a group of superpowered inmates has escaped, please be on the lookout for their appearance of these two criminals. Maxwell Dillon who has the ability to manipulate electricity, his moniker is named Electro, and the second is Aleksei Sytsevich who has superhuman strength and endurance."

A snapshot of their mug shots appeared on the screen. Peter looked them over and frowned as he thought, "Of course, I have to deal with the Genetically altered Rino-Man, and he looks even stronger than any other version he's seen him in."

Electro looked like a street punk with a bunch of piercings on his face and was sticking his tongue out while holding up his middle finger.

Peter's eyes went eyed as Jameson showed the viewers a few clips of them using their powers. He saw Rhino take a few punches from the Hulk and even managed to knock him back a couple of times.

Electro was completely made of lightning. He looked like a glowing blue version of the Human Torch and was zapping everything in sight.

Jameson continued his report as he said, "If you see these prisoners then do not engage, do not talk, or even look at them. I implore you to instead run away from them and call the police. This is John Jonah Jameson reporting to live from channel 4, stay safe and goodnight, New York.

Peter's fist gripped until his knuckles creaked as he thought, "Okay now I know my world's villains are a lot stronger than the just the Ultimate Universe's bad guys. The one I was born into just shares a lot of similarities with it."

Hearing the popping noise from behind them, Ben and May turned around as said, "Peter your home!"

Peter relaxed his hands before he smiled and pulled out a stack of cash with $125,000 rolled together.

Peter threw it before Ben caught it and frowned, "Peter this is your. . ."

Peter interrupted and said, "This is our money, and I still have 150,000 left in my account. Every month I'll receive a check for royalties. It'll go up for a while then drop before stabilizing. So, I will be getting a lot more. I know we've been struggling with the bills, and this should hold us over for a long time to come."

Ben and May's eyes started watering when Peter hugged them and said, "You're my family and even if I'm younger than you I'm going to take care of us. Now, remember, the money I give you comes with a lot of responsibility. Can you handle it, Uncle Ben?"

Ben smiled as he said, "With great power comes great. . ."

"Comes great responsibility!" The trio of Parkers spoke in unison before laughing.

Peter then turned towards around and said, "I'm going to be in my lab for the night, got something I'm working on. I already had Dinner with MJ and some friends so don't wait up for me."

"Okay, don't stay up too late! It's bad for your health," Aunt May recommended.

"I got it, goodnight you two!" Peter said before heading to the cellar.

When he was alone, Peter suited and took off towards the city while he began asking Webster, "What changes happened when you absorbed the unstable molecules?"

A vast amount of information suddenly entered Peter's mind, "I see with this I can upgrade you again. If I managed to complete my Nanobots, I can rid you of your weakness to sonic attacks.

As he swung from building to building, Peter then asked Webster to scan his body. When the new information flooded Peter's head, he took notice of the changes in his body and began experimenting.

Peter lifted his hand out, and while focusing his Chi into a single point until it burst into flame, Peter grinned as he thought, "Incredible, Webster! You really do act as a conduit for the Blank Gene inside me, but it seems the gene I took from Johnny is locked in my genetic coding and untransferable. MJ should still be able to gain more powers through the suit, but my gene gives this power to me in its own mutated form. Even without the Symbiote, I can still use Johnny's flame power."

Although, while he retained the Pyrokinesis without the suit, Peter was incapable of using the full Flame On Form to its greatest capabilities. Unless the Symbiote was enhancing the copied gene, he could only use the watered down version.

Pulling Webster back to his body, Peter then headed into a manhole before traversing the sewers till he ended up at an old and abandoned subway tunnel.

Stealing a bit from the movies, Peter retrofitted a sixty-year-old train-cart into his personal lab that he built by dumpster diving. He may not have approved how they handled the Amazing Spider-Man Films, but he approved of the train-lab idea.

