Chapter 8: Knife Shop
The thought of being friends with someone who buys you everything you need to succeed in your life dreams and what you think is amazing and cool, is a friend of your dreams. That is what Peppermint was thinking as she walked beside, Sunset ( Lillth. ) , to the knife shop.
I walk steadily beside Peppermint. Her excitement makes me a little giddy myself. Thinking of having a travel in NH companion and a friend makes me happy. Also, maybe I can understand more about this place I woke up in. I don't really understand it that well yet. Also the voice in my head really only gives hints and forceful nudges. It Probably won't explain how this happened.
We reach the Knife shop and step in. The woman at the counter has many scars on her face. I can tell she was once beautiful but now her scars have taken that from her. As she looks up I see deep blue eyes sightlessly staring by our direction.
She blind?!
How would see get around? Some animal could just kill her! Maybe she had a body guard. Wait. Are they body guards here???
As a few questions about her go through my mind she says in a nice voice.
" Is anyone there? "
" Yes. I am sunset and this is my friend Peppermint. We are looking to buy a knife. " I say getting over the shook that see is blind.
" What kind of knife you two looking for. " She says a little blandly. I feel a little bad for her.
" A basic traveling knife. " Peppermint says. The girl nods and she goes under the counter. I am about to ask if she needs help when see says.
" I have a 2 inch knife or a 4 inch knife. "
" We will take the 4 inch." I say and peppermint shoots me a look that says ' Gosh! No need to go over board! '
The woman puts a knife on the counter.
" 40 tillos. " I pass her the tillos and leave the store. I am still thinking about her when Peppermint says
" She had 12 skill points. "
" Really? Is that a lot. " I ask.
" Yes! hell, having 7 skill points is like being a king. But twelve. I think she could probably sense us and read our minds. " Peppermint says a note of admiration in her voice. I nod. She seemed really powerful. I know that maybe in the future If I train hard enough I could be the one people like me and peppermint admired. Maybe I should have more than 12 skill points. ( Sunset does not become an OPed MC. ) I know I am just dreaming but still it is nice to dream. It makes you braver in a way. You can be a different person. Some one your not. I love that. I shake my head from the sudden deep thought that keep coming at my head. I smile at the ground.
Me and peppermint ate nearing the end of this shelter. Going, finally, into exploring territories. Territories where we will train and become strong. I promise my self that I will help Peppermint as much as I can. Maybe when we come back here I will already have the small business I was thinking of.
