Walking through the deserted streets as the torrential rain never ceases to slap me when I'm down, despite all the emotions that threateningly swarm around me to attack, I only have one thought- I should have just stayed home.
I clench my useless purple sweater closer as I keep on walking. A stupid looking boxy car pulls up beside me and I look away from the car, as I don't want the car door to open. It doesn't, but the driver's window slowly creeps down, and I don't even have to look to know who it is.
"Get in."
His uselessly deep baritone voice gives him away like it always does.
Despite my efforts not to look, my head unconsciously turns to the owner of the voice in the car.
I take in his perfectly slicked back hair and angular face that does not even turn to me but keeps looking forward, away from me.
Ignoring the beckoning heat I feel coming from his car, I keep on walking ahead, trudging on in soggy shoes and the little self will I have left.
I keep on walking in the rain for what feels like five minutes, half glad I did not give in, yet half annoyed his car hadn't moved yet.
Lost in my thoughts, I jerk a little when a hand grabs my wet shoulder firmly from behind. He holds me in place to stop, then quickly lets go.
I glare at his uselessly tall 6'3 frame that stands looming above me in a dark suit that was already getting very wet.
"You'll get sick."
He finally makes direct eye contact with me after a long night of ignoring my existence.
I sigh and turn away from him, but walk back to his car.
He follows me quietly from behind, unlocking his car as I enter his front seat and instantly regret it. Unfortunately, he locks the car before I can change my mind and starts to drive off.
Wishing I had sat in the back seat to further piss him off, a part of me is delighted to see his perfect hair now disheveled and wet.
Thankfully, I am not the only mess here.