Peter flipped a switch and turned on the power connected to his electric generator connected to the solar panel's powerline. He used it for equipment that needed to stay idle such as a refrigerator, ventilation, and heating.

Once he entered the cart, Peter walked over to his freezer and pulled out Tombstone's blood sample. First, he ran it under a microscope and ran a few comparison tests on his computer.

Once he separated and made sure there weren't any dangerous components, Peter had the Symbiote scan the blood sample and extract the strengthening formula.

As the Symbiote deposited the serum into Peter's blank gene, he felt his bones become denser, his organs became more robust, and his skin growing slightly tougher. It was nowhere near Tombstone's level, but now Peter had a slight additional amount of toughness to his body.

"This requires more study." Peter thought as he turned off all his equipment and started heading back to the surface.

After going back home, Peter waited for his guardians to go to bed before he exited outside and jumped onto a nearby lamppost.

Pulling out his phone, Peter quickly sent a text to MJ that read, "Did you see the news?"

However, the moment he pushed send, MJ's phone rang behind him while she placed her arms around his shoulders and said, "Way ahead of you, Tiger!"

Peter smiled and gave MJ a kiss on the cheek before saying, "Let's go takedown an overgrown Rhino, and that sparky Light Bulb Guy."

The two webbed off, they searched for the streets of New York for hours. When they met up at their rendezvous point, the Chrysler Building, they hung their feet of the eagle ornament and held a map over their lap.

After going over the land they've covered, Peter rubbed his head in frustration as he said, "This method is getting us nowhere fast. We really don't have the resources to investigate their personal histories. All I could manage to figure out how the cops arrested him. Electro and the Rhino were brought down by a private Investigator's information."

Peter slapped himself on the forehead before he pulled out his cellphone and said, "I can't believe I didn't think of this before!"

Peter and MJ continued to look through dozens of different news articles until they came across one with the title 'Alias Investigations' written in bold print.

"Jessica Jones, the other J.J in my life," Peter thought while looking off towards Harlem.

"Guess we need the help of a P.I to solve this one. Plus, we can think of it as a learning experience," MJ stated as she peered over Peter's shoulder.

Peter was about web-sling away when the burner-phone that he gave Matt Murdock started ringing. Answering, Peter started off the conversation with a joke, "Well, if it isn't my favorite blind-lawyer. I have a few parking tickets I was wondering if you could take a look at. You would not believe the cost of parking on walls for too long."

"Very funny, Spider-Man! Um, you know those Ninjas that you warned me of? Well, you told me to call if they ever showed up, and they showed up. Sorry gotta…Duck!" The sounds of furniture breaking could be heard in the background of Matt's end of the call.

Peter palmed his face, "MJ you go meet up with the P.I and get the information we need to find the guys who escaped, while I'll go save Matt."

MJ looked a little worried about Peter because of the recent event with the Negative-Zone, but after realizing that it was the right move to make, they split up heading towards opposite directions.

Peter made his way across the city rather fast, after reaching Hell's Kitchen within a few minutes. He dropped off a building and landed on Matt's house before he crawled inside from the patio window.

Foggy, Electra, and Matt were standing lunging around on his torn-up couch while looking rather worn out. Peter then crawled along the surface of the ceiling before he snuck up on them and said, "Okay can someone tell me what's going on here, or have I interrupted something?"

Peter landed on the ground, and held his hands out, and said with a cocky tone, "Because if I did, I can always come back later."

"Whoa! Spider-Man!" Foggy shouted at the top of his lungs while Matt looked relieved, and Electra put up her guard.

"Matt, who is he?!" Electra questioned as she pulled out her weapons.

Matt smirked as held his hand in front of Electra and said, "Foggy, Electra, this is my friend Spider-Man."

"You weren't lying that time at the bar, you really know a superhero," Foggy said with wide eyes.

Peter looked to Foggy and then back to Matt. Once Matt shook his head left and right, Peter realized that Foggy didn't know about his extracurricular activities.

