Chapter 4: Master Librarain
Purple and black light engulfed Li Zhang's body, a cold feeling spread all throughout his body. He was able to lift his head, looking at his body he was starting to see himself heal.
The more he healed the more he was able to move. Only after a couple of seconds, Li Zhang's body was completely healed.
Letting out a small breath Li Zhang looked around him. All of the demons and even the woman he just killed was gone. All of the damage to the library was fixed. Nothing was out of place.
"New master of the library."
Li Zhang quickly turned around to try and find the voice that just spoke. He spun his head in all direction but didn't see anyone. Grabbing his dagger he tried to get up and move into a defensive stance.
"Oh… Quick aren't you."
Li Zhang kept looking around.
"Where are you?"
Seconds that felt like minutes past, but there wasn't a response.
"Below you."
Looking down, the only thing that was below him was the Basic Cultivation Manual. Li Zhang reached for the book but was stopped by a weird force.
"No, No… You can't just pick me up without talking to me first."
Li Zhang moved back to the book. Every time the woman talked the book would light up. Li Zhang was very confused about the situation but kept his eyes on the book.
"What are you?"
The book responded immediately only avoiding his question.
"Li Zhang, you were chosen to become the next Master Librarian."
Master Librarian?
"Now, you must be thinking what does this mean? Well, the Master Librarian is a very special figure in the world. A Master Librarian is someone that is keen in all books in the world. Including ones of Cultivation and other Taboo Arts."
Li Zhang nodded slowly as the book explained.
"But… Why me?"
"Li Zhang, firstly you have no family. I know that may seem a little harsh, but having no one to care about helps with the job. Secondly, you are a stone cold killer. If any threats arrive you need to be able to kill them without a thought. Thirdly, You killed the last Master Librarian, She wasn't really strong, she was just a replacement for me to find another person. Lastly, I have a keen interest in you."
Li Zhang didn't really understand what the book was talking about but decided to ask some questions.
"I have a couple of questions to you."
"Ask away."
"My first question, If I'm supposed to learn all about books. Wouldn't that take me hundreds of years?"
"Ah, No one really asks this question. Though, I will try to explain. Yes, you have to learn about all types of books in the world. Of course, this would normally take huge amounts of time. Luckily, I have a way to let you learn every book in the world in a little time."
Li Zhang figured that the book was really smiling after saying this.
"My next question, learning all of the books is what I'm supposed to do. But, There has to be another reason for the Master Librarian, right?"
"Ah, here comes the more common questions. Yes, you not only have to learn all of the books but you also have a special role in the world. A Master Librarian is let's say someone that is watching the world. The Master Librarian of a certain world is usually the strongest on the planet. They are the one that watching everyone and writes books about the world. Pretty much you're going to become a supreme being."
When Li Zhang heard 'Supreme Being' he let off a deadly grin.
"Thirdly, Are there any rules?"
"Nope… But, anything that you do could affect the whole world. Also, I would like to mention that you are a neutral person in this world. All sects and powerful organizations know of your the Master Librarian and will not mess with you directly."
Li Zhang started to get an understanding of the whole situation but still had one more question to ask the book.
"Finally, What are you?"
"Goody, well. It's kinda hard to explain. I'm an existence that has been alive from the start of time. I'm pretty much the book of life, I know about everything that has ever happened in the world to the date and time of anything."
Li Zhang was kinda at awe from what the book was saying.
"Uh… What should I call you... Since we are working together now?"
"We aren't working together yet, for now, you may call me Suria."
"Suria." Li Zhang slowly nodded his head after he kept saying the name in his head countless times.
"Li Zhang I chose you for a reason… We will get started on learning everything tomorrow. For now, let's head back to your hotel."
Li Zhang put away his dagger and picked up the book. The force that was pushing him away was gone. Li Zhang with the book in hand took a look around the library one more time.
Li Zhang was about to leave the library but was stopped.
"Li Zhang, your clothes are all cut up. How about we make you a uniform?"
Li Zhang liked the idea and thought of a perfect one and described it to Suria.
Seconds after describing the uniform his clothes were stripped and replaced with a whole new set.
Li Zhang's uniform was unique, Li Zhang made it full black. A special kind of black called Jet Black. The black was very slick, at the top by the shoulders there was small hood built in.
The suit was rather light, but it was resistance against knives, swords, arrows, and mostly any time of weapon. Besides being resistant to weapons it also protected against magical attacks.
Learning from Suria, there were multiple tiers of magic in the world. There was Tier 1 - Tier 10 magic, each time you went up a tier the magic would get stronger.
Lots of the richer sects had a lot of mages that cultivated. Meaning they were very high up in the Tiers. Suria explained while they were walking to Li Zhang's hotel about the Tiers.
Tier 1 was the basic magic, small fireballs or small healing spells. They weren't super strong and most everyone that has cultivated to Bronze was able to use them.
Next was Tier 2, Tier 2 was a big upgrade to Tier 1. Tier 2 was the start of magic that could do decent damage to a human. Though, Tier 2 was mostly used for survival skills.
Tier 3-5 was magic used for battle. Spells that could kill someone if it was used right.
Tier 6-8 was the magic that not many people were able to reach in their lifetime. Only Spiritual Sky Realm cultivators were able to grasp the basics of this magic.
Tier 9 was a special type of magic, Suria personally has only seen a couple million people be able to use it. Li Zhang was pretty shocked since she has lived since the start of time. Tier 9 magic can destroy whole cities in one spell. Luckily only people cultivating with magic their whole life was able to reach this Tier. Also, they had to be a minimum cultivation base of Mystic.
Finally, Tier 10 magic. Tier 10 magic is the most powerful out of any type of magic in the whole universe. Suria has only seen around four hundred people be able to learn the magic. Though, only one hundred of the four hundred were able to use the magic without killing themselves.
Li Zhang was still learning the cultivation level, but when Suria said what cultivation base someone needed to use Tier 10 magic Li Zhang was in awe at the name.
"Tier 10 magic, someone needs to be at least at the cultivation base of Heavenly Divine God. Anyway, your suit can defend against the top Tier spells of Tier 5."
Li Zhang stopped in the middle of the street at what Suria said. If Li Zhang's suit was able to defend against Tier 1-5 spells than that would make him pretty much invincible.
Finally, they made it back to Li Zhang hotel. Li Zhang took a breath from everything he just learned and walked inside with a big grin on his face.
