Chapter 9: A familiar back
Eva woke up at 6 a.m. sharp. She freshened up and got ready quickly. She started making sandwiches for herself. Once she was done with it, she started cleaning up the house as she thought that it might get dirty by the time they would return.
By the time she was done with everything, it was already 8:15. She came out with her luggage which seemed to be too heavy for her petite figure. But she still dragged and managed to bring it to her doorstep. Just then, she heard a honk of a cab. It was none other than Kristie. She kept the luggage in the back of the car and got in. They both hugged each other so tightly as if they had met after a long time. Kristie soon began speaking about all the adventures that they would do on the trip.
Eva listened to her and felt herself getting more excited than before. Soon, they reached the airport.
It was 9:30 at that moment. They bought some snacks and waited for their departure announcement. Once their announcement began, they hurriedly moved towards the entry of the plane. After they were seated, Eva saw a familiar person going in the direction of the business class compartment. She tried to get a glance at his face but was unable to do so. She soon forgot about it. Eva and Kristie talked about random things for a while and then began to doze off.
By the time they woke up, they were about to reach Paris. After they landed, they were too excited. They quickly boarded a taxi and headed for the hotel. It was already 12 p.m. in Paris by the time they reached their hotel. They went to their respective rooms. Eva arranged her clothes in the wardrobe of her room as she wasn't feeling sleepy. She used her phone for a while and then finally went to sleep.
In the morning, she was awoken by the sound of a knock. She found Kristie standing there.
" Get ready quickly! We are going to the Louvre: Art in the heart of the city." Kristie said.
" Yes, ma'am."
Eva hurriedly got ready wearing an olive Ariana embroidered shirt and a pair of Krita shorts. She tied her long black hair in a high ponytail. She grabbed her phone and went out with Kristie. They booked a cab and went to the museum. They also ordered takeout on the way.
The moment they reached there, they were both shocked at its beauty. They got a travel guide to guide them in the museum.
As soon as they entered the museum, the guide began speaking about the museum.
"Situated in the heart of the city, Louvre is the most visited and most popular art museum and gallery in the entire world. Spread over sprawling 21,000 hectares, this museum is located in a royal fort, also called the Louvre. The relics of the same are still visible in the basement area.
As one of the most crowded tourist places in Paris, this lavish and exotic museum is divided into several sections – Egyptian antiquities, oriental antiquities, Islamic art, Greek and Roman art, paintings, objects of art, sculptures of the medieval period, and graphic art to name a few."
They saw Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa, Winged Victory of Samothrace, Michelangelo's Dying Slave, Lamassus, and Great Sphinx of Tanis and many more.
By the time we left the museum, it was already 6 p.m. They went to the nearest restaurant to grab a bite as they both were very hungry. After eating, they roamed in the streets for a while and then went back to the hotel.
They ate their dinner in the hotel and went to the park for a walk.
"Ahh! Today's day was so great. I just loved it." Kristie said.
"Me too. I feel this happy and contented after a long time. Thank you girl for bringing me along!" Eva replies.
" And thank you for coming along."
They talked for some time and they were going back to their rooms when Eva saw that familiar back that she saw at the airport again in their hotel's lobby but it was just a glimpse before he turned around the corner. Before Eva could follow him, Kristie had begun to lead her towards her room saying that she was tired. She unwillingly followed her. After lying down on her bed, Eva continuously thought about that person trying to recognise who he was but she wasn't able to. She soon dozed off.
