Chapter 3: Saphonier
"This pendent is called Saphonier. This is a symbol of royalty and absolute power only the ones who deserve to be the ruler of the kingdom will be able to wear this. Others will not be able to control it if they were the pendent. "
The letter was written in a language called Calimac. It is one of the many languages I was taught by my grandfather.
"Royalty? Huh? " I felt curious. I took the pendent out of the box and wore it. Before I could react the room was filled with bright light and my vision blurred.
It was dark when I finally opened my eyes. That was when I realised that I had passed out the moment I wore the pendent. I tried to get up but felt dizzy. With great effort I reached my bed room.
I looked at my reflection on the mirror.
The pendent looked good on me. It was not shining now. It had no colour and turned transparent. I felt confused about the incidents that happened today. It seemed really weird.
Is this really a magical pendent?
How am I able to wear this?
Does that mean that I am a royal?
Many questions started popping up in my mind to whom I could never find a satisfactory answer
I decided to place it back in the box itself.
I tried to remove the pendent. However I tried the pendent would not come off. After a long time I gave up. It was of no use, I was unable to remove the pendent.
I cooked some dinner as I was feeling extremely hungry and dizzy.
Eating alone in the big dinning room I felt a turmoil of emotion within me. I remembered how all the members of our family would sit together and have lot of fun when ever we visited this place. Now the laughter was gone. I was left alone.
I then thought of my ex boyfriend who had been cheating on me. I used to cherish each moment I spent with him. Now all those memories were nothing but heart aches. I was too absorbed in my thoughts that I didn't notice the pendent that was showing different shades of blue.
After meal I went back to my bedroom. I decided to go job hunting the next day. I dozed off even before I knew.
I opened my eyes only to see that I was walking towards the basement. I tapped a spot and a secret door opened. I went in to find a room filled with books much like a huge library with lots of dusted books.
As soon as I entered the room some books dusted themselves and flew towards the table. The were placed in a specific order by themselves.
I woke up with a start.
What was that? A dream?
