Chapter 1: Introduction
My heart felt heavy seeing the presentation displayed on the screen. This is exactly my idea. How come Lisa have it in her hands? There was only one reasonable explanation, she stole it.
The room filled with loud applause.
" Great. Mind blowing. You always manages to do beyond my expectations Lisa. You will be in charge of the new project. Congratulations " manager said.
Everyone in the room started congratulating and praising Lisa.I felt frustrated and left the room in a hurry. Nobody noticed my absence.
I wanted to scream, yell and vent my anger and the mixed unknown emotions within me. I continued walking hopelessly.
Today was my twentififth birthday and from what all had happened today, I can definitely say that I will never be able to forget this day ever in my life. The day was a disaster.
It started in the morning when my landlord brought a group of people along with him to throw me out. He wanted to sell the property to prevent the eviction of his own house. I tried arguing that he had to give me a prior notice. But finally I had to give in and move out of the place.
I packed my stuff and stepped out. Having no where else to go, I decided to go to my boyfriend's apartment.
I knocked the door. A girl who looked younger than me opened the door. She was wearing a man's shirt that covered her thighs.
I recognised the shirt instantly. The one I gifted to my boyfriend on our fifth anniversary.
"Honey, who is it? " I heard my boyfriend calling out. Tears started streaming down my eyes.
His footsteps froze on seeing my face. My face was never this pale before. He had a blank expression on himself.
I turned around. Unwilling to let him see my face and ran out of the building.
My boyfriend, with whom I had been in a relationship with for almost six years have been cheating on me. He was the person whom I had complete trust. And now he manged to completely shatter it. I had given up my chance to study abroad just to be with him. I never made friends because I felt that my entire time should be dedicated for my love. This is what I got in return. I have been blind. Blinded by his sweet talks and gestures.
I could feel a number of knives stabbing in to my heart. Immense pain and hatred filled me. I hated myself for having trusted him so much.
My phone rung reminding me of the presentation that I had to give today
I collected myself and went to the office. That was when I found that my presentation was missing.
Meeting was about to start in fifteen minutes and my presentation was nowhere to be found. Helplessly I took the presentation that I had prepared before the original one amd went off for the meeting only to find my presentation stolen and presented by someone else
