Chapter 32: The Memories
Claridad was dumbfounded by the things that had happened. A few hours later after Seikatsu left her, a lot of people came over to help and totally put out the fire. They covered her mother's body with a clothe and helped her stand up.
When they reached her house, they served her water and food, and asked her "Anong nangyari Claridad?" [What happened Claridad?]
The question hits her head remembering all that had happened. A drop of liquid fell on her eye. What should I say? Should I tell them that a vampire killed them, and that was my cousin?
She was just silent. Seeing the sadness on her face, the man said with sympathy "Huwag mo nalang sagutin kung ayaw mong pag-usapan. Magpahinga ka na pagkatapos mong kumain." [Just don't answer if you don't want to talk about it. You should rest after you eat.]
They smiled at her. A woman said "Ako na bahala sa magulang mo.." [I'll take care of your parents..]
Claridad suddenly interupted with a lowly voice "Puede po ba na sunugin nalang din po yung katawan ni Mama? Gusto ko kasi silang pagsamahin ni Papa sa iisang lalagyan." [Can we also burn my mother's body? I wanted to put her and Papa's ash in one container.]
"Okay if you say so." The woman nodded.
Clari took a bath before going to bed. When the lights were off, she can now show off all the sadness that she was hiding. She keeps on crying reminiscing all the memories that their family shared into this house.
All the laughter, the arguments she had with her dad, all of her mother's requests. It feels like her heart was squeezed by those mind reflections.
Downstairs, he could hear her cry, like it was also stabbing his heart. Seikatsu can't help clenching his own arm with his nails.
