She was later told he was present in his office, one of the many legally that he possessed. 

Evelyn wanted to scoff at that. It didn't matter if he was in a business that was their legal front or not, he would never allow her to enter any of his illegal ones. 

Hesistance was clear on the face of the guard whom she had told that she wanted to visit Salvatore. 

From the corner of her eyes she could see one of them turned around and place a phone next to their ear. They were definitely calling one of the Guards of Salvatore. 

"Are you sure, madam?" Theo confirmed again, "the don would prefer if you sort this out at home."

Of course he would. 

Wives, unless in the business, were not appreciated in the workplaces unless they have been called by the husband. 

And by the looks of it, Salvatore appreciated her to stay at home, especially given that she had been inside the house for the past two years and completely out of public eye.
