Chapter 2: New life
The city of Zhou was bustling with noise, from this one could say that the city was prospering. As the city was near trade route lots of merchants would come to sell their goods whether it was crops bought from farmer, weapons from craftsmen or any goods all could be found here.
On top of city Lords manors wall, a small boy of age around 5 was watching all the things happening in the city with bright eyes. But since he was too small he was being carried by his personal guard, so he could have a proper look. After watching for some time the boy yawned and turned towards his personal guard bai feng.
"senior bai you can put me down, I would like to return to my courtyard"
"yes third young master " said bai feng with smile as he put little zai mushen down.
Although zai mushen was city Lords son he didn't put on airs and was quite polite with everyone so he was loved by all in the city Lords manor. Zai mushen walked past the manor garden when he saw the one who was reading book while taking some sips of tea. The young one was about 12 years old but looked quite exceptional with his red hair blowing with soft blow of wind and ruby like red eyes focused on the book. He was zai mushen's second elder brother zai wentian, he was quite into literature and arts.
Even though he loved reading and painting, he was also talented in martial arts and spiritual magic.
So when zai mushen saw his second brother he went and sat near him and looked with curiosity as his brother read books of various topics.
Seeing that zai mushen was looking at him curious gaze zai wentian put the book down and asked" little shen do you want to know what this book is about" with smile on his face while lovingly patting zai mushen's small head.
As he loved reading books he was always willing to share and talk about what the books were about. Little zai mushen gave a light nod as he was willing to learn every new thing as much as he could. In his previous life books could not be found as the knowledge then were taught orally. so he too like his second elder brother was into books of different subjects.
Seeing that zai mushen was intrested zai wentian started to describe the contents of books . The book was about different types of demon beast , it described their character, habitat and speciality. After hearing about its contents zai mushen raised his head and asked" second elder brother this book is quite intresting if you don't mind can I borrow it from you?"
"sure but not now I still have a lot to learn from it as I will be heading for trial at dark forest" said zai wentian as his gaze became resolute. The trial at dark forest was organized by zai clan to train its young generation, in which they will have to stay in the forest for full 3 years. To participate the candidate must be from zai clan whose age is about 12 and must be at nascent spirit stage. After knowing that the book was needed to second elder brother.
"if that's the case I will have it after you have read it since its useful to you for the upcoming trial" told zai mushen as he stood up and went to his courtyard and started cultivating in his cultivating chamber.
The zai clan belonged to branch of imperial dynasty which mostly focused in military of detsun empire. In other words they are warrior branch of imperial dynasty. So every members of zai clan were born warriors But out of three branch of imperial dynasty zai clan had the lowest number of members, as they would readily sacrifice themselves in the name of detsun empire. Even so they use trial of dark forest for training their youngster. Only those who could take part and pass the trial of dark forest were considered genius in zai family. But in this trial casualty were high as much as only 1 out of 14 would survive as the dark forest was filled with various demon beasts. For those who survive will be enrolled at military academy of detsun empire and receive high rank but for those who had not gone to trial but reached nascent spirit realm after 12 they can only get low rank military post.
Currently the head of zai clan was zai mushen's grandfather zai houtian,zai mushen's father was the second son.
Since zai taixuan passed the trial and got through military academy of detsun empire ,he was posted to city of Zhou as city lord for its safety with about one hundred thousand soldiers. Zai taixuan had only married wei qing when he was posted as city lord of city of Zhou. After moving in zai wuhen , zai mushen's first elder brother was born. Currently he was facing the trial in dark forest.