"Hello, Mr. Nelson. I'm a big fan of both yours and Matt's work. Not many honest lawyers left in New York. So, props for that. If I ever get into any legal trouble, I'll be sure to give you guys a call," Peter stated while holding his hand out.

Foggy shook Peter's hand with a star-struck expression before he said, "I'm shaking Spider-Man's hand."

Retracting his hand, Peter then looked over to Matt and asked, "So what's the problem?"

Electra looked to Foggy with a deadly expression, in response, the slightly overweight Foggy shiver in fear before he raised his hands up in defeat and declared, "Alright, I'm leaving."

Foggy went into the other room and closed the door, after waiting for a bit Electra shouted, "Get your ear away from the door!"

Foggy showed a surprised expression as he backed away from the door and sat on the corner of Matt's bed.

"How does she do that?" The lawyer questioned as he sighed.

Peter looked to Electra and waited for her to explain. However, she wasn't making much of an effort, Peter could tell that she really didn't want to rely on anyone other than Matt.

"Well? I'm waiting...look if you're not going to talk, I'm leaving. I have other issues besides saving you guys from, well, whatever this is!" Peter declared as he pointed to the sword cuts and ninja stars everywhere.

Instead of giving him a straight answer, Electra lunged at him with her Sais aiming for his throat.

Peter didn't even feel his Spider-Sense tingle, as he grabbed her arm and stopped Electra in her tracks.

She smirked as if he had somehow fallen into a trap, throwing her legs around his arms she tried to take Peter down with an arm-bar throw, but she found that she couldn't move him at all.

While she was suspended in the air and being held up by Spider-Man's arm strength alone, Peter waved it with a single whipping motion, forcing Electra to flip back through the air.

Once she landed, Electra attempted to charge Peter again when she suddenly found out that she couldn't move from her current position.

Quickly looking down, Electra discovered that her feet were webbed to the apartment floor.

Peter withdrew his Symbiote's webbing and pointed his finger towards her head before he pushed her back onto the couch. Peter then lowered the tone of his voice, webbing her feet back up as he said, "Okay, now that you've played your little game, how about you explain what's going on? Why not start with who the hell you are?"

"Fine!" Electra grumbled as she used her Sais to cut Peter's webbing.

Peter was surprised to find out how different Electra's life was compared to the material he read about or watched in his previous life. The first major difference he noticed from her tales was that she always had a desire to learn martial arts way before she made her first kill, which was almost a group of rapists and murderers bragging about their latest victims.

When they cornered her and she was about to retaliate, she was stopped before she could snap the neck of the first guy that tried to touch her.

Fury 'lucked' into the situation and stopped Electra before she started snapping necks. To keep her hands clean, Fury shot them himself.

After introducing himself, Fury then went on to offer Electra a job as his personal Shield Agent. Since she failed the mission given to her by Stick, the only other option was to return and be beaten to an inch of her life.

Needless to say, she agreed. Thanks to her new job, Electra's father had S.H.I.E.L.D protecting him from the shadows, and as a result, he wasn't killed by Bullseye. Her father wasn't killed early on in her life either, so she wasn't adopted by Stick and raised as an assassin.

Although, somehow, regardless of whether or not her father had died, Stick still found out about her destiny and still managed to worm his way into her life as her teacher, this time, being hired by her father to teach her martial arts instead of him taking in an orphan.

Peter looked a little excited as he thought, "This really is a new universe! I can't wait to discover more!"

"My most recent job involved infiltrating a group known as the Hand. I tracked them to this city and decided to see an old friend," Electra said before she looked to Matt as if asking for permission to speak about something.

Matt nodded that it was okay and then back Peter before saying, "Matt, or Daredevil and I, were attacked by the Hand's members, we fought them off, but for some reason, they don't die."

Peter then said, "So what, you're fighting Zombies-Ninjas?!"

