Synopsis
After an epic battle with the Sage Emperor, Xiao Ning'Er's worst nightmare comes to pass when she sees the brutal death of her love, Nie Li, right before her eyes. They had fought bravely but despite her best efforts, she could do nothing as she saw the Sage Emperor's divine spear burst through Nie Li's chest in an explosion of blood.
As the gruesome scene was played out, she felt an intense pain in her chest as her hopes and dreams were crushed in one brief moment. She turned to the Sage Emperor as an uncontrollable fury rose in her heart, channeling all the remaining soul force in her soul realm into the deadly sword in her hand.
Her sword looked like a bolt of lightning, writhing like an enraged python, and her eyes glowed with a blinding white light as she fluttered in the air like a storm goddess. She flew faster than a speeding arrow towards the Sage Emperor, releasing her final attack, not caring if she survived or not.
As her consciousness faded away, she knew she had failed but before she closed her eyes forever, she saw an unusual green entity fly into her chest.
"That's strange", she thought, "it looks a bit like a vine", before all her reasoning disappeared into a blissful nothingness.

Author's Note: Tales of Demons and Gods was the first webnovel that I fell in love with. While the author proceeds at his 'incredible' pace, I've decided to let my mind wander and create a new storyline, building on the same world and concepts.

Read this only if you're a fan of the original TDG! The author builds on the world and timelines of the original story, so if you don't have any context, it can be hard to get up to speed. Otherwise, the writing quality is excellent and it's even interesting to see the progression of the writing as different styles are experimented with. The updates have been very regular, the story arcs that differ from the original TDG are creative and interesting, and new characters are being developed like Chen Linjian and maybe Wei Nang? I definitely recommend this if you appreciated TDG!
I know this story has just begun but I fell in love with the first few chapters the moment I started reading it!! For a fan-fic, the writing quality is superb and the updating has been regular...so far. At least once a day. The character design and interaction is actually quite entertaining and deeper than I expected. The world background seems to be based on a different novel which I'll have to check out soon but it seems pretty complete. And the story development is maybe my favourite part so far in terms of pacing and maintaining the reader interest. Love it and fully recommend it...as long as the author keeps updating. ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐

i think this is one of the best fanfics of tdg. for me the story has more depth if compared to original. toned down (where it matters), more mature version of original story. there's no easy groundbreaking/wish ability for transmigrated person, so if you are looking for super op mc in easy mode, this story might not be for you.
Having a tales of Demons and Gods story with out the over powered nei li but with the timed and quiet Xiao ninga who has to bring both herself and her friends back to their peck self while trying to keep her feelings for Nie li in check at the same time would likely produce the best tales of Demons and Gods if you have a problem with the overpowered Nie li

I am now like the same with tdg keep refreshing to see if there is a new chapter and keep reread ing i liked tdg the besg untill they went to that dark world with the lord of death faceslapping and outsmarting everyone. Curieus what she will do will she just save glory city and relax?? The sage emperor was nie li goal because bloody vengance she rlly doesbt have that.. she coild decide all those elfs and everything not her problem and just run around all over the world glory city us in since ghe sage emperor had no way of reaching it. And she wont be able to save that firegod so she would need different oportunities if she does want to revebge nie li... but can she still trust him?? I wouldnt...

I really like the story but I hate when you portray her as weak minded and blushes at guys who act nice or are slightly handsome, like cmon wtf are you thinking?
I've been seeing so many authors out there shamelessly giving themselves 5 stars...and today I'm going shamelessly give myself 5 stars. ๐๐๐ Not because I think my novel is awesome. It's only 10 chapters in and I've barely scratched the tip of the iceberg of the story I want to tell, so no one should claim that it is 'awesome'...at this point of time. But because I have a new-found respect for how authors do this writing thing. Re-reading over and over for spelling and grammatical mistakes, adding in little details where you will only reveal its reason many chapters down the road, making sure that your plot makes sense on the whole, making dialogues and interactions between characters somewhat believable, and the list goes on and on. It's tough. But most of all, it's really tiring. Writing is a consuming and draining activity because you have to be fully immersed in 'the flow' to come up with something half-decent, and then have the courage to post it up in public for anyone with a keyboard to tear down in half a second. I only started this writing journey on impulse 6 days ago, and what a ride it's been so far. I'd never have thought I could complete 10 chapters from scratch in this time frame. 19,000 words and two big eye bags later, I can look back with a tiny sense of accomplishment. I've sacrificed sleep, gym time and even my focus at the workplace to get this out. I don't know how long it will continue but it's been a wild, fulfilling ride so far which I'm not sure if I'm quite ready to climb off yet. That is why I will proudly and shamelessly give myself a 5-star rating. ๐๐๐
