Chapter 4: Prologue 4
Jack's consciousness was starting to fade. But before that he saw someone attack the man in black.
Jack saw a woman with long black silky hair. He didn't see her face well but he noticed her red eyes glowing. 'Another vampire?' He thought. He was fighting to stay awake.
The woman was holding a katana and attacked the man. The man summoned a western sword out of thin air and blocked the attack.
"My, my, my. What do we have here?" The man said smirking. "Looks like the back up has arrived."
"Cain!" The woman shouted. She put more strength on the sword she's holding. The sword emitted black aura.
A strong force pushed hard on the man. He was flown away and hit the wall hard that it cracked and made a huge dent.
"Ouch, that hurt." The man said. "You're getting stronger, Rose." The man smirked.
The woman called Rose looked at the bodies of the Bradford family. Her face showed pity and sadness. She then looked at the man Cain with rage.
"How dare you?!" Rose shouted.
"What can I do? Well they are not weak but I'm just too strong for them. Hahahaha!" Cain laughed maniacally.
Rose gripped her sword hard. Black aura was emitting much more than before.
"It looks like you found a fearsome weapon Rose. Do you know what that sword claims as a price for using it's power?" Cain said seriously. "Can you give up a bit of your humanity by using it?"
"If it means to defeat you then I would even give my soul to the devil!" Rose lunged at Cain again.
This time Cain was ready to receive her attack. He readied his sword.
'Slash, ping, slash' the exchange of swords can be heard.
The two are moving fast that if you are not trained enough you can only see blur and the glint of their swords.
"You've gotten much stronger Rose. I'm impressed." Cain smiled. "I'm proud of you love."
"Don't call me love!" Rose twisted her sword and slashed it in the air. A black beam flew towards Cain.
Cain tried to defend from the beam with his sword. But after the beam made contact with his sword it dispersed in black aura. Cain was thrown to the ground.
"Blah." Cain threw up blood. "Fuck. That sword really is dangerous."
Rose was now standing on the ground. She was panting hard.
"Looks like the strain in using that sword is taking a toll on your body now." Cain said seriously. "I suggest you put that sword away now Rose. I don't want to see you lose yourself."
Jack saw their clash. This was the first time he saw that man look serious. When he was massacring his family he was all smiles like a maniac.
"What do you care? You traitor." Rose said.
"Ms. Rose!" A man's voice from the outside can be heard. "Come on let hurry."
"Shit! Looks like the cavalry has arrived." Cain said. "Well this is my cue to get out now."
Cain flicked his fingers then fire raged around him. The fire ran big in just a few seconds like it has it's own life. It engulfed the mansion in not time.
"Let's meet again in the future Rose my love." Cain said while he was being engulfed in flames.
"You're not going anywhere!" Rose tried to advance but flames stopped her from her tracks. "Fuck!"
"Adieu my Rose." Then Cain was totally engulfed by the flames.
"Shit!" Rose sweared.
"Ms. Rose!" A man walked beside Rose. He has strawberry blonde hair and at least 5'10" tall.
"We were too late." Rose said. He looked at the dead bodies on the center. Then she saw the boy was still breathing. She run towards him.
Rose slouched down and put her ear near his face. She can hear the boy's shallow breathing.
"This boy is still alive!" Rose shouted. She picked up the boy slowly and gently. "Go get the the medics quick."
"Yes." The man then ran outside.
"Boy can you hear me?" Rose asked. She carried the boy in her arms.
Jack can only open his eyes slightly. He looked at the beautiful woman carrying him.
"Don't worry you're going to be alright." Rose said gently.
'Why is she saving me?' Jack thought. 'She's a vampire too, right?' He looked at the beautiful face of this woman.
Now that she was near him, he can see her face more clearly. Her red eyes was gleaming beautifully. But the red color is starting to fade and a dark brown color remained. Her skin wasn't pale like other vampires but hers a fair color. Her nose was tall and the bridge was beautiful. Her lips were slim but fluffy and has a tint of rosy pink. She was the most beautiful woman he has seen in his ten years of life.
"Don't worry. I'll save you." Rose said.
After hearing that Jack succumbed to unconsciousness.