"Didn't you warn me about Ninjas?" Matt said with a look of disbelief.

"Yeah, because...my Spidey-sense led me to say it...look sometimes I get flashes of future events. All I saw was you being attacked by Ninjas." Peter explained, and to fool the human lie detector, Peter had his Symbiote control his heartbeat.,

"Neat power," Matt said with a slightly impressed expression.

Peter sighed as he grabbed his forehead, "Okay! If they can't die, how about sealing them up, you know make a prison?"

Matt then sat up and took his glasses off, "That's why I called you Spiderman, these guys aren't alive!"

Peter frowned, "What do you mean not alive?"

"My cover was blown thanks to me saving a couple of kids that I was supposed to kill. So instead of following orders any longer, I wasted three years of undercover work and killed a head member of the Hand named Bakuto. The big twist was that he was the one who attacked us."

Peter groaned, "I really don't need this tonight! All right, what did Shield say?"

Electra looked down and said, "I can't get ahold of them anymore. I quit after killing Bakuto." Electra looked back at Matt before showing a saddened expression as she said, "I couldn't let him down again."

Peter sighed and said, "Well you better call them up! Even if you did quit the agency, they won't leave their operatives out to die. You should be able to get some good intel, right?"

Back with MJ, she appeared over the window of Alias Investigations and knocked on against the glass surface until a man appeared wearing a long tan trench coat, a white button-up shirt, and tan business pants appeared.

He had short shaggy blond hair and looked to be around 20 years of age. The young man looked out the 7th floor and saw Spider-Woman waving at him. Quickly unlocking it, he opened the window and stepped back as MJ hopped inside.

"Can I...can I help you? Spider-Woman right?" The blond asked full of nerves.

"You're the P.I that tracked down Electro right?" MJ asked as she sat at the edge of his desk.

"I'm Phillip Campbell, and yes, I was the one who found Electro. But I wasn't the one who brought him in," Philip declared while scratching his cheek in embarrassment.

MJ then said, "I need your help to track down Electro again, and see if you can the Rhino as well."

Phill pulled out a bottle of whiskey and took a shot straight out of the bottle before he replied by stating, "I'm not cheap."

MJ pulled out her wallet and threw out two thousand dollars as she said, "Find them and I'll give you another thousand."

Phil took the role of cash and placed it in his coat. He then picked up a gun from his desk and placed into the holster wrapped around his shoulders.

"Tomorrow, come back and I'll have their locations," Phill declared as he made his way to the door and opened for MJ.

"What a gentleman, but I'll take the expressway out," MJ said as she climbed halfway outside the office window and launched a web-line over to a nearby building. Next, she turned back and gave Phill a thumbs-up before jumping out while saying, "See you tomorrow, Phill."

As she swung away, he turned around, the P.I started to get to work, pulling out file after file as he investigated the Rhino's history. "Well, I guess superhero's need help too sometimes."

Phill then pulled out a glass and poured himself a cup of whiskey. After taking a sip, he then picked up the phone on his desk and called up a contact he had at the police. "Yeah, Stacy it's me. I need some information."

Back at Matt's place, Peter was looking at Electra with a very frustrated expression.

"So, all they gave us was Bakuto's latest location?" Peter questioned.

"That's better than nothing," Matt said, trying to point out the silver lining.

Peter grabbed his head and felt like shouting, "Well that's better than nothing! I could think of a hundred things better than that!" but held it back.

Suddenly, Peter's phone began to ring MJ's ringtone. The old 60's Spiderman theme music blared out before a few seconds before Peter answered and said, "I hope you're having better luck than me."

"The P.I is on the case, we have to check in with him tomorrow. How about you?"

"Feel like kicking a bunch of immortal ninjas around!" Peter said in a joking tone.

"Really! Immortal Ninjas?" MJ asked before saying, "Wow, our life is never going to be normal again, is it? Don't you miss the days when all we had to do was web up common crooks."
