Chapter 3: The light that got swallowed by darkness Pt1
Days kept coming and going which turned into months which turned into years. During which Mia had made his mother and brother get a picture taken together although Tsunade disapproved it at first but under the little girl's innocent eyes finally caved in but never smiled in the picture while Kai had a semi-smile and Mia had the biggest grin in her life holding his brothers arm on one side and Tsunade's hand on the other. She made the picture fit into a locket which she never took off.
There were more surprises during these years mainly a man with long white hair and would headband who wore some really weird clothes for a shinobi. His eyes tho were the same eyes as his mother when he looked at us full of hate and disgust but the way he looked at mother was that a man looking at his lover. It didn't take Kai long to put two and two together that this man was in love with her mother although he was the biggest pervert he'd ever seen to hide his love for her. Still, I wouldn't have any sympathy for him as he didn't like me and my sister one bit. The only person who truly cares slightly about us was still Shizune. Mother being the hateful person she never interacted with us and only Mia could get her to talk sometimes for the rest she didn't want anything to do with us it was almost like she was saying be glad I let you live with us don't expect more from me.
Shizune, on the other hand, helped the kids greatly teaching them all sorts of ways to control and improve their chakra. She also helped teach taijutsu which she was massively impressed by Kai as he caught onto all the forms she showed from Konoha to Uchiha style which she was barely familiar with but nonetheless. She even showed him the academy taijutsu which he caught on quickly to put it simply in her the boy was a monster nonetheless. Teaching him transformation jutsu, substitution jutsu and clone jutsu also didn't pose many challenges for him although a bit slow due to him, not year being able to remember all the hand seals. All in all the boy was a monster with massive chakra reserves and such amazing control over his chakra as he was able to manipulate 15 chakra strings at the age of 5. Sometimes Shizune was just scared of the kid although he always smiles at everyone and is very polite she could sometimes tell that those smiles were fake and underneath his facade was something dark yet lonely. The only time she truly saw him smile as if he meant it was when he was with little Mia who he simply adored no matter her request he always tried to fulfil it to the best of his abilities which brought her to the second sibling.
Mia Senju just like her brother was a monster although not like her brother she was what you would call a genius of her generation she caught up on things fairly quickly learnt fast and always had a cheerful personality. She had this air around her that screamed love me and she could even make Tsunade who hate both kids listen to her requests at times. her chakra reserves while not as freakishly crazy as her brother was bigger than other nonetheless. It was safe to say by the time she becomes jōnin she'd have bigger reserved than most of the jōnin in her generation. Shizune had taught them most of the things she could that they would eventually learn in the academy which they would end up in since Tsunade-sama was losing her patience and did not want to see their faces for much longer.
As the sixth year went by and the day of their birthday arrived for both Kai and Mia who had now grown a little talk with Kai being 4"3 and Mia being 4"1. Kai had medium blond hair which was slicked back and spiky at the end while and under the neck while three long strands of hair came down from his forehead (Basically Grimmjow's hairstyle from bleach) he wore a simple white T-shirt and a white jacket on top with an open zip which also had black Chinese dragon on the back. For legs, he had simple white trackies on with black flames on both sides of his legs. Also wearing traditional shinobi sandals. A scar ran from the top of his left eyebrow all the way down to his left cheek courtesy of one of his mother's outbursts when she was drunk which now was very often. This was just one of the many scars he had gotten over the years which all healed but some did leave behind scars. Perhaps the most prominent feature about him was his defined long jawline( Again basically my OC would look like the copy of Grimmjow when he grows up)
Mia, on the other hand, become a rather beautiful 8-year-old she had long and wild hair reaching all the way down to her hips(Imagine Rias from High-school DXD) when she was training tho she put it in a ponytail with a few bangs coming out and falling down from the sides (Imagine Hitagi Senjougahara in a ponytail from Bakemonogatari series) she had her mothers features when she was young her cheeks were not chubby anymore but you still enough to get a good pinch in. Eyes still grey but brimming with life. Her outfit consists of a red mesh armour blouse with only the right sleeve visible. Overall, this is very broad material which resembles bandages with a pattern on it similar to those of rose thorns. Her hands and upper thighs are also wrapped in bandages (Kurenai's outfit when she became a jōnin) And simple shinobi long sandals on.
This was supposed to be the happy occasion but the tension in the room where Kai and Mia sat was suffocating. Mia looked over to her brother and said "Brother seems like mother will drink heavily again today as well and her anger issues have been increasing as of late as well I fear she'll hit you again hard this time. Please don't go out and stay in the room for today" their mother had resorted to physical pain on them on their birthday under the influence of heave alcohol because it reminded her of the day she got raped and so it was the day both kids avoided the most and spent time in their room if they could but today that seemed like an impossible job. "As much as I would like that my moon pie but Shizune has gone to another town due to some plague and is treating the patients she won't be back until tomorrow and you know our old hag has no idea what she does under the influence of alcohol and probably would do something stupid if there is no one to supervise" Kai told her while rubbing his hair in frustration. Honestly, if Kai could he'd stay away from her today as tomorrow they'd be leaving their mother and go to the academy and would have nothing to do with her which was a massive relief to him. Kai would never admit but he had grown to hate most mothers as he found them repulsive and the same. It was something he had no control over since both lived had him with shitty mothers who never have a flying fuck about their kids. He only cared about his sister and perhaps Shizune as she did teach him quite a few things for that he was thankful and she could be considered to their quasi-master of sorts.
