Chapter 18: Shocking News On the Way...
Anna starts unpacking her luggage after reaching her house. The fridge was empty as Sasha left today morning and didn't knew about Anna's arrival. First thing Anna did after walking in the house was to order the complete grocery items needed for the coming week before heading towards her room with her luggage. After settling all the luggage she quickly walks in the bathroom for a shower. Taking her whole sweet time she walks out of the shower after an hour in towel, as she took a leave for the rest of the day thus she picks up shorts and tank top to dress her up before heading towards the gate after hearing the door bell.
She collects all the grocery items and starts arranging the same in fridge and in kitchen. She ties her long hair in messy bun and heads towards the kitchen to prepare herself a veg sandwich and coffee. She felt exhausted with the long journey but wanted to fill her tiny tummy with something before heading to grab some sleep.
After completing her small brunch, she wash the utensils and heads towards her room. It only took five minutes for her to doze off to sleep and enter her dreams.
7 o'clock
Anna wakes up at the loud alarm sound. "Ahh...I don't want to go to office" she rubs her eyes while grabbing herself out of the bed as she knew Sasha is not there and she will definitely be late for office if continue to sleep. After taking a quick shower she dress herself in some business attire with high pony and light lipstick. She walks down to the kitchen and places her Ipad and purse on the dinning table before grabbing the corn flakes box. After mixing the corn flakes and milk she sits on the chair and starts the breakfast. Anna is not a morning person and definitely not someone to have breakfast until and unless chased by Sasha but today was different as she had an empty stomach from last afternoon and have to eat something to avoid the growling sounds in the conference meeting. After settling her hunger she quickly walks out locking the front door towards the cab which she has booked.
It took her thirty minutes to reach the office, it's been a month and she is back to the place where she started her career. "It feels so good" Anna speaks to herself while getting down at the office entrance. Grabbing all her belongings from the back seat she starts walking inside. After reaching her cabin, she quickly places all the things and asks her assistant to help her with the regular coffee.
She was completely busy with the preparing the presentation when suddenly hears a knock on her cabin door. Without lifting her head from the laptop she answers the knock allowing the person to walk in.
Mr. Xi comes in and stands in front of her table.
"Lily, you can place my coffee on the table and fetch my lunch at 2 pm." Anna speaks up in the same place still indulged in her work but lifts her head after not hearing anything from Lily.
"I am sorry Sir, I didn't notice you" Anna gets up from her seat after seeing her boss standing in front of her and bows down multiple times asking for an apology.
"It's ok Anna, I am very much impressed with your performance in Japan and just came here to tell you to prepare the presentation for today's meeting, we will have the meeting in another few minutes"
"Thank you Sir for trusting me and giving me this opportunity. I am almost done with the presentation and will be there in the meeting room in another few minutes"
Mr. Xi was about to exit her cabin when turns back suddenly "Also, I forgot to tell you that Mr. Ciao Chang from Xian Group of companies will be visiting us tomorrow and will be staying here for the new assignment. I have decided to give the project in your hands as per the remarks given from them. Don't let me down"
"Ciao Chang, Mr. Xian Xu's assistant is coming up? He is travelling alone of with Mr. Xian Xu???" Anna replies in shock.
"As per the update, it's only him. Mr. Xian Xu is in New York it seems for another project. I will leave him in your hands Anna, take good care of Mr. Ciao and helps us to nail this project like the previous one" Xi walks out of her cabin after informing her all the details.
