Chapter 18: Beautiful Misunderstanding
Meng Zhang didn't know what to make of his situation. It was completely different. Before his lordship was fighting with him to get the Soul Flute and then his new master a little girl with high martial saint came in between and insulted both of them. Instead of getting angry at her his lordship and he the azure dragon fainted because of purple mist.
Then in a second, he became a contracted beast because of that delicious spirit water. He thought that it was enough drama for a day and now he can live in peace but this was a beautiful misunderstanding on his part.
His new master – Long Lei even got the soul flute and tormented his Lordship like a bitch. He was glad that she has not used her tricks on him but the weirdest thing was his lordship was playing along with her.
Who could have thought that he will see this kind of day in his life?
The unyielding Sovereign lord could be this naughty.
This was definitely something that he was proud to see happening in his life. He was also proud of his new master. She was someone with a tough will and a brave heart.
"Sire I will not go. She is my master. I have to stay here." He told him straightforwardly. Although he was scared and didn't dare to question his lordship because of their different status he was a loyal beast and after he contracted his master albeit because of his greed; he will definitely do his duty properly.
"You are questioning me?" the ice cold voice came out from Nangong Ah Jin to see this stupid dragon behaving like this.
After Long Lei lost her consciousness, his martial powers returned and now he was able to fully use them. He wanted to know why his little fox wanted to know about Nangong Bai Yu from him. He didn't feel good about this. She was ignoring him because of that Bai Yu; his ego couldn't accept this.
He has claimed Long Lei his unknowingly and was jealous of her attention to another man. This was the real truth behind his silly thoughts.
She has sparked an interest in him.
"I don't dare to Sire but this time I can't follow your commands." He said looking at the ground.
Nangong Ah Jin was impressed because of his loyalty and didn't bother him again.
"Fine! You can stay." Nangong Ah Jin allowed him but then a thought came in his mind, holy beasts, were the proudest creature on this mainland and the highest level of beast found in the mortal world. They never contracted any human beings before because of their arrogance and their pride never allowed them then how come this second most powerful holy beast agreed and contracted a human and that too when her powers are not much. He could easily crush her.
What was the reason?
"Why did you accept the contract with her? Tell me and don't say because you have a change of heart or you think she is pretty. I want the truth." Nangong Ah Jin warned him.
He was aware of this Azure Dragon's love towards beautiful females and he could do anything because of his love towards every beautiful thing and although this little girl was young and has a baby face over her he can clearly see her extraordinary features.
In a few years, she will become what they say ah the beauty that could bring countries down.
The azure dragon was speechless at the candid nature of his lordship. How can his lordship remember his taste after so many years? Does that mean he still remembers the incident years ago?
Meng Zhang shivered in cold sweat.
"Umm because..."
The azure dragon didn't want to disclose why he chose to follow this little girl because clearly, he couldn't inform his lordship about spirit water. This was his master's secret.
Nangong Ah Jin furrowed his brows in irritation.
"What? Did you forget this soon?" he asked him smirking evilly.
The Azure Dragon: "It's not like this."
Nangong Ah Jin: "What is it then?"
He asked him with a smile on his face now but the azure dragon knew what lay behind that smile and he gulped hard because he really couldn't imagine a good answer now without disclosing the secret.
"It's nothing." Long Lei whispered. Her throat was dry because of her earlier screaming efforts.
She heard their conversation and was worried that this new subordinate will expose her secret. But now she knows that her imagination was rather wrong. This dragon was not that bad. He was clearly trying to hide her secret but this nosy bastard was hell-bent on interrogating him.
Nangong Ah Jin was surprised to see her awake so soon. After all normal human beings were not able to get up before two days when they suffer from physical backlash and she was wide awake just after a shichen. This was all because Long Lei had the special space in her and after integrating that cave in her ring she was more physically stronger as space absorbs her power in it.
"Master you are awake." Meng Zhang was surprised too at her speedy recovery but then he remembered that she has many mysterious things so didn't fret much about it; his guess was right almost on the point.
Long Lei nodded. She turned towards that annoying man who was smiling like a blissful cat. She wanted to scratch his face and see his smile vanish from his pretty face.
"Lei'er let's talk now." Nangong Ah Jin asked her enthusiastically.
"What is there to talk? You tell me first and then I will tell you." Long Lei told him.
She was not going to spill anything before him. She was not an inexperienced girl.
Nangong Ah Jin smiled at this nice deflection. This fox was truly smart.
"I will tell you but why do you want to know about that man I am searching for?" He asked her completely hiding his annoyance.
"Are you deaf?" Long Lei insulted him.
She gave him a sweet smile and asked in a girly voice, "You tell me everything FIRST. I will then tell you why I want to know about him."
Heavens! These two are....
….Really made for each other.
