Chapter 2: Accessing Records...... BEGIN PLAYBACK - UEG Headquarters Emergency Meeting- August 3rd 2125

A room that fills a football field comes into view, but arranged in a circle. There is a center podium with the cabinet arranged in seats around it hovering on viewing platforms situated around the entirety of the room. Judicial Head is next to and below central podium.

Judicial Head: Order! Order!
*Cabinet's murmurs quiet down*
Chancellor: Now Gentlemen and Ladies, we call this Meeting in the face of a deadly threat. An unknown alien threat has appeared on our exploratory telescopes as a large swarm of bestial nature. To persevere through this time which threatens the very survival of our Human Race, we must initiate OPERATION: WHITE SHEEP. This Operation is very simple on the surface, but complicated in its workings on a scale never before attempted. Department of Combat Logistics Director Addalson, and Department of Space Defense Director Milcador.
Director Addalson: Thank you sir.
Director Milcador: Thank you Chancellor.
Director Milcador: The plan begins with the Government issuing a Level 1 alert system wide ordering all space vessels to land and martial law to be imposed on all bodies under the UEG. Then we reorganize the UEG into Military Government, given Emergency Powers, and then the ability to make any executive decision without the Cabinet's Approval.
Director Addalson: We then confiscate all space transport, recreational, any ship with capabilities to fly. After this is done we must begin loading of citizens onto the larger ships first going down to the smallest and then weld on the unperfected FTL Drive, with a military fleet encircling the civilian fleet. The destination is Arestes, a Planet right in the Goldilocks Zone suitable for Human settlement.
Director Milcador: In order to buy time for this whole process to take place, we reactivate the dubbed "Containment Field," located in the Asteroid Belt from the Interplanetary War and direct all weapons systems outwards in the direction of the Outer Planets. We will stall the threat with our flesh to safely complete the jump. As this FTL Drive is untested for the field, we expect heavy losses as we complete multiple jumps across light-years, with Arestes being 15. If we successfully launch with our 20 billion population onboard then for every jump we do puts massive strain on our radiation shields designed for use protecting against our Sun. The smaller ships have a naturally smaller energy banks and can sustain 3 jumps without having to stop and recharge. The larger civilian ships such as Cruise Liners and all Ships of The Line can sustain for 10 jumps. But there is another variable at work here. All we know is that randomly during the jump a ship can be pulsed by the stars which we pass and will be overflowed with radiation, and with ships without 5 jumps worth in their energy banks will be atomized without question. There will be two fleets, both being escorted by Fleet and keeping in constant contact out of jump through Emergency Long-range Mode. One will be the smaller civilian craft and the other the Cruise Liners and relative size vessels. The larger will go through the radiation areas and the smaller will take a detour which will extend the time period needed for travel by several months depending on the concentration of electromagnetic radiation. In addition the FTL Drives can short-circuit mid jump and be lost in the dimension we currently call Sub-Space.