Jumping off the bed and reaching his hand out to rub his sisters will hair he spoke "Be good now moon pie stay inside and I'll be back after getting mother to her room and don't go near her cause it'll piss her off today" kissing her forehead while she jerked his hand off her head mumbling something along the lines of I'm not a kid anymore. Ah, the ever so cute little sister always trying to grow old and mature Kai mused as he opened the door and went out towards the famous gambling den where he would find his mother gambling and drinking as usual.
Walking out of the building kai saw many familiar faces the owner of the food stall waved at us which he returned as well the old lady outside the clothes store asked if my sister is well to which I replied. Most of the town knew about me and Mia since we often used to go out and get groceries and play outside. Everyone was so nice and they simply adored me and Mia although she was adored more due to her cheerful personality. Humming my way to the gambling den I scowled at the heavy alcohol stench which was much more than the previous times which was definitely not a good sign. Entering it Kai was greeted with a dim atmosphere with tables all over the place and people laughing and gambling some women wearing revealing clothes and men grabbing them by their tits while some burying their heads in them while others basically took a few upstairs to do the deed that human would always do in their primal state.
Scanning around his eyes finally landed on the table in the far corner with a blond woman with another white-haired man which upon closer inspection was jiraya the pervert-san what surprised Kai tho was that her mother was kissing that pervert-san as their mouths attached and he could see her sucking on his tongue with the kind of noise she made. "Well this is unexpected I know Mr pervert-san loves mother but mother would never do that with him the only way they'd end up with that is being under heavy alcohol intake" Surprised but not fully shocked Kai made his way over to the table and coughed loudly. "Mother what are you doing you know that is highly inappropriate and doing it with him most of all." They both let go and I could smell the heavy alcohol stench which was giving me a headache now. "Boy get lost this is between adults *Hiccup* don't bother us little shit," Jiraya said with a rather authoritative tone and looked at me with those ugly hateful eyes. Raising an Eyebrow at his outburst Kai said "Mind your own business pervert-san I was talking to my mother, not you. Frankly, how can a pervert like be even living you really are a waste of space. Some sannin you are" I spat the last words. "Why you little shi.." he was brought to halt with Tsunade raising her hand and slapping Kai across the face whos face turned sideways and a massive red mark was on his face while his eyes widened with shock simply unable to comprehend how she could hit her own son for this unknown stranger. "Never interfere with my business you devil spawn who told you to ruin the moment for me. Now go and bring me a glass of water from the next door and carry my things back to my room" she said while jiraya had a massive shit-eating smirk on his face seeing this. Kai's anger was at its peak right now but quickly composed himself. It would have done no one any good simple being angry and shouting back at her. What more could just another day to him? Thinking of when he leaves tomorrow made his heart sigh with relief and he wouldn't see this woman forever. "Yes, mother" was all he said before turning around and leaving the den.
One more day one more day kai muttered grinding his teeth and entering the other shop to get some water. "Mr Jogu can I get a bottle of water please"
Kai asked the person behind the counter. Mr jogu was well known throughout the town as a person who took pity on orphans and when be could he would adopt them and raise them as his own since his wife had died with his child during pregnancy. He was a very amiable man and was always kind to kids. "Ah, little Kai what brings you here and oh my what's with that massive slap mark on your face did your mother hit you again? Should I go talk some sense into her on how to treat kids" he huffed angrily which I found comforting. He always had a soft spot for me and Mia. "I'm fine Mr jogu its nothing much just some playful banter you know how mother becomes under the influence of alcohol but thanks for asking". "Anytime my boy you know your sister and you are the treasure of this town so energetic epically that little sister of yours if there is anything I can do let me know little one".
Grabbing the water bottle and thanking him he returned to the den only to see his mother nowhere to be seen searching again but no sign of them again which he scowled and walked out to see Miss Karin approaching me. She was the owner of the hotel we had been staying in a single mother who was always nice to use and treated me and Mia as her own kids. "Little Kai I just saw your mother go in the forest with some white-haired man and then I saw your sister chasing after them so I came to find you. Your mother seemed to be under heavy alcohol influence and little Mia just followed them like that I fear for her safety" As soon as she said that Kai dropped the water he was holding and quickly asked for directions before shooting off towards that side.
'Damn it how couldn't let this happen, Mia, hates having other men around mother and now she just saw some dude go with her in the forest, of course, she'd chase after them' thinking to himself he finally approached the open areas deep in the forest only to find Mia shouting Upon coming closer he saw Mia with tears shouting at her mother how she could do that and looking over he saw his mother without a shirt and only a bra while the pervert-san without a shirt as well. Sighing to himself that they had yet to do the deed he was horrified again when Tsunade raised her hand and smacked Mia with so much force that she went flying towards the near tree slamming into it while making out a whimpering sound.
"Mind your own business you devil spawn. Be like the obedient dog you were. Don't make me kill you right now you little bitch. Jiraya go back to my room I'll see you there I have business to take care off" she spoke angrily while releasing her killing intent towards Mia and jiraya simply got up stumbling under the influence of alcohol shunshined out of there.
