Chapter 2: Chapter 2- Risk
Lier woke up to the buzzing of the streets. Her beautiful but tired eyes screams pain and desperation.
She looked across the street and saw loose women standing there. Waiting for any guy who is willing to buy pleasure and for a decent amount.
Lier looked at them and envied them. They were wearing pretty robes and hair ornaments. Their face clean and aesthetically pleasing. Their hair shiny and beautiful.
Lier was pretty. She has the courage to even say she was the prettiest. But the way it is now. No matter who has to choose they would choose the clean and decent women. They were presentable and attractive. She was dirty and disgusting. Still, Lier has not given up on life. She knows that one day she would be able to enjoy everything she wishes to have.
She looked beside her and saw the jade pendant she picked up from the mystery man last night. She was sure he was still in the city but does not know where to go.
Knowing that if she starts now she would have enough time to circle the city and come back. So, she got up and started to look.
She first went to an inn close to where it happened but before she can step inside the building she bumped into a young lady. Someone around her age. The lady fell down and one of her hand maids help her up while the other pushed Lier causing her to fall.
The lady got up and Lier knew she would be in trouble if she does not apologize. She bowed down her forehead touching the wet dirty ground.
"Im sorry my lady I was in a rush and did not see you. " She spoke not waiting for the lady's anger
"Raise your head. It's fine I understand."
The lady spoke gently making Lier shocked.
Lier looked up while speaking "Thank Y-"
The words died down in her mouth after the lady slapped her . The slap was strong Lier felt her whole face burning.
"I understand that you are stupid but do not stand in my way ever again. Trash like you should kneel in front of me and worship the land I walk on. "
The lady walked by her she stopped besides Lier and sneered down.
Lier doesn't know the lady but she knows that the lady is an arrogant b*tch. Lier stood up and tried to clean the mud on her clothes while smiling. She knew she was no one and no one would ask her if she was okay so she brushed it off and smiled.
She got up and walked inside the inn to continue her quest.
It was already midday and she had not eaten anything. She was also tired. If she cannot find the man in this inn she would go home and try again tomorrow.
The last inn was also a negative so as promised Lier had slowly went on her way to his place by the alley.
She walked slowly looking around maybe someone dropped their food and she can eat it.
Lier got to the alley with a piece of bread she got from the dumps of a cuisine. it was a little dirty but it would do. Especially since she is used to it. And besides beggars cant be choosers.
Lier was almost done eating the bread when a man stopped in front of her. Lier looked at the guy and saw that the man was dangerous. Her hand slowly went to the fan she would always bring with her. But the man was quick and pulled a dagger. Pointing it at Lier's throat.
"I am not the one you seek. I am only a beggar and I have no power to do anything."
"Shu put that down. "
The man put the dagger down and bowed. He stepped aside and there in front of Lier was the man she was looking for. He was beautiful and he has eyes that screams power. His aura was also something else.
Lier quickly took the jade pendant and bowed down while raising the jade so the man can see it.
"I didn't steal it. I picked it up sire and have been looking for you for the day to give it back. Please believe me"
"I know I saw you this morning. I waited for you to sell it so you could buy food. Instead I followed you going through inns and looking for me. Tell me why not just sell it? People your status would have done so."
"Because this isn't mine sire. Yes Im a beggar but I was raised by my mother to give back what is not mine to possess."
"I see now. "
"Sire forgive me if I overstep my boundaries but can I ask a question?"
"why not take it from me when you saw me?"
"I was testing you."
"Testing me for what sire?"
"To know if you can be trusted."
"Did I pass sir?"
"Yes you did.So I have decided to reward you."
"Be mine"
Lier looked at the man to know if he was joking but all she sees was sincerity and the intensity of his desire.
Lier was shocked she doesn't know the man.But should she take a risk?
She did not know the man neither his name and status but he could help her. He could make everything better right?
Besides she has been through hell and back. Nothing can beat that already. Will this man be the one to help her get up again?
Or is he a demon that is gonna drag her down to the deepest parts of hell?
One way to find out and its a risk but no man has ever won without risking anything right? Well in her case a woman.
