Chapter 4: Chapter 4 New Features?
As if she could read his mind, the corner of her lips lift up a little as she smirks at him. She then introduces herself as Dr. Angelina Garland. After doing so, she proceeds to inform him that the incident that he was involved in is being swept under the rug by several powerful organizations and that anyone in the United States that was injured in what the media has dubbed, The Fall. Jake laughs in his head at the thought of several specific gamers who probably got excited over nothing until he realized what happened to him may have happened to others too.
That thought caused him to panic a little that maybe the government might try to experiment on him but that thought was immediately squashed. Especially when he thought of the "powerful organizations" that were behind the massive cover up that was going on at the moment of the people directly effected by the meteorites.
"System, is there anyway that you know if there is anyone like me? Someone who also has a system?" Jake asked tentatively in his head while Dr. Garland checks his vitals.
[Host, do not worry. You are unique and although I do not know for sure if there is another user with a system, from the way that the world governments are acting, there is a high chance that there are others who have some kind of ability birthed from The Fall.]
"How is that a good thing? That means that I am on several organizations list of those who have encountered a meteorite. I will be watched and followed." His expression hardens and he realizes that the waters he is treading is filled with vicious predators and if he slips, he will find himself in their jaws.
Jake's change of facial expressions doesn't go unnoticed by Dr. Garland. She didn't say anything but she did notice that he looked pretty masculine with that concentrated look on her face. She scolded herself internally, "How can you think of something like that, Angelina? He is your patient and more than 10 years younger than you."
Jake unfortunately didn't see the blush on her face because the system responded to him.

It took Jake only a second to realize that the reason as to why his intelligence increased by a point was because he accurately processed something. The system realized this and in response to his thoughts, it said,
[Congratulations! Host's stats have all risen above 10!
New features available
Congratulations! Host has been given a Newbie Package! Host can find it in his Inventory.]
"The fuck you mean, Newbie?" Jake thought but then went on to viewing the new upgrades. Listed in the Menu was 5 new options; Stats, Skills, Shop, Inventory, Quests, and Lottery, with Stats previously being there.
When he was about to view them, he was interrupted by Dr. Garland who cleared her throat to get his attention. He got startled out of his thoughts and turned towards her. "Well after checking your vitals, nothing seems to be out of the ordinary. You're good to leave whenever you want," she said as she removed the IV drip from his arm. When she removed the IV drip, she did it with extreme nimbleness that Jake couldn't feel it being removed and quickly applied a cotton ball and taped it all in a singular motion. She stepped back from her work and smiled at him but when she saw Jake's beet red face and pitched tent, she got embarrassed when she realized what happened.
When she went to remove his IV, it was in his left arm but she leaned over his body from his right side, allowing him to see the deep ravine and her big peach shaped bottom. Due to him being in a loose hospital gown, he had nothing to stop his fierce, rising dragon and little Jake wanted to proudly show his appreciation of the what was seen to her in its own way.
"Sorry," Jake said as he fumbled to cover himself and Dr. Garland quickly exited but not before telling Jake that his discharge papers were on the table. Jake saw her face flushed red as she left and he smirked. "Look at what you did. You scared her off," he said to little Jake and quickly changed into a set of normal clothes that were on a chair. A note signed by Jordan said that it was from him.
Jake smiled at the note after he got dressed and quickly checked the options quickly.
"System, please explain to me about the new features."
[You have unlocked the features: Skills, Shop, Inventory, Quests, and Lottery.
First, I shall go over is Skills. Skills will show you were you what skills you have unlocked and will allow you to view, track your progress, and level up your skills. Previously, your skills appeared in the Stats page but now they will solely appear here.
Second, the Shop option is pretty self explanatory host. This option allows you to purchase items, skills, gear, and consumables. The currency is Super Points or SuP. SuP are obtained through completing Quests, defeating foes, and from certain achievements and/or milestones being accomplished.
Third, the Inventory allows host to store consumables, equipment, and other items that belong exclusively to the system. Note that no items not generated by the system are allowed to go into the Inventory.
Next, the Quests option allows the system to give the host tasks to accomplish and give rewards in the way of packages, SuP, and EXP.
Lastly, the Lottery option is a gamble that can allow you to get some fantastic things, ranging from any item in the store to SuP, or Skills. Be careful though. With the chance of big rewards comes also a big chance for big consequences.]
Excited, he thought out loud, "Wow. For now, I'm going to go back to school and report in. Unfortunately, I missed some classes so I am behind." After a second, he thought about his room. "I'll also have to get a new room and a new roommate. Although it would be nice to get a room to myself..." he hoped for as he checked out of the hospital and got a taxi towards the school.
