Chapter 8: Hard work always pays off
Fay's smile returned and she beamed at her old friend. "We surely will. But do tell me how did you get into the entertainment industry? I thought you didn't want to be an actress but a costume designer?"
"Well, that is an interesting story. Dylan was producing a movie back in Los Angeles some years back and I was the costume designer for the same movie. It was great working with someone I knew from before. Then one day, the actress of the movie injured herself and Dylan requested me to fill in for her. He said we looked quite similar." Mia laughed while telling the story. "After much begging, I agreed and the rest is history. From then on, he casted me in many tv series and short films. I found acting as fun time too, so I made it a full time thing."
Fay's face was contorted in shock and delight. "Woah. I guess it's in our stars, what we do or where life takes us."
Mia hugged Fay from the side. "Oh Fay, don't worry, okay. Hard work always pays off. And Shakespeare had said - It's not in our stars to hold our destiny but ourselves."
Fay smiled at that. "Yeah, I guess you are right."
